Hurricane Season has Arrived
Koz you got that right. Better to be safe than sorry. I used to go up that way and fish a good bit. Very nice area. The "wild" horses on the beach was the main attraction for my family. The awesome fishing is what did it for me. Yall be safe

Post a photo a day!
This is me and my niece jaylynn. My sister always texts and calls me "making sure" shes alright when we get her on the weekends. Shes a precious angel and I cant blame my sister, but sometimes I reply with pictures like these just to reassure her that everything is okay. (Just to be clear, everything about the picture is a joke, I cut and split tons and tons of wood but never with the assistance of a 3 year old) Here's a clearer picture of her and my lab. These 2 are good buddies.

Never Forget ~
I was in high school as well. It sure brought silence and feelings of sadness, anger, and rage over this unruly hormone fueled teenager. I'm 31 in a couple of weeks and I still feel the exact same way every time I think about it or see pictures of that horrible day..... GOD BLESS THE USA !!!

River Fishing ?'s
Road warrior could you elaborate a little bit about why not to fish downstream? I fish a river a good bit and usually tend to cast downstream. Not that it's the right way to do it. Just something I tend to do.

Which small game knife ?
I have a case sod buster in my pocket all the time. That sucker has done a good job of a little bit of just about every critter in the Georgia woods.

Knife Sharpener
I use a stone and a rod. Always have and get them shaving sharp. But my buddy swears by that work sharp thing.

H20 Express lures
She likes to fish to. When we first met she would go with me all the time but wasn't really in to it...... One day the fish were biting like crazy. I put a rod in her hand and it was on from there. Shes got a mean hook set to !!! Will do.

Critique my Topwater Troubles
I have only been fishing top water hard for the past couple of years so take what I say with a grain of salt. But what helps me is to remember to give the fish a little slack by pointing the rod further in that direction, I'll be paying close attention to the line as I'm taking that slack back up. When I can tell that the fish is actually swimming away with my lure I'll set the hook. It might seem like a lot but all of this happens very quickly. Like before the fish realizes that something ain't right.

H20 Express lures
Stopped by academy yesterday a saw a bunch of their lures. They looked pretty good. Anybody using them? How do you like them?

Makeshift priest?
I bop them in the head with my pliers. 9 times out if 10 it works the first time. Sounds gross but You know it works because the fish gets real tight and starts shaking. It's like a shot to the brain.

Anyone recommend a “budget friendly”pair of fishing glasses?
I've got to say Calcuttas.....I picked some up one day and love them...i have a pair of Costa blackfins with glass lenses and like the calcuttas just as good. The only reason I bought those Costas is because I found them new for REAL CHEAP online. They are super nice and all but no way I would pay full price. I do handyman work. Hahaa. ???

Fishing a muddy river?
What would yall do? I live close to a river that gets very muddy at the slightest drop of rainfall. I live in georgia and very seldom see that river cleared up. I went yesterday and only managed one good hybrid bass on a dark crank bait. Other than that I didnt get bit.

Kids these days....
Another good post.....??I think a big lack of discipline now days is a major problem. I was WIDE OPEN as a kid but i got my butt tore up if i needed it. If it wasn't bad enough for a butt whoopin i might have to sit on the couch for a couple of hours when all I wanted to do is go outside. Or i might get grounded for a week. And when I say grounded my folks would actually look at the clock and say alright, at this time on such and such day if you dont do anything stupid between now and then you can go play, but each time I have to get on to you its gonna add a day to it. And that was it. I knew for a fact that when my mama or my dad said if you do "that" here's what's gonna happen....and you can bet your whole paycheck that it was true. No questions asked I suffered some sort of consequences when I got caught doing something dumb. And guess what? I learned some big time lessons from every single butt whoopin, every single grounding, and every single time more work got added to the work I already had to do. I think that when you are a kid you are like a sponge that soaks up everything. Let the kids drive but take the dang wheel away from them before they crash.

Kids these days....
I'm 30, when we were kids mama (great cook) cooked for us and if we didnt like (or want) what was on the table then we'd just go to bed hungry. We learned real quick not to be picky eaters. Now days I'm so thankful that we was raised that way because I cant think of anything I wont eat if I'm actually hungry other than mustard. I only like that nasty stuff when it's in potato salad. Something that blows my mind about today's kids though is when they get to someone's house the first thing they do is bust out their phones to see if there is a wifi connection available. I know times have changed but dang......get your @*$% outside and see what this big world has to offer. I had some of the best times of my life because my folks made me stay outdoors when I was young.

Drinking the lake or stream water in the time of need.
Unless it was life or death.....nope. but I live in Georgia and like someone posted above I know where some natural springs are and I have been drinking water from them since I could walk. I'm 30 years old and haven't had any issues from it. Through the woods from the house where I was raised is a spring my grandpa showed me years and years ago. Sometimes I'll get up off the couch and just go to that spring, sit down and drink water from it. No phone signal, no traffic noises, just me, the sound of nothing, and a bunch of memories.

Anybody fish the oconee river in Georgia? Specifically the athens, oconee or oglethorpe county areas?
I've been kayak fishing for a while and call me crazy but I had totally forgot about a few access points I had to this river both public and private. The private ones are WAY out in the woods but easily accessible by vehicle.
