  1. I have to say I mostly bounce between Stage 2 and Stage 3...with both being immersed in Stage 4. I don't get much time on the water to begin with - 4 hours in the canoe is a LONG day because of the home situation. So I always have rigs ready to go the night before and pretty much stay with them the entire time out. Of my 10 rigs, I might change lures on 1 or 2 of them during an outing - so Stage 4 is a big part of my fishing. I know I need to be more adaptable, it's just that when you have limited time - changing lures seems to be a time-waster...I could get 4-5 casts/retrieves done in the time it takes me to change out. Need to work on that...
  2. Goes from sign language, to Simon to Steve - come on, Kent...make up your mind.
  3. I think my first walleye was also on a Lazy Ike - mid 70s, first summer in Bemidji...lakes I'd fished in Mass before the move to MN didn't have any.
  4. I've got a pair of Bluetooth earbuds with built in mic for my Galaxy phone - might have to look into that for your I-Phone. Or put the phone in speaker-mode and use the built-in mic.
  5. I don't even have to enter the passcode. Zoom is on my Tablet - open the e-mail, click the link and I'm in. Just have to make sure my earbud/mic is plugged in properly.
  6. My relatives have. I'm 61 and between the parents and the in-laws...over $1000
  7. Yep - won't show the 10% off until the final invoice. Like my latest TW order (Had a $100 gift card I used for most of it, so it shows more than normal discount) Order Confirmation - Balance:77.06 Invoice - Payment Method: Visa/Master Card = 59.34
  8. Or at least the 705 As Bull says - a 3/4oz jig with trailer is going to go over 1oz...while you COULD use the 704 with care, it's definitely not ideal.
  9. Part of the order using the FIL's gift card finally came in - still waiting on one package. Refill of the Little Dippers - I was down to 1 Shiner left Last of the Fat Albert Twin Tails - gives me 4 colors And yes - I drank the Senko Kool-Aid - 5 colors in 5" Just waiting on the rod now.
  10. I'm putting a Supreme on mine for bottom contact - the Patriarch is going on one of my remaining Aird-Xs for moving baits. Reason? Supreme is 29IPT, the Patriarch is 32IPT - slower reel for bottom work, faster one to burn spinners/chatters better.
  11. Longer rod ... longer casts. Shorter rod ... more accuracy Depend on what the person wants. As a canoe angler, I like the accuracy aspect more...which is why I went with the Fury 704C (more in my budget).
  12. I occasionally 'threaten' the wife that I'll take mine out and leave it on the mantel in the LR so I can 'keep an eye on her' when I'm in the basement.
  13. Not all, my friend...I've heard things like that happening in my area.
  14. Saw a vid recently - I think it was one of Glenn's - they were using Mr Twister singletails for smallmouth, got into a swarm, lost all the tails - used the tailess 'grubs' and kept on catching them. Food for thought.
  15. That's alright - I'll just 'pop' the replacement out and bounce it off your forehead.
  16. Those look fine for tossing back in the bag for re-use to me.
  17. I've caught burbot (eelpout), but they're more prevalent in the northern part of the state. Yearly International Eelpout Festival is held on Leech Lake - not far from where I lived in Bemidji...my college girlfriend kept her 24' Ketch at Walker Bay. State record is 19#10oz...
  18. On Tonka - walleye, muskie, northern, crappie are the big four. No trout in the lake, bass are infrequent through the ice. Sunnies galore though.
  19. Yep - unfortunately there seems to be more and more people who've shut down their conscience and just go with what benefits themselves without thought to anything else.
  20. Looking at BPS/Cabelas Canada - right now they have the St. Croix Premier split-grips on sale for $160. Other options would be a St Croix Bass-X or a Diawa Tatula.
  21. ^ What he said - could be anything from a $55 Aird-X to a $590 Steez...and that's just Diawa.
  22. I've found the same after I purchased a digital scale a couple months ago...I'm just going to be a bit more laid-back about it myself - if it's close, it's good enough.
  23. @J Francho - John, that's your neck of the woods. Any help for the gentleman?
  24. I'm still having left-over Prime Rib for lunches. Dinners - mother-in-law sent us a Omaha Steak box with nothing but meat - no taters, no deserts...that's just fine.
