Shorter rod to skip chatterbaits
I currently use a 7'3 posion adrena and an aldebaran mgl to throw jackhammers. I believe it's one of the best combos for that I've seen albeit it a potentially just slightly a tad too fast. This works for me fishing heavy grass areas. I just recently bought a p5 tachyon shaft for skipping worms and jigs under docks but that is likely way too heavy and fast for a chatterbait. Do you guys have any suggestions for a shorter rod to do this?

Need some help learning steelhead in Grand Rapids
I'm a die hard bass guy who's not too happy that winter is right around the corner. I recently moved to grand rapids and am looking to take advantage of the steelhead fishing. I know nothing about it. Let me know if you're in the area.

Putting a bend in your punching hook
I heard carl jocumsen say this morning that putting a bend in your punching hook makes a difference. Then Zona said bending it left or right just a degree or two is huge, what are they talking about?

Best reel for skipping jigs
Thank you. So this goes for the tatula, zillion, steez sv reels?

Best reel for skipping jigs
What makes the sv reels so much better than some of the shimanos again ? Take for instance the new curado mgl, the mgl I believe has an even more shallow spool and lighter spool. Would the steez sv tw be considered the ultimate of skipping reels? I ask because I'm a shimano fan boy but am trying to build a great skipping setup. I could use either brand.

Anyone have the Megabass P5 Tachyon Shaft?
I know it's a unique rod in the line up but I'm looking to get it for docks. I'm wondering if anyone on here grabbed one from the initial orders.

Shimano equalivanlent of the Daiwa SV styles for skipping?
Why not an aldebaran mgl for skipping? Isn't the allure of the sv the shallow spool?

Shimano equalivanlent of the Daiwa SV styles for skipping?
I don't want to slip light. I don't like the frame size of the dc reels all that much. I'm looking for an sv type reel in a shimano for dock skipping.

Braid vs floro and it's how sensitive a rod is by price point.
Another braid question. I understand sensitivity if subjective but I'm trying to get an understanding. For bottom contact how much would you said braid to leader increases total sensitivity in say a jig. For example. Is you're using a zodias with braid to leader does that compare to say a glx or nrx with straight floro. Other comparisons by rods are appreciated. Is a fury with braid feel close to an expride with floro and so on?......

Aldebaran or Metanium for Palming
I have both. The aldebaran is significantly smaller than the metanium b. With that said the metanium b still palms well. Think bantam but smaller and eaiser to palm. Both will throw light lures well. The aldebaran doesn't come in an XG ratio I'd you're dead set on that high of IPT. After there two factors are left. I typically like to only run an aldebaran on really light rods that are 7'3 or less due to balance. For anything that's typically a heavier rod or a high end Heavy powered rod I shift to the metanium. Line capacity is significantly less on the aldebaran. I run 40lb smackdown on all my reels with the exception of frogging because I like the line diameter. I find you can get close to Un spooling an aldebaran on a long cast with the right rod and lure. This hasn't been much of an issue but is if you have to cut line for a backlash. I'm sure many people will find they can enjoy throwing something in the size range of 30lb smackdown or smaller which would reduce /eliminate most line capacity concerns. The smaller line just doesn't work for me as I've found the thin line back lashs and dig in cause me to cut line. Both of the reels are fantastic but it's something special to use an aldebaran

Gloomis Nrx Jig rod
IMO the 893 is almost overloaded with a 3/8 & trailer. You'd have to go 894. Consider the Megabass X bites & the Daiwa Steez bottom contact rod too.

Megabass P5 Super destroyer for skipping docks
Just watched the video again. Ben's got me hooked on getting the tachyon shaft for pitching docks! Now, do I need that expensive of a rod for skipping docks lol
-
Megabass P5 Super destroyer for skipping docks
F6-69X Super Destroyer 6'9" Heavy Med-Fast 12-25 1/4-1.25 $499.00 F6.5-67X Tachyon Shaft 6'7" Heavy Regular 12-25 1/4-1.25 $499.00 They are rated for the same line. The tachyon shaft is two inches shorter but a half power heavier. I'd love to know first person experience from these rods for this technique. It's scary to spend $500 on a rod that you're unsure of. The tatula elite Andy Montgomery is a lot less cost at $180. Still up in the air.

Megabass P5 Super destroyer for skipping docks
I've been looking at picking up the daiwa tatula elite 6"9 Andy Montgomery skipping rod and have been looking at alternatives. I'm wondering if anyone has used the p3 super destroyer or the new p5's for skipping. I'm assuming they are crazy light and sensitive but wondering if the action and power is right for skipping a jig under a dock.
