  1. Still haven't mounted the reels for this season yet - but here's my rods at least. Not as big a 'collection' as A-Jay, but it gets me through.
  2. I'm with Jig - properly cared for, you should get decades of use out of a set of bearings. I've got one reel here that I don't use anymore, mainly because it's all plastic (even the spool), super-low IPT, and heavier than any of my other reels...but I could use it if needed. 40 years old, original bearings, and it's still functional.
  3. Lack of workers - local store lost 1/3 of their employees due to various things including COVID, so installed 6 self-checkout slots in place of 3 regular lanes.
  4. The place to put up items for sale is the 'Flea Market' topic. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/18-fishing-flea-market/
  5. Call centers probably - trying to sell you something. I've gotten 2-3 times as many 'sales calls' per week since the pandemic started than in any year previous to that.
  6. SW Metro - probably Eden Prairie or Chanhassen - those are the places building up recently. Course there's some empty buildings in the Jonathan Park area of Chaska too...maybe it's there. I know the old Softsoap facility is at about 30k ft-sq...I use to work for Minnetonka Corp and Softsoap was one of the subsidiaries.
  7. They're basically a bunch of fishing geeks that started a business in 2018 with some venture capital. They are also going to be expanding - from an article in the Minneapolis section of BizJournals dated March 10, 2022. "Later this year, Omnia will also move into a 30,000-square-foot warehouse in the southwest metro. (It currently operates out of a 6,000-square-foot warehouse.)" Won't be that convenient for long, buddy.
  8. Mike, you're endangering my wallet!
  9. Looks a little more appetizing than Lutfisk....but not much....ya, I checked the recipe.
  10. I use a Pit Boss just about everywhere and with multiple techniques. T-Rig, Bubba Shot, trailer on jigs and chatters - it's really a good, multipurpose plastic.
  11. I get less expensive spinners because of budget. But I'm very happy with the Strike King Banshees from DSG...I've got 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 oz in 3-4 colors each.
  12. As I've said before - several times....my finances determine that I have to stay here...can't afford to move.
  13. I'd love for it to actually show up, Tom High today was 35 - currently it's 25 and still falling.
  14. This is what WE have to look forward to this week.
  15. I hate you... What little open water we had closed up again. Lows in the teens, highs in the 30s the past couple days.
  16. Pick a day....any day.
  17. That'd sure take care of traffic jams - there wouldn't be many vehicles on the roads.
  18. About that - I'm working like mad (and having to re-do things occasionally) to get it done before bass opener. Would like to have it on the water before that for final testing and tweaks if needed.
  19. Wife is suffering a migraine, so did fairly quiet things today...otherwise I would have been doing 'bang-bang' as I set some more drive-rivets...and the back end of the garage is directly under the bedroom. Rear light post-socket is installed - made a template, marked where I wanted to drill the 1-1/4" hole, drilled that, then with the socket clamped in place marked the holes for the mounting screws with a transfer punch, drilled and tapped for #6-32, and installed with some Blue Loctite - only had 2 screws sitting around, need a third. Made a template and cut out some 1/4" FRP to make the stern wall of the rod-locker. Epoxy is setting now which is why the clamps. Will fill the gap by the hull with some latex caulk. The cross supports for both the battery tray and the TM deck are in...my miter-saw is at the other end of the basement so not an extreme amount of noise gets to the bedroom. The cardboard is the completed template for the TM deck...the template for the battery tray is also done. And lastly, the dry boxes are done. The FRP is epoxied to the frame and a bead of latex caulk seals all the interior join-points. Still have to finish securing the main side-support runs to the hull (reason for 'bang-bang'), put in a few more lengths of 1x1 angle...then run the wiring where it needs to go before making templates and cutting/fitting the deck sections.
  20. "Tank, Kya...daddy needs lots of kisses...."
  21. I'm the same - not just weightless, but light weight wacky, neko and shakey (1/8oz and less) I run on straight 8# InvizX.
  22. That's what I do - only Edge boxes I have were gifts...rest of my boxes are either ProLatch or Elite series.
  23. This next week is a return to early winter. Highs in the 30s and 40s, lows at or below freezing - and a good chance of snow too.
  24. They're so close that it really doesn't matter.
