  1. The Daiwa Tatula Ct Type-R is an awesome reel for the price, it can be had for around $110 on eBay. I also have a Curado K and it's a pain in the butt to dial in but once you do its a pleasure to use. To be completely honest I dont know which one I'd choose. I love both.
  2. Then Itll probaly be even worse with the Tatula which is 6.3 ounces
  3. Hey guys, I'm looking at getting either a Dobyns Sierra 693 or 703 spinning rod as an all purpose finnese rod. I have a Sierra and a Fury which I love but this will be my first dobyns spinner. My only concern is that it won't balance well with super light reels, specifically a Daiwa Tatula lt 2500. Does anyone have any experience with these rods with super light reels? Thanks in advance.
  4. I agree, the reels hes using now are definetly uprgades, not sure about the rods though.
  5. Happy to hear everything worked out fine!
  6. My bag carries 3 plank boxes, I have one hardbaitbox, one jig box, and one soft plastic/hooks box. I also carry some extra packs of plastics in the other compartments.
  7. Really want one but I dont need a new combo atm. I might get the 7'5h for frogs in the future though.

  9. https://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/shimano-slx-casting-rod-reel-combo.html I'd get this combo. Any of the MH models will work best for an all purpose rod.
  10. I recommend you spool up a 1/3-1/2 the reel with cheap mono then spool the fluro on top. Itll let you spool up more reels and save some money.
  11. Daiwa tatula rod on sale for $100 at sportsman's outfitter
  12. Man that must be a tough transition! I'm restricted to the gym too as the nearest outdoor climbing is at least a hour away. Do you prefer bouldering or sport climbing?
  13. Climbing and fishing are my two favorite things to do! Are you an outdoor climber or indoor?
  14. Dobyns rods are very well put together rods, I haven't had any issues with mine. St Croixs are nice rods and a lot of people love them but personally I'm not a fan of the balance and feel. Another option you should consider is getting the Slx combo, it's a great deal.if you do go this route dont forget to sign up for their newsletter, this give you an additional 10% offf. https://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/shimano-slx-casting-rod-reel-combo.html
  15. Just about any dropshot rod will work well for ned rigs. Personally I use a Shimano Cirado 6'10 ml paired with a Tatula lt 2500.
  16. The golf course is closed every Monday so that's when I go fishing.
  17. Thanks for the advice! I am stuck on shore for now.
  18. Hey guys, Since the weather is warming up next week I plan on trying a new pond for the first time. How do you guys break down a new pond this time of year? Any baits you'd recomend? Here is a pic from Google earth of the pond.
  19. Where do you look specifically to find such big savings?
  20. https://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/shimano-slx-casting-rod-reel-combo.html I recommend you save up a little more and go this route. I dont have experience with the Slx rod but I do have the reel and its awesome! PS. The 6'10 mh, 7' mh, or the 7'2 mh will probaly the best multipurpose rod.
  21. Just do yourself a favor and Stick with Shimano and Daiwa. There is a reason these reels are so highly regarded.
  22. Thought it would be cool to see what you guys are using.
