  1. I use it on about everything and have never had it "eat" anything. It's a royal pain in the butt with wind and overspill on the boat. That aside Im thoroughly convinced it works. I've orderd Megastrike and have gone to ***. So hopefully the spike it will be put away and this combo will work as well and I would have a white and chartruse Stratos. GO BIG RED
  2. I bought 2 hendrix rods w/ split grip this summer. The Rods are great, sensitive and light. The only advantage that I've found is no matter who looks at the rod they always complement because of the look. They have no idea if its a cheapo or the most expensive rod on the planet, but everytime I get "very nice rod" The other cool part of the Hendrix Split, that is where Mike (the owner/builder) paints my name in gold. I'm an easy mark for the bait monkey Go BIG RED
  3. I started using Chartruse Garlic Spike IT where it matched the plastic color this year. Several outing ago 4 of us all using watermelon red baby brush hogs and I was the only one with spike it. I caught 9 to 3 to 3 to 4 in a 2 1/2 hour period. I was on the front of my boat so had a litltle advantage maybe, but not 3 to 1. That being said I hate scrubbing the chartruse die off my boat. I have mega strike coming, and I now am a *** brush baby user, Brent says I don't need the spike it anymore. GO BIG RED
  4. Muddy, I can't believe I get the first comments on this. The others are either more mature or missed it. I laughed and dang near wet myself. GO BIG RED
  5. I just sent a bulk roll of Vanish 12# back to Pure Fishing (Berkley) for there examination and hopefully a replacement. Same issues, line breakage for no apparant reasons. I use the polamar knot and I know it shouldn't break unless the tag gets screwed up on the tie and I should know that when I test it before I bait it. I will post thier answer to me. GO BIG RED
  6. I've found the P-Line to be very user friendly on the backlash issue, "or should I say I've seen a friend backlash" and was better than the Spiderwire or Berkley "they" used in the past. Also heard good things about suffix. GO BIG RED
  7. Hendrix Rods. www.hendrixrods.com I have 2 and love them. Call Mike and tell him what your look at. GO BIG RED
  8. Sign me up for a day of "small ones" between 2 and 4 lbs. Good luck with the new bait, I'm pulling for you. GO BIG RED
  9. Great thread, I'm so fickle I'm wanting to restring all but one set up. I'm looking forward to this thread playing out and getting more opinions. GO BIG RED
  10. I was using a small piece of line to feed through and putting it in the loop and pulling it through when my buddy asked why I didn't just feed the tag back through? As was said Brain Farts. GO BIG RED
  11. We went to Fork and was told to use Berkley Fireline Braid. The point was you came for a trophy why let a line choice loose it for you? I didn't like the Fireline and went back to mono and floro. The Cabela's people talked me into PowerLine Braid and I love it for my worm/jig rig, frog/grass setup. Mono and Floro on the Crank and Spinnerbait set up. GO BIG RED
  12. Gorilla, How close are you to Burlington? Specifically Coffey County Fishing Lake. Was there last year and tore up the smallies. Havent made it down this year but would like to in the fall. GO BIG RED
  13. LOL A little red might improve some of those Purple neighborhoods!!. At least we could set out some hardware for the Cats to admire. Yes let me know if something would arise. GO BIG RED
  14. One of the things I learned at Fork and has also worked in the upper midwest was to add a split shot about 18" up the line and throw it in the midst of the grass. It amazes me how they find it. GO BIG RED
  15. I was shocked at how stupid I got when I moved to the larger bodies of water. I need to go back and have a little fun every once in awhile. BTW, I would give my left one to have a lake house set up on a private body of water. GO BIG RED
  16. Great Pics Hydro. Where are you in SE Kansas. My addiction started with watersheds just east of Winfield? GO BIG RED
  17. I continue to appreciate Catt and Cart and the a few others that are not only willing to share info but also educate. Thanks, GO BIG RED
  18. I have had much greater success fishing them wacky style than staight. Anyone else? GO BIG RED
  19. add a nail weight in one end if you want depth faster. GO BIG RED
  20. I identify a finesse worm as smaller snacks vs the larger worms that are more meals. Designed for the finicky bite. Trick worms IMO are larger than I would classify. Zoom Utails, finesse and shacky head worms fit the discription to me. GO BIG RED
  21. The guide at Lake Fork that introduced us to the "Brush Hog" not the baby, bit off 1" and pulled off the upper arms. When my lure starts to get torn up I play with it by taking it down a little. When the tails come off I toss it and start over. GO BIG RED
  22. That falcon bag is the same principle to the BPS bags, but $12 cheaper. Thanks. I was hoping that someone had the miracle cure for organzation and it appears we all use similar methods. GO BIG RED
  23. Probably depends on how full my bottle is. But usually just past the tail. I made an order and hopefully will eliminate some of dye on my boat!! GO BIG RED
  24. If you went fishing I hope cleaned your pants out 1st. GO BIG RED
  25. Thanks, I've tried boxes in the past and it seems like taking them out of the "ziplocks" effect the bait. The storage bags are good yet I seem to have all of them open and when I go to move I have to zip up, clean up and not very effecient. Go Big Red
