I have fished for white bass on the rivers above the dam, and have heard good things but no experience. Good Luck Gorilla! Go Big Red

Back from my Fork trip
Nice trip and post Matt. It still amazes me how Fork has away of making me disappointed with 2 to 5 lbers, where I would be thrilled at any other venue From what I understand you need to be careful to not put a slot fish in the live well as if you are stopped and checked you may have a hard time convincing the authourities you were working on survival. Iowa
I'm a Nebraskan that loves to fish your wonderful state. We fish 3 mile, 12 mile, Green Valley. Looking forward to trying a few more of your western county lakes. I lived in Iowa for 7 years and cut my teeth on some of the best watersheds in the country. GO BIG RED

Wiper fishing
I would have him call Steve Lytle out at Red Willow Res. in McCook. You end up paying Steve to fish but he's a great wiper fisherman and will put you on fish. I have had better guides but not to many better fisherman. Just my opinion. GO BIG RED

Can't take it anymore!!
I think were approaching our 90th day with snow on the ground. My trip to Fork only has wet my appetite to be on the water. Gorilla you may have to let me invite myself to your private shed as the ice will come off of you several weeks earlier than in Omaha. Put the knifes and guns away. GO BIG RED, LET GO SPRING

Anyone have any input on Lake Fork guide Doug Shampine?
I've fished with Tom Redington and by far I would arrange the trip around one of his open dates if possible. The other one I would look at is John Tanner. If you bring a boat with you I would also call Roy Greer "thebassclinic.com", he is a wealth of information and will come on your boat. GO BIG RED

Ideal Beginners Bait Casting Reel
Hi, Last year I bought a cheaper shimano ($60) for my son to learn on, bad idea. Was frustrating but he did learn. At the end of the season I bought an Abu Garcia Revo for him. It was night and day difference. I was very pleased for $99. When he's not with me I use it for my wacky worm reel/rod. I know I will hear it from the Shimano guys, but there's not alot of difference between my curado's that were twice as much money. GO BIG RED

Lake Fork PB!! Thanks Tom
Thanks Burt, Not a great one for fork, but it makes some of our nebraska fish look like guppies. Sure wish it would have taken my 16 year olds rattle trap. Hope all is going well for you and your son. Hope to get back down in the spring. GO BIG RED

Deciding between these two rigs....advice?
I had a 1995 18.5 foot Astro F/S. Loved the boat until I blew up the Black Max 150 Merc. If the motor is good the boat is great. I got 3K hard on trade for mine with a blown motor. The dealer put a 1997 175 hp merc and got 8500. (Kind of chapped my butt) GO BIG RED

Frogg Toggs Rain Ware?
I've had a pair (bibs) for 2 years. I like them for the money but I have definately been wet. If it downpours or steady rain for hours you will get wet through zippers and seams. If your in and out of showers they work as well as anything. GO BIG RED

Under what conditions would you KEEP a bass?
Im sitting here at my desk looking at a picture of a almost 7lber I kept 12 years ago as a proud rookie bass fisherman. I don't feel the pride seeing it on my porch as I do of the many I have released since. I release everything of size and have had no reason to keep any smaller ones recently. I have a couple of lakes that encourage selective harvesting and I would have no problem doing so if we were going to have a fry. GO BIG RED
