Braid to leader guy trying straight floro, couple questions
You are me! Same situation, I tried two different setups with tatsu 12lb based on it being the best money can buy. Everything I tried felt like a rubber band. Somebody said that if you start with braid to leader you'll never be able to go back to straight fluorocarbon or mono. With braid to leader every rip of a jerkbait gives you the feedback to know what's happening. I would constantly be feeling attempting to feel what's going on. I doubt I'll leave braid to leader. I've been happy with the system leader in 16, 20 & 30lb

Opinions on G loomis NRX 852s JWR
I drop shot on my 852s with braid to leader. I've never had much problem with braid to leader. Imo you don't want to cast a 6 inch senko with it though, 5 inch is maxed out. It's an extremely sensitive rod.

New G Loomis NRX Bass Rod
I'm hearing some NEW sneaky rumors about G Loomis making a change. I'm hearing a new NRX bass rod could be coming. From talking to Loomis they are talking about all NRX models not being in stock until August. While I understand the factory was closed (but now open) one wouldn't think that August would be the date, you'd think that they would be releasing some as they make them. Anybody want to participate in the rumors ?? Fyi I broke my NRX and have been waiting for a replacement. They offered me a Conquest in replace but I'm holding out to see what's next. I was hoping for a 894 but they are out of stock

Daiwa tatula lt question
2000 is super small in the Lts. I'd go 2500 or 3000. I'd also opt for the shallow spool and go braid to leader

Where should my buddies and I go for a week?
My buddies and I go to a fishing tournament ever second week of August on a small lake outside of Kingston Ontario. It's a four day tournament with about ten boats, 3 to a boat. It's fun, it's a blast and we all hang out and pre fish a few days before. It's a lake that has a shallow side mostly full of largemouth and a deeper side with smallmouth. We really enjoy the largemouth part of it. Unfortunately, it looks like Covid-19 is going to spoil our fun. The rumor as of today is that the border will continue to stay closed until the end of July and who knows after that. It's highly unlikely the tournament will remain if that's the case. So, because we already have the week scheduled off we've decided if not Canada, we will go somewhere else. By somewhere I'm considering anything within a 12 hour drive of me, Grand Rapids Michigan, my buddies are in Central PA. Now I know people are going to say that I have some of the best summer fishing nearby but I'm just not feeling it, maybe it's because I haven't fished for giant smallmouth in lake st clair or up north. I grew up fishing the Susquehanna river in central pa, I have caught lots of big small-mouth and while i greatly appreciate them, they aren't what I find nearly as fun as slinging a hook set on a green bass under a stump, also I'm not confident in that style of fishing right now. So the question is where do I go? Is there northern lakes around here that have good largemouth fish and smallmouth? Should we had down to Guntersville or Chick in the second week of August? Will that be just a beat down of heat? We're just looking to go anywhere that we can have a good time and even though it may offend some, I'm just not super confident in my offshore smallmouth fishing right now. The last thing my buddies want is to sit next to me, driving around starting at my electronics all day.

2020 Jdm Megabass P5 Destroyers
The reason I was looking for fast or extra fast is I'm replacing my 893 that was underpowered in grass. I have the first 7'3 mh and 7'2h adrenas that are already mod fast

2020 Jdm Megabass P5 Destroyers
Some retailers will be selling them. Does anybody have any opinions? I was looking at the x bites as an alternative to the nrx, conquest for jigs and worms. Am I crazy?

Moving from Nrx 893 to Conquest 4 power
What are your guys opinions on the differences? I'd be moving from an 893 that'd fantastic but underpowered in my heavy grass lakes. I typically like the length of the longer rods like the 904 but wonder if they as versatile as the 844. Is the 904 much better at single hook baits than it's shorter cousin, more sensitive feeling? Uses (braid to leader) all around heavy cover, grass Worms 5 & 6 inch weightless senkos, speed worms with 1/8 weight, light Texas rigs Jigs/swim jigs/chatterbaits (5/16-1/2oz)

Warranty nrx, looking to switch models 893,873,894
I just had my 893 tip randomly breaking when casting a senko. I didn't even know it was broke until a few casts later when I was feeling line friction while bringing my bait it. I assume grok what I read Loomis will let me switch models. While I'm in the 893 is magical camp i just constantly find myself picking up a heavier rod. My adrena 7'3 mh to be exact. The lakes i fish are grass, loaded with grass. Plus, fish Florida in the winter. The 893 just doesn't feel like it's got the horsepower to bring them out of the grass when you need to turn their heads quick, even with braid to leader. I know it's a these models have been beat up 1000 times for recommendations times but I need some reassurance. Will the jump to 873 be significant enough or would I want to go 894? To be honest, I'm not a big jigs guy. I actually like throw 5/16 & 3/8. I hardly ever throw a 1/2 oz. I like to swim the jig after it falls, most bites I get are on the fall, I feel a lighter jig is better for that. I know, the 894 is the greatest 1/2 oz jig rod but that's not necessarily what I looking to use. Will the 894 cast a 5 inch senko? I'm sure it will cast a 6, right? How light of a jig can you get away with? baring the hook is stout. Hoesntly, I'm lost because I feel like I have to have my nrx in hand but I haven't found the right bait and situation. Any input is greatly appreciated

Handles for metanium 16
I'm interested to know what handle options are out there for the shimano metanium 16
-
Please delete
I have both but my met 16 is a jdm. I could "maybe" see the previous version out casting the new one in the perfect scenario. However, I haven't actually tried that. As an original skeptic of the new version I've grown to really love it in the four sessions I've used it. I find the frame slight easier to palm and the shortened length of the frame overall is nice. I have noticed it casting a lighter 5 inch weightless senko better than the previous version. I've not noticed any overall casting distance issues. I also haven't seen any backlashes even with aggressive casting. Flipping & pitching with it is a dream. It's very bantam like, but lighter.

Braid to Flouro Leader Concern
You're saying a leader with braid offeres nothing in sparse cover compared to straight braid?

Fins 40g vs sling braid or other hi vis options
I'm interested to know if any of you have an opinion on the 40g vs the sling braid. I'm looking for something close to smackdown 40lb.( 285) diameter according to smackdown and hopefully close in smoothness but color fast. (wanting the best hi vis for bottom contact) I love smackdown but 30lb just digs for me. To be honest, fins marketing, unavailability at major stores and apparent lack of diamater truth concerns me.i just don't see many if any reviews on fins that aren't fins marketing. I appreciate any feedback you may have.
