  1. Ditto - more you use it, the more damage you'll do to it. I think you'd much rather miss a bit of fishing now than give it up entirely.
  2. Which size? My old finesse rig had a President-25 with 10# braid...always spooled up evenly. The suggestion to put backing on it is a good one. Two benefits from that... 1: Less cost - you'll only use 1/2 a spool of braid at a time 2: Better line-lay - even a cheap mono backing will assist in the line lay... on my spinning reels I use 4# Zebco Cajun that I get 3000yd spools from Fleet Farm for $6.49.
  3. Just pay attention to where you can use them - some bodies of water, you can only use minnows caught there in that particular place. Also keeping or disposal rules.
  4. Just make sure you follow the rules set forth. Pg. 30 - https://files.dnr.state.mn.us/rlp/regulations/fishing/fishing_regs.pdf
  5. It's a matter of protecting your hearing from the start. Always wore either full muffs or at least plugs when shooting, working with loud machinery or other things. Last year was suffering muffled hearing - went in, turned out to be plugged eustachian tubes...a steroid prescription and some nasal spray and a week later good as new. Hearing test after - slight loss at the high end, but otherwise passed with flying colors. No ringing, and almost perfect hearing at 62 years of age.
  6. Na - just get two 20 year olds. Course that can work in reverse....when I hit 60 the wife 'threatened' to trade me in on a pair of 30 year olds. ?
  7. Nope - you're only 2nd from the bottom - volzfan59 and NUK985 both are lower than you this week. Meanwhile - even though only one of my guys made it to tomorrow, I'm hanging in the Top-10 still.
  8. Removing shims would help the top gap - adding shims would increase the top gap while removing the bottom gap cause you're 'lifting' the spool. Basically what I think is happening is that the rotar is not traveling the full distance top-to-bottom

  10. Here, Luke actually tests the 'popular' GT knot vs a FG Like he says - avoid the GT. Albright, Alberto, Twin-Uni he says are all better...and the FG still wins overall.
  11. I was trying to keep in his budget of $150 total - the Sierra alone is more than that.
  12. Ask and ye shall receive. P-38J BAC TSR-2 (British bomber from the 60s) - superimposed over a Google-Earth shot Mini Romulan - this is the 2500 scale, about 4" across the wings...had to scratch-build the Plasma launcher on the nose...superimposed over a nebula shot from Hubble.
  13. Jigs are definitely Fast for me - but I prefer a Mod-Fast for spinners/chatters. Current rod for those is a Fury 705CB where-as I've got a Mojo 7'1" MH/F for jigs/T-Rigs
  14. Mostly Sci-Fi and X-Planes (SR-71/YF-12, XB-70, etc) Though I have done some warships and WW-II aircraft.
  15. Since she's in charge of the 'checkbook', ya. And it's still a 'No'...so I keep nursing the 2001 Silverado...
  16. I got three fishing tomorrow - including my 'home-boy' Seth.
  17. One guy I follow for my modeling tested this compressor from Amazon that goes for $90...he was impressed. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VT2F5N9?psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=barbatosrex-20&linkId=f4ee9fd6516ac3a0bc5767afa2790678&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
  18. I use airbrushes for scale modeling. I'm really impressed with my Master G23 - get the G233 kit and you get 3 different needle/nozzle sizes with it. I also have a Paasche single-action, suction feed with 3 needles/nozzles, but I mainly use side cups with it. There's also an old (40+years) Badger 200. The G233 kit is around $40 from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KJDXHQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For air - I use my shop 3-gallon pancake compressor with a dedicated regulator/filter/water-trap mounted to the home-built spray booth. To use the compressor with my shop tools, I just unplug it from the airbrush regulator...it's also got a filter/water-trap on it.
  19. Oh - kinda like Boone's Farm?
  20. Maybe some of it - but Australia produces over 50% of all the lithium mined, and I doubt they use child-miners. https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2023/01/chart-countries-produce-lithium-world/ China production is accurate - 90% of Australia's lithium is shipped to China (same link)
  21. We got a Flea Market here - asking price required, but you can mention that it's negotiable...pictures are not required, but helpful https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/18-fishing-flea-market/
  22. Problem is that TW doesn't carry UL rods....best you can hope for is a Light. Saying that - my Daiwa Procyon 7' L/F does a bang-up job on very light lures https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_Procyon_Spinning_Rods/descpage-PYS.html Pair that with a good 1000 size spinning reel - Daiwa Revros LT will do the job and bring you in right about your price point. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa/catpage-DAIWA.html?from=BASRES
  23. My first inclination is the spring is worn. Closing the bail by hand should be the norm - using the handle to 'flip' the bail induces line twist and wear.
  24. I'm not terrible - but it could be a lot better.
