Finesse spinning gear set up
My spinning finesse rig is on the lower end of the price spectrum - out of necessity because of a fixed income. Garcia Mitchel Avocet RZ-2000 on a matched 6'6" ML/F Avocet rod with 8# mono. Ned Rigs, texas rigged worms with 1/16oz weight, drop-shots and size 0-2 inline spinners get worked with this setup.

Was given a few reels, help me do some maintenance/upgrades.
If you're willing to spend a little more - the only grease I use on my reels is White Lithium. That's what I've been using since I bought them and with 2 Spinning reels closing on 40 years old and a Baitcaster that's 20+ - and all of them working like new - I think I'm doing something right.

Crankbait
Agreed. All my main jerk/crankbaiting is done on a M/M Casting rod with 20# Power Pro. Only time I switch to the M/F Spinning rod with 12# FC is LIGHT jerkbaits - 2 treble Rapalas.

Most of my orders came in, still waiting on the rod to put my new reel on...due on Monday. Also putting together another order for TW. (I'm out of control!)

Very Frustrating
It's not just the 'new' interface that riles me...it's that you can't pick and choose what updates to apply. I want control of my system...I don't want someone telling me what I need and don't need.

Very Frustrating
I moved to Firefox years ago and haven't looked back. The only Micro-snert product I use is Win-7Pro...and you'll have to pry that from my cold, dead fingers - yes, I tried Win-10 (shudders).

Small brown roostertail
I have Mepps Aqlias, Black Furys and Comets in my bag - ranging from Size 0 to Size 3. Panfish to Trout to Bass...I've caught it all on them.

Minnesota Fishing Report - 2019
I wouldn't be able to do a dinner or hit the NW Sportshow - my time constraints for various reasons prohibit it. A couple hours of a meet-and-greet over drinks would be doable though.

What is the thought process behind the micro guides?
Is that using the same reel or identical reels? Only way to be sure it's the guides.

Minnesota Fishing Report - 2019
Depending on where and when that is, I might be able to make it. Let us know.

Canoe modification
Seat arrived last Friday, so got that installed. Also made the 'Gull-wing Stabilizers. Details on blog...at some point - my internet has been flaky for the past week and it'll be Tuesday next before a Tech comes out.

Butt Seat, Chair, Nothing
Folding chair...I've tried butt-seats as a co-angler on someone else's boat...didn't like it.

Small Ratio Reels
It isn't. It gets even worse if you get a 3rd party spool to replace the original. If the new spool doesn't have the exact same specs as the original, the IPT will be different than the rated one. Gear ratio will tell you how fast the spool spins on retrieve. This remains constant no matter the spec of the spool or how much line is on the spool. IPT is constantly changing - not knowing at what point it was measured by the manufacturer, you have no idea what the actual IPT is at various spool-fill points. If the spool is 1/2" deep, then the difference in IPT between an empty spool and a full spool is 3.14" per turn.
-
Small Ratio Reels
IPT depends on two variables. - What's the diameter of the spool? - When was the measurement taken? Empty spool, half-full spool, full spool, or is it an average? Gear ratio is a constant.

BPS/Cabelas?
I picked up one of the 3600 sized bags. 7 boxes plus room for other things. At the price-point it beats the others hands down.

I've been driving Chevy trucks for 20+ years. First one was a WT-1500 that ran 18 years before an accident that totaled it. New one is a Silverado Extended Cab that's been solid for the three years I've had it so far. Good to hear you're healing. Soon you'll be back on the water.

Moses
That's how I grew up in MA. I fished to put something on the table, whether it was trout, rock bass, or yellow perch as my mainstays. Largemouth of 2-3 lbs went home as they were the best tasting. I still fish to put food on the table. Appropriate size of whatever species goes home and gets filleted.

Happy New Year
It won't be 2 beers I'll be tipping back, but 2 fingers of Tullamore Dew...at home. I don't go out for NYE, I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid.

We still have 'hard water' here. Probably till mid-April. (sighs)

Same to you, Sir. Enjoy the festivities tonight and "May you dream of large bass."

6’0” vs 6’6”
I'm the same, 6' was the 'long option'. My current rod selection includes a 5'6 UL, a 6' M-casting, 2 6' M-spinning and a 6'6 ML-spinning. New purchase - arriving any day now - is a 7' H-casting...it'll take me a while to get use to such a 'long' rod.
