  1. X3 - I've dumped all my Power Pro and gone to 832 for all applications.
  2. If it's in the slop - 20# minimum (what I have on my MH spinning rig) - 40#+ preferably (minimum braid I put on a BC)
  3. What notification? I haven't seen anything from Dean yet.
  4. I didn't include my Leatherman in this list cause it's part of my EDC - never leave home without it.
  5. For a minute I thought you were talking Minnesota. BTW: Fish are great eating...if you get them at the proper time of the year, and the proper size (based on species) (firm believer in selective harvest.)
  6. My tablet - I don't have maps on my sonar, so I run Navionics on the 8" Samsung Galaxy which was in a clamp mount on the canoe - still deciding on how I'll mount it in the F-9.
  7. Ya - the few times I caught walleye were late evenings or early mornings...between dusk and dawn/sunset. I'd occasionally take a tent/sleeping bag with me in the runabout on weekends and camp the night on Wauwatosa (Boy Scout) Island...so I'd be fishing later/earlier than my normal fishing days.
  8. The Falls beat out Embarrass? How embarrassing.
  9. Well, all I know is that one neighbor told me his freezer has been restocked with a limit of 18"-20" walleye - all taken on Minnetonka in the last month. Maybe it depends on which bays you're fishing...I dunno. I know that when I had the runabout, I'd catch them in Cooks and Halstead Bays much more often than in Harrisons, Smiths and even Spring Park...maybe they like the SW parts more than others. All I know is what I hear from the guys who live in my neighborhood and go out...they all get decent walleye out of 'Tonka year round.
  10. Ya - pretty regular occurrence actually. Pike and walleye are two big targets through the ice here...besides the panfish which are huge targets. There are occasional bass pulled up, but they're not targeted near as much.
  11. We had this discussion a couple years ago... Consensus was - build your own or use rail-mounted holders instead of a crate...for some reason the crate manufacturers/suppliers want the rods held at a high angle.
  12. I'm not making a prediction, but it sure would be nice to see Seth lift that trophy again.
  13. Is your good buddy Steve one of them?
  14. You're very welcome, Marty. Anything we can do to help these kids is a good thing.
  15. If you're running that through the slop - 40# 832, no leader - that's what I use.
  16. Did you read the whole thing, Chris? He even posed in front of it...it's just guys given a friend a hard time...and he's fine with it. We could get a headline done for you... "Minnesota semi-celebrity fisherman abandons state for warmer climate."
  17. At my age - if I need something at Michaels, I just go and get it...I don't care if I get funny looks. You could always go in 'work clothes' - then no one would bother you. I refuse to give any money to HL - reasons.
  18. Just bite the bullet and go with Seth. I would have also had Austin (the other local boy), but he was in Group A with Seth.
  19. Enjoying time on the lake, free from the hassle of 'real life'. If I catch something, it's a bonus.
  20. Our local school used to be the 'Mohawks'...then someone got up in arms and now it's the 'White Hawks'.
  21. Actually, Tom - up until 25 years ago or so, a local radio station parked a car on Lake Minnetonka and set up a contest. Whoever guessed closest to the date and time the car fell through, got a prize...usually tickets to all the concerts coming to town the next 12 months plus lots of station 'bling'. Then the DNR stepped in and told them to 'cease and desist'. I don't think they ever pulled the cars out again...not sure.
  22. 20# on a spinning reel? I use it in 6# As backing on my spinning reels - never would use it for main-line....but it's probably the cheapest (in all senses of the word) available for backing.
  23. Good investment - locks the hitch and the coupler...same key works with both. Yes, I have this pair. https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-2848DAT-Receiver-Coupler/dp/B0009V1WSE/ref=sr_1_12?crid=2XO14W72C04YV&keywords=master+lock+trailer+lock+set+keyed+alike&qid=1643897120&sprefix=master+lock+trai%2Caps%2C162&sr=8-12
  24. What if you're like A-Jay with his Old Town canoe - hauls it 1/2 mile or more down a trail to launch. You gonna do a 1-mile round trip...twice...just to keep the dolly out of the back of the kayak?
  25. I think I know the answer to that...
