Jon boat must haves
If you mean 8# - nope - go with 15# minimum. I've got two 20# anchors for my 14' so I can anchor stern and bow to lock my orientation as well as position. 50' Is plenty for small/shallow ponds. If you plan on fishing bigger lakes, get 100' right off the bat.

Does anyone use Gel Cell batteries?
Just be sure to get a good charger that's lithium compatable Personally - I'd spend the money (and I did) getting a NOCO Genius. They have several models that can simultaneously charge from 1 to 4 batteries and they're compatible with Wet-Cell, Gel, AGM and Lithium

Well, there's plenty of rivers in WI - and the limit on White, Rock, and Yellow bass there is....No Limit - so ya, 'boat loads' is allowed. https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/Fishing/regulations/dailybag.html

Does anyone use Gel Cell batteries?
While there's not much difference between LiFePo4 batteries, I'd go with the one that's more 'generic'. https://www.homedepot.com/p/MIGHTY-MAX-BATTERY-ML100-12LI-12-Volt-100-AH-Deep-Cycle-Lithium-Battery-ML100-12LI/315039944 100ah should be more than sufficient - one of my trips last year, I put about 3 hours on my 45# Edge and my 100ah MM AGM was only about 20% discharged.

Winter 2022-23
Astronomical spring anyway - meteorological spring has been here for a while already "Meteorological spring – March 1 through May 31 – is the transition between the three coldest and three warmest months of the year." https://www.wunderground.com/article/science/weather-explainers/news/2023-02-27-meteorological-spring-equinox

https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fish/whitebass/index.html "White bass are common in the Minnesota River, the St. Croix River below Taylors Falls, the Mississippi below St. Anthony Falls and major tributaries, such as the Cannon and Zumbro rivers. Fish also are found in reservoirs on these river systems and in several lakes in southern Minnesota."

Rod Arsenal
^^ RW has it spot on.

Line capacity on spinning reels
For casting - ya, 75-80yds should be more than sufficient - backfill with cheap mono. My pitching reels I only put 50yds on.
-
Got a line question...what line do you crank with?
I'm the odd-ball - 12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid.

PFD should be #1 on any list for a boat - before anything else.

Dobyns Fury vs Bass X vs Mojo
My local Fleet Farm has them in stock...I played with it a bit there and like 3 things about it above the Fury 1: Lighter - 3.6oz vs 4.3 (16% reduction in weight) 2: More balanced - they let me temporarily put a reel on it for some testing. 3: I think the faster tip will help with hook-sets. And it's not much more for the Mojo - $150 vs $130 for the Fury.

Looking for an inexpensive spinning rod for tossing a 2lb wireless sonar sensor from bank
Rod I posted above will handle that as long as you don't try 'for the fence'...just a good lob should get it out far enough.

Dobyns Fury vs Bass X vs Mojo
Mojo 6'10" MLXF - that's the one I've picked to replace my 702SF next year (out of funds this year).

We're still at 30 here - they make a decent meal Something new this year here - we're allowed to harvest Gar now...why? Who knows.

we doing corned beef tomorrow?
Wait - what? There's people who boil their brisket?

Any particular new lure you plan to use this year?
Another site had this "Estimated arrival : End of March(Arrival dates are supplied by the manufacturer and are subject to change.)" So the 'out of stock' everywhere is because they haven't received any yet.

2023 winter, I am putting fishing on back burner.

Alternative Spinnerbait Colors ?
White/Chartreuse have worked season long for me...bass in my profile pic was caught on a 3/8oz White/Chartreuse spinner with Berkley Pit Boss trailer in Skeet's Chartreuse Shad color on 31 July 2019. I haven't had near that luck with 'natural' colors - bluegill, green pumpkin, etc.

Dobyns Fury Series Spinning Rod
Pretty close to what I'm running on mine. 2500 size reel, 20#Hi-Vis Smackdown, 10#FC leader.

Dobyns Fury Series Spinning Rod
Ditto the above - go with the 702.

Looking for an inexpensive spinning rod for tossing a 2lb wireless sonar sensor from bank
Reel should handle that - I'd go higher braid to be sure. Standard heavy power rods only go to 1.5 oz...for a 2oz weight you're looking at an inshore or surf rod...this'll handle it and for under $50 https://www.tackledirect.com/penn-squadron-iii-inshore-rods.html

Shipping Problems?
The line is green - some Sufix 832 that was already marked down 40% for the Spring Fishing sale. Lures however - several Rapala Rap-Vs and some Northland Deep-Vee bucktail jigs.
-
Shipping Problems?
Nope - just a regular guy...I don't even know anyone who works there. Another order made today - they had a 'scratch off' for St Pats day for members of their Rewards Program - I got 20% off my order....some line, a couple lures. It's already out the door and I should have it tomorrow.

Maximizing your prespawn time on water......learning from mine and maybe other's mistakes
Ya - I'm like "what's this pre-spawn everyone talks about?"
