  1. How do you like it? This is what I'm considering There's enough power there for 10xds?
  2. What is your favorite deep diving cranking setup. I am wondering in the 20+ range, rod, reel & ratio, line
  3. I don't have any tws but I'm assuming you're running 4 carrier braid. Switching to a 8 or higher carrier with the soft coating such as smackdown may lessen the sound.
  4. I've seen posts where I believe peoe say you can get used or demo nrxs for in the 3-400 range. Is there any specifics to this?
  5. You're trying to cover two rods. I agree, my 893 is maxed at a 3/8oz jig with trailer. But that and anything less in weight is straight awesomeness.
  6. Frogs, I too bought one because the bait monkey said so
  7. Unspooling the line and reeling it back in under tension would help. I haven't been great about keeping the spool tight either.
  8. Maybe the fact that I'm not always using the line conditioner the night before is part of my problem? Sometimes I just use it right before I start fishing
  9. I appreciate it Ajay. For everyone else, is a heavier fluorocarbon more manageable for casting?
  10. I've been a braid to leader guy and still am. I've ventured out to straight fluorocarbon but just can't like it. Based on some reviews of people on here I put 12lb tatsu on two mgl reels. I use kvd line conditioner as well. I not only can't love it but I can't even like it. I tend to have more line management issues (slight nests) with the fluorocarbon, it feels like a rubber band and I just can't get any confidence. Here's an example, I got super confident last year with jerkbaits in the spring, I was fishing a 7'1 Kistler MH H3 with 40ln smackdown to 12lb leader. Each jerk felt like a thump that I could use to get my cadence. I then switched to a one ten special and 12lb tatsu at the same time. Yes, the one ten special has a softer tip but each rip of the jerkbait just feels like a sponge, a rubber band, I can't tell what's going on, on the other end. I also put tatsu on my light jig rod based on reviews. I struggle with line management issues on my bantam. Am I doing something wrong? I really want to like straight fluorocarbon for certain applications as I don't have to retie leaders. Would straight fluorocarbon like 15-20 lb be more manageable for longer and eaiser casting? I feel like that goes against conventional wisdom.
  11. I own a fury, Sierra, champion and extreme. I wouldn't take the the extreme over an expride. Personally my adrena feels nicer than my nrx. All of my Dobyns feels heavy and fairly lifeless when compared to others. It's just my opinion.
  12. I like a craw on a chatterbait. I like the action and it keeps it high. The question is, does anybody use a shad color craw like a rage craw on a white chatterbait? What options exist?
  13. 893 is magic. Out of the baits and cover you suggested it can do thme all great the exception of the 1/2 Oz jig. I'm sure you could fish a 1/2 oz but I don't like the mushy overloaded feeling of it. I don't own an 894 to compare
  14. I can't seem to find any actual real reviews on this. Does anybody have any opinions? Would you use it for fishing deeper grass in addition to rock?
  15. I just realized clinching down Alberto knots with my bare fingers is probably why I have random failures. I can only cinch down until it bleeds....
  16. This may get moved but it's certainly tied to fishing line. Does anyone else get cuts in their fingers from clinching down braid to leader knots? Specifically I am talking the Alberto but if seems like a constant issue. Maybe using sun gloves would help. Does anyone else have this problem?
  17. I don't mean to be negative but I have both the Dx and nrx, they aren't very close in sensitivity
  18. Just my opinion. The 893 balances best with a reel that weighs as much as the bantam mgl. I've tried my metaniums on them and they are tip heavy. The curado DC will balance it well
  19. 40lb smackdown and 40lb power pro maxcuatro. Size of standard 30lbish
