  1. I was busy taking care of the wife.
  2. Probably cause of the way the photos are taken - ya, someone could PS the extras in the frame into the photos...but it's the best we can do. And the home office (I don't deal with a local agent, I deal direct with the main office) does call occasionally, and I've had an adjuster come out a few times since I got the policy to do a walk-around...just checking that what I stated as replacement value wasn't inflated. They've gotten to 'know me', and trust my judgement...36+ years, one claim...never tried to 'fleece' them.
  3. Oh ya - but we set it to over the replacement cost of our items and update it yearly. Currently it's about $5k above what it'd cost to replace everything in the house...furniture, clothing, appliances, and the stuff I listed above. If our house burned down tomorrow, the policy would pay for rebuilding and replacing everything. If we're robbed, replacement of stolen items. Had this policy with the same company for over 36 years...one claim (hail damage) back in 2001 of which I payed zero out of pocket.
  4. If you were told that by your insurance broker...get a different broker or agency. My policy covers "all personal property within the house" - no added premium, no need to show documentation before-hand...long as we have pictures and an itemized list when the adjuster comes, I'm good. That's another reason I track all my fishing gear in Excel. We've got other files for things like furniture, art, books, etc, with pictures of the major stuff - like the wife's Lladro Statues. We copy the files to a Cloud Account so we can access from anywhere.
  5. And something's cropped up with the wife...gotta do things in the morning. Sorry guys...gotta bow out of this month's chat.
  6. If I was to watch anything...it'd be the Biathlon...mainly because that's how I hunted rabbit in the winter up in the Bemidji, MN area...cross-country skis and my Savage 6A .22 rifle. My hunting partner was on snow-shoes with his Ruger 10-22.
  7. From Berkley "The thermally, micro-fused Dyeema® fibers " https://www.berkley-fishing.com/pages/berkley-fishing-line-confusion From In-Fisherman "FireLine was introduced in 1996. It's not a braid (weave), rather a linear bundle of polyethylene micro Dyneema fibers that are thermally fused" "By comparison, because of the thermal fusing, FireLine has a smoother exterior than braids. It also has slightly more diameter than comparable break-strength braids, although it's still very thin." https://www.in-fisherman.com/editorial/fused-line-new-alternatives/153375 How much more accurate does it need to be?
  8. Back to the original question. 4-carrier and 8-carrier braid may be the same (or close) diameter for a given line-test. The difference is that the individual strands of 4-carrier are going to be thicker than those of 8-carrier. With thicker base-strands, the 4-carrier isn't going to be as supple as the 8-carrier...11-13 carrier braids are even more supple. Main issue is price - the more strands the braid has, the higher the cost to make...and that cost is passed on.
  9. Virtually identical. Tatula CT has the T-Wing and two more bearings....in the handle knobs, so no real benefit. Frame, spool, main gears are all the same. Course if you're patient - I've got two Patriarchs that I got from the ALF used area for under $100.
  10. Fleet Farm still has 4#-12# for the 19.99 price, 15# is 21.99 - 20# and 25# are more. https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/seaguar-invvizx-fishing-line/0000000258377
  11. Three basic materials are used in modern braid...though two are very close to each other Dacron - Polyethylene terephthalate, also known as PET plastic Spectra - Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (HMPE) or Micro-dyneema - another HMPE, slightly different formulation. They're all polymer plastics, drawn into strands and woven. None is really any better than the other, the main differences lie in the specific manufacturing process. Berkley Fireline (fused line) is also made of Micro-dyneema, but instead of being woven together, the strands are laid down and fused into a whole. It's a bit larger diameter per pound test than woven braid because of the manufacturing process. Really, it's personal preference which you use as they all have pluses and minuses. As RW said, Smackdown is the current leader...but I'd look at Sufix 131 as well...lots of panfish guys up here swear by it for both diameter and suppleness.
  12. InvizX isn't THAT far below Tatsu. I run 8# on a President XT-30 and 6# on an Avocet RZT-1000. Very manageable and not too expensive. I buy mine at Fleet Farm for $19.99 a spool.
  13. Yep - that and the different paint job is the 'upgrade' from the standard Pres XT to the Limited Edition.
  14. You need something portable. Background - desktop monitor and keyboard Foreground - my 10year old (but still works great) HP Mini-110 Netbook - Dual-core Atom, 2gb ram, 1tb HD (upgraded from original 320gb)
  15. You are correct - the President XT as well. I upgraded mine to carbon-fiber.
  16. Dean's lost without his Outlook. I stay away from Micro-snert products as much as possible...for this type of reason.
  17. That seems to be typical with Pflueger - my President-25, President XT-30 and Supreme-30 all have slightly different angles on the handle.
  18. Find a Diawa Fuego CT, Diawa CA-80, or Shimano SLX on sale...you can usually find them under $100 with deals or on Amazon. All good reels (I've got 2 of the first, 1 of the second...the third is recommended by people here).
  19. Dean, don't forget to check the group-list once your 'sentence' is over. (runs and hides)
  20. The send at 9:44 came through - we're good.
  21. You accidentally drop me off the list - checked spam, trash, etc....I got nothing this month. There it is....
  22. If you're able to stand up, I don't see a problem. I was able to do flipping and pitching from a canoe which has higher gunwales... the main impediment to those techniques.
  23. I think he was asking about the 131, not the 832 which does come in several colors.
  24. I don't have an XT, but I do have the base Supreme. The metal frame means less torsion twist than the graphite frame of the President..this is a big plus if you hook into a hawg.
  25. Just Lo-Vis Green for now...they might add more colors in time.
