  1. Several of those are "very" private. Especially the ones with homes built around them. Go to the court house and buy a plat map, that should provide the owners. Iowa has more ponds and easier access in my opinion. GO BIG RED!
  2. The Gary Yamamoto Laces are so soft the bass throw them every time. Is this a lace conspiracy against fishermen?
  3. Wow, the most awesome bass fishing I 've ever experienced! GO BIG RED!
  4. Plastics have been pretty good on Wehrspan and Praire View. I don't use spinning reels at all so no help. GO BIG RED!
  5. Hi Guys, going to Okaboji for a couple days to hit the bass. Any of you been up there yet this year? Thanks for any advice as this is the first time on the lake. GO BIG RED!
  6. Remember we've only heard the girl's mother side of the story. The teacher/admin may have something totally different to say.
  7. Rejoicing for her and praying for the family. God Bless
  8. First and middle initials and my beloved Cornhuskers! On other sites or user names I throw in the numeral 5 for the number of national championships.
  9. I can take this one back and have a $299 credit to start over with. I just want what is going to be best. I really don't want to spend a bunch more money so I was wondering if I buy the 400 if that would be all I need. THanks for all the help.
  10. Thanks guys. I'm really concidering taking this one back and purchasing one that will take a chip. I was on Lake Fork last week and the wind was wailing on our way in. I want the short cut chip so I never have to feel the fear of is there a stump again. I'm I accurate that I need to upgrade and is Garmin the way to go? Thanks Rod
  11. I second Fork and the East Texas Lakes. If you can afford 1 day with a guide I would recommend a call to Tom Redington or John Tanner. Tom spent 2.5 days with my son and I and we had a ball, great teacher, attentive to fun. I've heard nothing but great things about John Tanner as well. The guide will also give you places to fish, patterns and all that will help you plan your time on the lake by yourself. I was there last week with my 21 ft fish and ski and wished that I would have trucked to other docks instead of worrying about crossing the lake to get to the boating lanes. The one thing about 6 days with your son bass fishing, it's a win no matter what. Have fun. GO BIG RED
  12. My wife bought a Garmin Dakota 10 for me for our anniversary. Is this the right model for a handheld GPS for the boat? I have Lowrance electronics without GPS. Suggestions appreciated. GO BIG RED!
  13. Great thread. I've been considering but scared. I'm so blind without contacts/glasses that I about made love to the dog instead of my wife the other night. I'm checking into it after the great recommendations. As for sunglasses I wear Costas. I've stepped on them twice so on my third pair for the price of two. GO BIG RED!
  14. x2 It makes me want to throw up to think Suh could end up in Detroit. GO BIG RED!
  15. Very nice fish anywhere in the country but you made us northern state boys proud!
  16. Nice Fish!! When were you at Fork and where did you stay? We were there Monday and Tuesday and Lake Fork Marina. How big"?
  17. I wish the Ike worked for me as well as I think looks and ought to work. Watermelon Red coated in Mega Strike.
  18. Fork was tough on Monday and Tuesday. Heavy winds and very stained. Didn't see or hear of any sign that the bass are spawning. We caught 9 in two days with the largest a touch over 5#s.
  19. We left Lake Fork Marina yesterday morning at 7:00 AM with a smashed trolling motor that cut our last day of fishing, just the luck. A 12+ was caught by a female Crappie guide in Birch on a 1/8th oz jig and 8# test on Monday.
  20. We need to be careful when we make blanket statements ie. I would home school except for the social ramifications and social ramifications from home schooling are "all" favorable. I know wonderfully balanced kids/adults who are/were home schooled and I know kids/adults who don't have some of the social skills most would desire to operate in the world we live.
  21. Bass Pro, Scheels, and Cabelas Bags with zip locks. Original Packaging until they wont seal and then label ziplocks in the ziplocks. Organize by size, type and then color if neccessary. Current Listing: Senkos Zoom Worms Culprit Worms Creatures/Tubes Lizards Gulp Brush Hogs I then keep one of the above bags at my feet with a mixture of my favorites and used stuff that I may want to put back on. GO BIG RED!
  22. I have 3 kids in public high school as we speak. For those who pray add me. From pre-school to 8th grade they were in a private christian school and my wife and I consider it the best investment we made in assisting us in the educating of our children. Omaha has wonderful schools and our area of town is one of the finest public systems in the country. We are pleased with what they're receiving in high school. My son will go to a private university next year. We chose the private school for foundation, first spiritually, second for the education. I too agree I have no use for religiosity. I am very interested in my children's spiritual well being and was willing to pay for that. If I wasn't and had quality education that I have already paid for with my tax dollar, remember with private education you choose to pay twice, that is where my children would go to school. By the way $9,100 for pre-school should include a rocket ride or something, very expensive. GO BIG RED!
  23. I use the Suffix Yellow Braid and in Nebraska water have no problem and don't use a leader up here. Going to Lake Fork Saturday and in the process of transferring to Moss Green Power Pro. Never thought of black out the botton 6, great idea. I also intend to use a floro leader. GO BIG RED!
  24. Leaving for Fork Saturday, can't wait. GO BIG RED!
