Help with Lake Murray
Dont worry about catching a striper from a kayak. It's not as bad as some people think. A good one on light line will pull you around a good bit because of having to let it pull a lot of drag. But it's nothing rediculous...The only thing you really have to worry about is boat traffic. The striper should be deep right now unless you run way up a river or something and get into some much cooler current. I fish hartwell from a kayak. I've heard Murray and hartwell are pretty similar bodies of water as far as temp goes. I'm catching largemouth in grass right now both deep and shallow, the topwater bite at the break of day has been pretty productive for me to in shallow water. I've been using a sammy, and a excalibur spittin image bill dance lure somebody gave me....also caught some on a weightless fluke in smokin shad color working it real slow as well as a kvd 2.5

How to weight a fluke and still get that good action?
I appreciate the replies everybody...I have found a spot that is out of the lake and way up a river that has current and is pretty deep is why I want to weight one. I caught some on crankbaits yesterday but want to try getting a fluke in there to.

I love fishing flukes, but shallow and weightless....is there a good way to weight them and get them down to 6 or 8 feet without taking away all that erratic action?

Fishing a recently drained lake (pond)
Ha. I hear ya tnriver....they really ain't that bad. I never thought I would get into something like bee keeping. I dont even like honey that much at all. They aren't anything compared to wasps or some yellow jackets....they will sting you but I've torn apart some massive hives with upwards of 50,000 bees in it I'd say. Dig their home apart for several hours and probably only take 5 or 10 stings. Get anywhere near a yellow jacket nest and you'll get 5 or 10 stings for just looking at them sideways.

Lost my PB...
My "what would have been" was a least 10. This was probably 20 years ago. I was a kid about 10 years old and showing my sister how a crank bait worked. I was dragging it back and forth in the water while standing on the dock at a public boat ramp. A giant bass came up and flat out inhaled that sucker. I didnt know much about drag and had it locked down tight. When I set the hook........POW !!! Line broke. It was a hoss for sure.

Fishing a recently drained lake (pond)
To be honest I'm not sure. I will find out though. Crazy story how I found out about the place. The short version is that i am a bee keeper and this is a very rarely used vacation home for these folks. There is a honey bee colony under the siding. They want me to relocate the bees without any harm. I will find out all I can about the place in the next few days. I dont think it was drained down to nothing though.

Fishing a recently drained lake (pond)
I have recently gained access to a 9 acre pond. The guy said the pond was recently drained and he didnt fish before the pond was drained so he knew nothing about what was in there then or now. What are you guys thoughts? He said drained within the past couple of years. Also this is in Georgia if that makes a difference.

Line for throwing swim baits in a clear lake?
I plan on hitting a lake close to home where I know some big, but hard to catch bass are. I plan to throw some swimbaits in the 3/4 ounce range...this water is really clear. What would yall reccomend? Also there are lots of yellow perch in this lake and I can only assume that the bass feed on them because of the numbers that are there. Has anyone ever tried the live target yellow perch swimbaits? I plan to pick up a few and throw them around while I'm there.

Does a unit with down imaging also come with standard sonar?
This is also going on a kayak so I dont necessarily have to have some great mapping as I dont really cover a lot of water.

Morone lures?
Is there any way to be sure from the picture? I dont wont to insult this guy with a lowball offer but I want to tell him about the online prices I found. Cheaper is cheaper. No way around that.

Morone lures?
He calls them California trophy swimbaits. When I Google that I see them associated with that morone deal. He also has 8 or 10 sebile lures in the bunch. I am familiar with that name. I see some of those morone lures on Ebay for less than 5$. He wants more than that for them. I think I'll tell him about that and take it from there.

Are Dressed Treble Hooks Cosmetic?
Going with what angry John said we were on some hybrids not long ago and we were fishi g x raps. My buddy had a red dressed treble and mine was white. He outfished the heck out of me that day. I can fish to. I really think it was the red over white deal that day.

Morone lures?
Heck I really ain't sure. These are online for sale by an individual. I'm looking to get into some swimbait and glide bait fishing. When I asked him who makes them he said morone. I googled the name and found a few leads but not to much. The lures look pretty dang good though.

Looking for a Southern Lake
Seed lake is a beautiful north georgia lake with good fishing. The water is real clear though, light line and good lure decisions is a must. Bass and cat fishing is good, big crappie in the lake but not in huge numbers, a fish-able walleye population, bluegill and a bunch of big trout. Also TONS AND TONS of yellow perch. If you cant catch a perch in seed lake you dont even need to be fishing. Keeowee is a nice lake in south carolina. If you like smaller lakes look up places like seed, tugaloo, yonan ect....there are some nice places to be seen around here. Some of these lakes if I'm not mistaken dont have docks. Some houses but no docks.
