Daiwa Fuego ct vs shimano caenan
I cant personally speak to the caenan other than what i've handled in stores, but I recently purchased the fuego ct. I can say that I'm more than happy with my fuego. It feels very solid and well built. Its my first experience with the magforce z braking system and i'm very impressed with its effectiveness and ease of use. Like I said, ive only handled the caenan in stores so it might not be the best representation of it, but in my opinion it felt cheap and plasticky.

Fuego CT
I was recently on the market for a new casting reel that was good quality but didn’t break the bank. So on the recommendations and reviews I read on here I went with the Daiwa fuego ct. Yesterday I took it out for the first time and I was highly impressed by it. It cast great, has a smooth retrieve, and has a solid quality feel to it. I was also impressed with the magforce z braking system as it’s the first time I’ve ever used that particular system. I was more impressed by the fuego than I was with my Revo s that I purchased last season and the Revo actually retailed for more money. So if there is anybody out there that is looking for a quality baitcaster that wont set you back a lot of money I highly recommend the fuego.

Trilene XL
I have fished xl for years on both casting and spinning gear. It’s been a good line and I can’t say I’ve had much trouble with break offs or anything like that, but it is a very soft line. Lately I’ve wanted a little more abrasion resistance, so on the recommendation of others on here I tried sufix siege on my casting rig. I must say that I’m very impressed with it. It seems to be a stronger, more abrasion resistant line but still has great cast ability. I highly recommend it.

Qauntum Iron reels
I have a Quantum IR300C (iron series). I purchased it on clearance at a kmart around here back around '03 or so. It was my first baitcaster. I still own it and fish it today. Earlier this year I tore it down and gave it a thorough cleaning (the thing was a mess inside). Since the cleaning and re-lubing its actually really smooth and easy to fish. I personally think it seems to have a solid build quality with an all aluminum frame and it was actually made in Japan.

Sufix Siege vs Sunline Supernatural
I currently use trilene xl as my baitcasting mono, but i'm thinking of trying something new. As stated in the title, i'm trying to decide between siege and supernatural. From what I have gathered siege is a high quality, good casting line that is fairly tough. What appeals to me about supernatural is the thin diameter. I dont fish a lot of rough areas and I would be spooling with either 12 or 14 lb. Do you all have any experience with one vs the other? Thanks

Abu question
I have a third generation revo s baitcaster that i'm pretty happy with. My understanding is that abu's, lew's, and a few others are all actually doyo reels that company's like lew's and abu purchase and brand as their own. My question is that on my revo reel, it says "engineered in Sweden" on the handle side plate. Do you think Abu has actually done some engineering on this reel? or is the reel totally designed by doyo and abu put that on the sideplate as more of a marketing thing? Thanks for any input.

Cleaning/Degreasing new reels out of the box
The particular reel i just purchased is a fuego ct. This is my first daiwa so i'm not sure how they generally come from the factory. I recently tore down a revo baitcaster I purchased last year and I cleaned up quite a bit of excess grease in it and it seems to be more smooth now. Maybe i'm just being to obsessive/particular about it lol.

Cleaning/Degreasing new reels out of the box
Maybe a bit of an odd question, but does anyone every clean/degrease a brand new reel out of the box? I know sometimes manufacturers will pack reels with way too much grease in the factory and was wondering if anybody actually tore down new reels and cleaned/greased them properly before fishing them? Or do you guys just fish them and do the maintenance when you feel it is needed? Thanks

Daiwa Laguna Casting Rod
Hello. Does anyone have any experience with the Daiwa Laguna casting rods? I recently purchased one from DSG to go with a recently purchased Daiwa fuego ct. It is a 7' mhf that I plan on using for general t-rig use. It was only $40 so i know i cant expect too much, but it seemed like a nice rod.
