Best line on Amazon?
Forget Amazon Right now there's deep discounts on various lines at Tackle Warehouse though Jan 8...cheaper than you can get them off Amazon. There's been horror stories of line bought off Amazon - not the right stuff, seems to already have been used then just re-wound...etc. Buy your line from a tackle store, not the monstrosity.

Go-to saying before setting the hook
"Wait for it..." Gives the bass that extra second to get the hook placed properly so when I haul back/sweep - the hook gets set.

Dobyns fury 703c compared to BPS Carbonlite 2.0 7' M-F
Dobyns casting rods are actually one rank down from others. 3 is actually a medium, 4 is actually a medium heavy and 5 is actually a heavy compared to Diawa/Okuma/etc. 703 is a great jerk/wacky rod. You'd want the 704 for spinners/chatters.

Fishing pants
YOU need pants to keep the rest of us sane.

Is there anything that compares to the Shimano Nasci at the $100 price point?
To each their own, sir. The shore-fishing reel I'm putting 6# on only holds 110yds, the two reels I'm putting 10# on...again 110 yds of that. These are the types of capacities I prefer to work with...100-120 yds of my preferred line for the reel. Others have different preferences...have at it...

Post a photo a day!
I'd go with Rob Zombie.

Mapping Apps
Nothing free. I used I-Boatings app on my tablet last year, but they upped the yearly subscription fee so I'll be going with Navonics this year. You might keep the maps after your subscription expires, but the GPS tracking becomes 'wonky', and they bug you incessantly to buy the subscription again.

Jika Rig Sinker Choices?
I haven't used a Jika rig, but I think using a Dipsy would change the action as the water flow around the wider width would be different. Personally I think a slim Drop-shot sinker would be better...less turbulence behind it.

Maybe next year - I'm set with my rigs for this coming season - 5 BCs and 5 spinners for the canoe, 1BC and 2 spinners for shore fishing.

If they do - it's probably JDM. I've been happy with my Pfluegers and Mitchells - been using those brands for 50+years. Until they really fail me, I'll be getting those as they have the spool sizes I like.

Plano 3700 Thin boxes
I've got a Brother P-Touch I use for all my labeling. Boxes get labeled Then the compartments are labeled. For most of my lures, I put the name, weight and running depth on the label so I know exactly what I'm pulling out without having to memorize everything.

I'm looking to upgrade and every Diawa spinner I've looked in the price-range of choice has the 'D' spools.

Where does this SLX MH/F fit amongst my Dobyns rods?
I like having 2 MH/F rods in the canoe. One is rigged with a spinner or chatter to start, the other with a jig. This year I'm adding a MH/F spinning rig so I'll have 3 setups rigged and ready. Makes it quicker to change techniques without having to retie.

new Garmin 93sv
ALWAYS use a fuse, especially when direct-connecting. The battery is designed to output 50amps or more of power for a deep cycle...hundreds of amps for a starting battery. The fuse is like a circuit breaker on your house - protect the devices from getting too much power. In my case, I have the 5amp breaker on the MinnKota box, a 5amp fuse on the accessory plug, then the in-line fuse that came with the sonar - so triple protected from surges.

new Garmin 93sv
I would NOT use a charger to directly power any type of DC electronics.

BPS buys SW.
Zoom plastics - they got a wider color selection than TW does. Newest reel - Pres XT Limited for $50. I do like the BPS Extreme Qualifier bags - holds more boxes than the Plano bags in a way that still fits under the center seat of my canoe. BPS 370 boxes - more compartments than a Plano 3700 - my personal pick for terminal tackle. That's it...everything else I'd need I can get elsewere.

Fishing pants
Whelp - turn around and get one that works...day is ruined if I can't have a smoke. I go with the SPF 50 fishing shirt (got 4 as a gift from a member) and the light color twill pants. I burn something terrible, so shorts are right out. PFD is always worn.

Fishing pants
Wrangler Twill cargo pants - my go-to for years. Lightweight, reflect most of the sun's heat, comfy, LOTS of pockets. https://www.wrangler.com/shop/wrangler-legacy-cargo-twill-pant-in-grain-70LEWGR.html
