  1. I use 10 lb. the lighter the line usually the diameter is less too. Allows lures to dive deepest. I use flouro for jerkbaits however. Flouro sinks
  2. I use mono. Maxima ultragreen or chameleon.
  3. I really like my Bending Branches Angler Ace paddle. I have the 250 cm and I can go all day without being too fatigued. I purchased it from Austin Kayak with 20% off and free shipping. Good place to shop for yak accessories.
  4. What would be a good all-around rod to use for this application? Something that does 1/4 ounce minimum? Seems like weightless plastics with medium to heavy wire hook would weigh 1/4 ounce or more?
  5. I caught 2 this weekend on a TRD Crawz. The problem I had was keeping the perch off of the bait. They attack those!!
  6. Never tried it. I have tried skipping heavier lures. I got the Tatula to help solve backlash issues.
  7. Yes or weighted. I would also include smaller jigs and Ned rigs.
  8. I would be skipping Keitechs, Senkos, Cut Rs and the like.
  9. So, I just received my Daiwa SV TWS reel yesterday. I am using this exclusively for dock skipping. My question is which rod to pair this with for best results. Here is what I currently have. Which one would be best for this application? I am leaning towards the Tatula. SLX 6'10' M/XF Exage 6'10 MH/F Tatula XT 7' ML/F Carbon Lite 2.0 7' M/F Fury 7' H/F (this is the 704C model - really MH/F) SLX 7'2" M/XF Exage 7'2" H/F
  10. I can cast #9 Rapala pretty far with SLX 7’2” medium. I fish clear water and need long casts.
  11. Braid - Power Pro Flouro - Sunline Assassin Mono - Maxima Chameleon
  12. Carbon-lite 2.0 6'6" ML with Fuego LT 2500
  13. maybe, but a tight fit
  14. This Flambeau is perfect for 6 baits. Not buzzbaits tho.
  15. I use the handirack on my Civic. Easy and works just fine.
  16. I know where I WON'T be buying rods from....
  17. I wear REI Screenline and Kuhl Renegade pants.
  18. I use my every day gear when using the kayak. I tether the rods I am not using. You can add floats to the rods if desired.
  19. I use one of these in my kayak and am pretty happy with it. 17MOAURBLSTCHLTCKTBX_Mossy_Oak_Break_Up_wdp.jxr
  20. I am looking for a good skipping reel. I have read the Dawia Tatula SV TWS is a good choice. They have them on sale at American Legacy for $169.99. I am thinking about picking one up for this application. Are there other reels I should be considering for this purpose?
  21. I am currently using a Daiwa Tatula XT 7' Medium with Dawia Fuego LT 3000 reel. I spool mine with 6 lb Sufix Siege Cammo . This combo cost my $79.99 for rod and $74.99 for reel. Very good for $155.
  22. I use a bass mafia bag to store my plastics. They go in a bag that is attached to the back of my kayak seat.
  23. I use the SLX M-XF for jerkbaits. Very happy with it. I use SLX 7.2:1 reel with it. Got it from American Legacy. I have the Exage 6’10” MH-F and it’s a nice rod. I have it paired with a Citica. It would work for jerkbaits. I use it for flukes and senkos.
  24. I throw em on 6'10" SLX M-XF, SLX 7.2:1 reel. Same as I would for jerkbaits. Casts well.
