80's Mercury 7.5
Thanks. There is a picture of the motor. I dont know what it has. He called it a power pack. All I know is that it isn't locked down, under the "hood" looks new except some dry rotted wiring.

I have a chance to buy this motor for cheap. I know the guy real good. He said that the motor ran good when he put it in storage. Now the wiring on the power pack and a few others are dry rotted and it won't start. What would it take to replace all this?

What would you do with this setup?
Just ordered a shimano chronarch mgl and a shimano expride medium heavy, fast action rod. I've got a few things in mind but would like to hear how others would put this setup to work?

Why are kayaks a thing?
I'm 6'1 and over 200 pounds. I stand in my ss127 kayak very comfortably. Even on pretty rough waters

Why are kayaks a thing?
I love my kayak. I have buddies with boats (nice ones) and really enjoy fishing with them....but I much prefer going out in my bonafide ss127 kayak. Especially when my wife is with me in hers. I like the way that it forces you to slow down and really take it all in. Plus I know of a few places that most boats cant get to that holds some big ones. The main thing for me though is just enjoying time on the water. When me and the wife get out enjoying life in our kayaks its like nothing else exists.

What's this boat worth?
I could probably get this boat for less than 500$. I figured it would be worth that, its aluminum. I dont know anything about boats though. I see little aluminum jon boats selling for 3 and 400$ all the time

Looking at getting this boat from a guy I used to work with. Trailer needs new tires, inside of the boat needs completely redone, motor is an 88 Johnson that ran when it was parked. I want to make an electric rig out of it for some small electric only lakes around here. I'm not sure about the exact size of the boat.- Can I run a sonar unit without the transducer connected?
Looking to hook up this unit to power just so I can play with it and get used to some of the controls before I take it out on the water in a couple weeks.- Am I thinking correctly (side scan angle)
I'll be sure to watch out for that, and the dry pod that it attaches to is hinged so it can be flipped up and out of the water when I get to shallow...but wont it just break off and still be attached to the wiring and to the kayak if it does get knocked off?- Am I thinking correctly (side scan angle)
Good deal. I found a video online of a guy installing a side imaging unit on the same kayak I have. I m going to need to rig up some sort of spacer for the bracket that came with the unit.- Am I thinking correctly (side scan angle)
I called again and this guy said that it was 86...so looking at my speed square what does this tell you more experienced people? Do I need to make a spacer to drop it down some?- Am I thinking correctly (side scan angle)
The guy from garmin support said 30 degree angle. I took that as 30 degree In both directions and going by this speed square I should be clear. This is my first sonar unit ever so I want it to be right the first time.- Am I thinking correctly (side scan angle)
Thanks...I just want to be sure before install everything.- Am I thinking correctly (side scan angle)

Spoke with garmin today about my transducer before I mount it to the kayak. The guy said that the side imaging comes out at a 30 degree angle. If I'm thinking correctly this should work without any sort of problems right?- CV vs GT garmin transducer
That's weird. I actually placed the order for the "on sale" unit and put in my card number and all. Everything went through and then about 10 minutes later I got an email saying it couldn't be processed. I called bass pro and asked why and they told me that its because the one they had on sale, the 93sv plus with the CV transducer was out of stock. The only one available was the 93sv plus with the new "gt52" transducer.- CV vs GT garmin transducer
I called them and they said they were sold out as well. Mine should be here tomorrow, its got the gt52 transducer but I really wish I could have saved the money by catching the sale.- Nocqua 10ah battery
I like the nocqua batteries because they are small, I would be open to other suggestions but have pretty much decided on 2 of these batteries- Nocqua 10ah battery
Anybody running these little batteries? I've read some good reviews on them. I ordered 2. I plan to run a echomap plus 93sv (9 inch screen) off of them. Can I expect to get an all day (8 hours) run time out of the 2 of these batteries? - What's this boat worth?
