Thoughts on Reel Magic?

I still use my dad's Sahara which is around 10 years old and it still works flawlessly.

Pflueger has great bang for buck, I recommend you get a pflueger president ($60) and put the extra $20 into your rod and get a Dobyns Fury ($100)

The only two rods I've broken were an Abu Vendetta and a Cabelas Salt Striker. The Abu break was 100% my fault and they sent me a brand new rod for free, I just had to pay the 10$ shipping. The cabelas rod I got my money back no questions asked.

What brand jigs?

Personally I use yozuri hybrid 10 lb for my crank rod, which is also a Dibyns Fury mh/f. It works great, I caught a 45 lb carp on that line and rod and it held up great.

What reel are you planning to put on the rod?

If I'm going to spend that kind of money it would be on a Gloomis or Megabass.

Right now I'm working out 6 days a week. Mondays I do lower body, Tuesdays I do upperbody, Wednesday lower body again, Thursdays upperbody, Friday lower body, and Saturday upperbody, and abs every day. What do you think of this? I'm trying to build mass.

If I'm using micro guides then I feel the knot go through but it almost never hangs up.

I fish braid to leader on most of my rods and I've never had any issues, learning the Albright knot was actually easier for me to learn than most other knots. I've broken off a few times and I've NEVER broken at the connection knot, always at the lure. I make my leader around 6 or 7 feet long because I retie quite a bit.

I haven't seen them anywhere either, I bought one of Ebay for $170 when they had the 15% off code running. It's now my new favorite rod, its beautifully crafted and by far the most sensitive rod I've fished. Although I cant compare it to the Avid x since I've never fished one before.

Have you tried the new Megabass Levantes? I think it might be a contender for a new favorite

Spot on. I use my Fury 733 for all my treble hook baits, and the 704 is a great all purpose rod.
