  1. They're both techniques where you toss them...then leave them...neither is designed for searching. On a rig that you'd use for those two...1/4oz jig with a 3"-4" paddletail like below....would make a good searchbait.
  2. I've got a Miravel 2500 and while I haven't gotten it on the water yet - bass season doesn't open for 16 more days - bench-testing has been very promising. If you want to save a bit - Digitaka has the 2500 for $116 - no tax or shipping charge, but being JDM getting warranty repair if it needs it is questionable.
  3. Just don't trust the placements at the moment... My Entry screen shows Feider at 61st. Official weigh-in screen shows him at 50th.
  4. If it was 'top' or 'bottom' heavy, adding or removing shims will correct - but this is 'center bulge'. Seems to be a thing with some braids depending on the reel. Putting 10# Berkley X-9 on a Lews Wally Marshall Signature 100 (crappie reel), and I had the same thing happen - doesn't seem to affect casting though.
  5. Keeping it simple this year. Get out more often - as last year it was only 6 times, that should easily be attainable. New LM-PB - given my current is under 5# and there are 7# in the local lakes...this is a real possibility.
  6. Even the lighter test weights are strong. Out crappie fishing, couldn't loosen a snag so pulled to snap off...took quite a bit of strength to get it to break, and that was with 6# test. Siege is my mono of choice...
  7. Website glitch? I hope my choices are still locked in.
  8. I don't know about others - but I run the handle on the right cause my BCs are all righties and it'd confuse me switching retrieve hands when I switched from casting to spinning.
  9. Probably - take it back to Cabelas...they mucked it up, they gotta fix it.
  10. Ya, I saw that on another site - one of those checklist items you need to go through.
  11. Final arrival from my order - same one the crappie lures came in a few days ago, just shipped in multiple packages. Couple more crappie jigs and plastics, then a couple 3/8oz bucktail jigs for bass as well as some line...small purchases lately.
  12. 4.58oz - I have one, and that's weighed on my digital scale.
  13. It's such a natural with me I keep forgetting to say it. Everything except braid gets treated with KVD.
  14. Another one is the Okuma Reflexions 'B' series - I've got a couple 'A' series and they're good rods.
  15. Older Pfluegers are definitely better. I've got a Supreme, President and Trion that are 4+ years old and are excellent. I stopped buying Pfluegers when they ravaged the baitcaster line...now all they have is the President XT....I WANT PATRIARCHS. Moving to Shimano for spinners and Daiwa for baitcasters for any new purchases...though I'm keeping my two Patriarchs and my Supreme XT for casting reels.
  16. Two words "Yard Sale"
  17. Hope you didn't really mean that, Andy. Anyway, welcome to Herr Fowler - pull up a chair and sit a spell...there'll be plenty of options for drinks.
  18. Boat - Russ - for the boat. Me - my pull-cord works just fine...advantage of a smaller motor.
  19. Either way, I've made it harder for them I recorded the key-codes on paper - kept with my important files...then used my Dremel with a grinder bit to 'erase' the codes from the locks themselves.
  20. Since I keep the trailer spare in the truck - the lock on the topper suits. Same here - makes it simple The 'pros' have rings of keys - realize there's only so many variations in key cutting available - and the lock usually has the key-code printed on it. All they have to do is read the code from the lock, and run through their collection to find the matching key. Not to be paranoid or anything....
  21. Nice ride there, man. I'll have to take a 'beauty shot' of the truck/boat combo this year.
  22. Same as I do with my truck - the spare is the exact same brand/model as what I'm running.
  23. It did for a while with me - then it started up again when I switched to (non existent) Co-Angler Page then back to Weigh In. Done now: Benton Shryock Fujita Walters
  24. Write to Loomis and ask?
  25. I got Cobb and Walters still in it...Pat's still got a shot at #1.
