  1. Hull ID numbers have to follow a certain format - reading the Pond Prowler's number is the same as the Sportsman...or my Scout SS (also a Sun Dolphin) The month-year of my Scout is E717 - so May 2017 was the production date and it's a 2017 model.
  2. #3 IS 1/4 oz - here's the size/weight charts from Mepps Aguila Sz Weight 0 - 1/12 1 - 1/8 2 - 1/6 3 - 1/4 4 - 1/3 5 - 1/2 Comet Mino Sz Length Weight 0 - 1.25" 1/9 1 - 1.875" 1/6 2 - 2.5" 1/4 3 - 2.5" 5/16 4 - 3" 7/16 5 - 3" 1/2 I've always found that my Mepps lasted longer than the Roostertails I'd purchased...now I go with nothing but Mepps.
  3. As long as the pond doesn't suffer oxygen deprivation in the winter and there's forage (Bass?) for it, then it should survive just fine. Just don't expect it to reach 'trophy' size - it'll be limited to available forage and room.
  4. Nope - putting a label on a hardcopy of the contour map, then a notation in a notebook of all the info. I only have a 2gb data plan on my phone, so I'm very conservative in it's use.
  5. Tampering with Evidence can be a state or federal felony with prison time up to 20 years. My opinion - throw the book at this whacko.
  6. UL rig with 4# line is more than sufficient for panfish. I've even caught some 2#-3# bass on my old UL - Pflueger 640 on a 5' Ugly Stick.
  7. I would go a little more and get a Diawa Spinmatic-D. Comes in lengths from 4' to 8' in 6" increments, runs about $40 on Amazon. I have a 6'6" paired with my President 25 and it's an awesome UL rig.
  8. My main jerkbait reel is the President BC - loaded with 20# Power Pro...no leader. Haven't had an issue casting at all.
  9. TW has a VERY limited selection of all sizes. I also checked FishUSA and they have even less.
  10. Descendants of transplants. Their original native range was southern Canada to North Carolina, west to Iowa. They've been introduced as far west as Washington and Oregon and some southern states as well as Europe In Europe, they're considered an 'invasive species'...much like Asian Carp here.
  11. Sunfish species - found north of the Mason-Dixon mainly...rarely south of it
  12. Ya, but I'm a cheap bugger. Had the thermometer sitting around, 1/4 oz casting weight from my box and a length of 50# braid left over from spooling my Fuego. No money spent.
  13. (sighs) Went to Dutch - and it was already full...4 supposed parking slots for trailers and there were 6 there. So toddled up to Little Long and went out. Tried everything, Spinner, Chatter, Buzz, variety of cranks and jerks, T-Rigs, Wacky, drop-shot NOTHING - I got skunked big time. Next trip? Dunno when - it's up in the air right now.
  14. VMC or Gamakatsu hooks - worth the money. Don't need much of a sweep to set the hook on panfish. If your rod is pointed at 11 O'Clock when you want to set, just a gentle sweep to 9 O'Clock (or 1 and 3 if you sweep to the right).
  15. Up until this year, my UL rig was an old Pflueger 640 on a 5' Ugly Stick and never had an issue with setting the hook. One thing to make sure of - make sure they're quality hooks and touch them up with a sharpener to make sure they're needle-sharp.
  16. Well, Amazon has the 30 with a 6'6" medium rod for $80 - so ya, that's not too much above the OP's price limit. https://www.amazon.com/Pflueger-PRESSP-President-Spinning-Fishing/dp/B074WJF1CF/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=pflueger%2Bpresident%2Bcombo&qid=1558882625&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1
  17. 1/2 oz and less spinners - on my President with 20# braid Heavier spinners - on my Fuego with 50# braid I don't use leaders.
  18. Spinner with Colorado or Willow/Colorado blades, Chatterbait - dark colors with dark single or twin-tail grub trailers Noisy lipless crankbaits in darker colors
  19. After my last trip out, I knew I needed a couple things. So a small TW order was finagled from the wife. 1) The 'super sharp' scissors I was using to cut line for re-ties wasn't cutting it (yes, I know - sue me) on the braid - so a Boomerang snip was needed. 2) My crank/jerkbaits were getting too tangled - 4 packs of Owner treble safety caps will fix that issue. 3) The 12# FC on my Trion was not working well - 1 spool of 10# Yo-Zuri should work better. 4) After seeing how well the 4# Yo-Zuri that had been treated with KVD behaved on my Pres-25 (which was a gift...yes, the treated line came with it) I decided that YES, I do need Line Conditioner - so a bottle of KVD was added. No lures this time, just things to help me fish better and easier.
  20. That one going home to the freezer?
  21. I've got 10# Yo-Zuri on mine. Cranks/Jerks/T-Rigs 1/2 oz and under as well as Wacky.
  22. Your choices in finish are pretty much Flat, Matt and Gloss - so that's easily done. Once dry, enamel paint is pretty much indestructible unless you hit it with Mineral Spirits...I'm pretty sure it's what they use in the factory though they might bake it on which increases it's durability - not something you can do at home.
  23. First choice: if it's an rod from someone like Dobyns, St. Croix or other reputable manufacturer - especially if it's a higher end rod...contact them for a replacement. Most of them are happy to 'fix' issues like this. Second choice: If you want to fix it yourself...Testor's or Model Master Enamel paint (not the Acrylic) - available from your local hobby shop. Dab on and let dry for at LEAST 2 days.
  24. Which is why I have a freezer thermometer tied to a length of line and a weight at the bottom. Knots every foot lets me drop it to a specific depth, let it sit for a minute or so, then haul it up and get a reading at that depth.
  25. I don't see an issue - I use the GPS/Google Map function in my phone to locate catches. Over time, you can build up a profile of 'this time of year, the bass are here'. This can do nothing but help your fishing and you don't have to share them.
