  1. Why yes, yes it is...traded it in for a Mitchell 320 not too long after this pic. Stayed with spinners for a decade-and-a-half before trying BCs again.
  2. This was either 1967 or 1968 - can't remember exactly, but the car behind us was a '67 model, so no earlier.
  3. Wacky rig for me is on my Avocet with 8# Mono. Weightless or light-weight T-Rig is on the Trion with 10# Yo-Zuri. 12# on a medium spinning reel is usable, but not ideal. T-Rigs 1/2 oz or over are on the President with 20# braid - I don't use a leader.
  4. I'm loving my Fuego - great reel for the price.
  5. Second thread that's exactly what he got...good advice from several of us. And he peed all over it and got insulting...again.
  6. He did the exact same in a second thread - now deleted. It's like he's choosing to be confrontational. How long he's going to last in BR is anyone's guess.
  7. Put a bead in front of the weight and it'll reduce the salad pickup...it's worked for me.
  8. And another thread by 'subject' bites the dust...makes you wonder.
  9. As someone who upgraded his canoe, I totally support upgrading 'lesser' vessels. Nice job, man.
  10. Without a picture...sounds like an offset circle hook. Use those in place of regular circle hooks if you don't plan on tossing the fish back. They have a higher chance of gut-hooking the fish than regular circle hooks. https://www.carolinasportsman.com/fishing/offset-off-center/
  11. Do we put a sign out? 'Troll needed, apply inside.' SMH
  12. It was just more of the same - only the 'subject' was getting more incensed and insulting.
  13. Well, if you weren't always out fishing, maybe you'd get in on the 'good stuff'.
  14. I can't state on the supposed intelligence, but I can state that the social skills need adjustment.
  15. I just sat back and watched the 'train wreck' in process in that thread. I knew I didn't have to 'contribute' to have it happen.
  16. They're in a strip mall, north frontage road of 394/12 between 494 and Cty 101 in Wayzata...just a bit east of Village Chevrolet.
  17. Should have gone with 'Tidal Waves' - then the bass can't see you sneaking up on them as it'd blend with the water.
  18. I've got a Sun Dolphin Scout SS - it's a 14' canoe with 3 seats. It weighs 84 lbs, so can be wrangled by one person, but the big part is that it has a load capacity of over 700 lbs...plenty for 2 adults, 1 kid and gear - though it might be a bit cramped for space. It's also sold as the Field and Stream Scout at either F&S stores or Dick's - made by KL Outdoor (KL Industries), Sun Dolphin is their home brand.
  19. Plano Prolatch 3600 size - various styles. Hard tackle goes in a Cabela's Advanced Angler bag (6 boxes), soft baits go into a Plano Weekender (4 boxes)
  20. You'd think so - but some agents really couldn't give a rip. Now in some states, the seller has to fix all items marked in the inspection before the sale can go through - it's like that here in MN. Check with your state regs to see if that's true there. If it isn't - it might not be ethical for the agent to sell...but it's legal. Another way the realtor can get out of it is if they sell it 'As Is'...then the buyer is responsible for the maintenance costs. <- Dad was a home inspector before he retired...I've heard the horror stories.
  21. I'd spend a few more bucks and get a Cabela's Advanced Angler II Bag - the Magnum size holds 8-3700 size boxes in the main compartment, and the front and side pockets hold a 3600 size each - so that's 4-3600 boxes. I have the Advanced Angler large size (6-3600s in the main and one more in the front pocket) and it seems very durable. https://www.cabelas.com/product/fishing/tackle-storage/tackle-bags/pc/104793480/c/104777280/sc/104619780/cabelas-advanced-angler-ii-bags/2913990.uts?slotId=1
  22. Unfortunately, like in MN it's illegal to transport live fish from one water to another unless you get a permit. From the Illinois Fishing Regulations Handbook - https://www.ifishillinois.org/regulations/2019FishingGuide.pdf "It shall be unlawful to: 1) import or move live aquatic life without securing permission from the Department"
  23. That's it...I'm old even though my mom says I can't be. Turn 60 before the year is out.
  24. I don't cinch it down until everything is in place...loop over the hook/lure. Then wet it and slowly tighten it. If it's mono or FC, if you don't lubricate it (spit works best) then the line will heat up during the tightening and weaken the knot. I also don't cinch it hard, just enough to tighten the knot.
  25. Even the 'little' anchors haul up junk. I've got a 1.5 lb, 4-fluke, collapsible anchor for the canoe. Have it on a length of 550 paracord. Sometimes I haul up a mess of weeds with it.
