  1. I really love a Berkley Grass Pig Jr on a spinnerbait. I have a black and red BPS double Colorado with a "California" colored Grass Pig Jr trailer that I could almost frame up on the wall it has caught so many spring and fall bass.
  2. Same here. My wife always recounts her dreams to me and I have literally nothing to share in return.
  3. Could be a lot worse, like a Backstreet Boys/NSYNC reunion!
  4. Ha, walleye are fair game in my book. I think you know what I meant.
  5. Makes me sick when I see the social media brag shots at the ramp with 5 fish in a guy's two hands.
  6. Had a great spring with several very nice river smallmouth. Didn't so well on largemouth, mainly due to my main lake getting a terrible algae bloom and even more pleasure boaters than normal. Didn't fish for largemouth as much as other years..in fact, I didn't fish as much in general this year. I did get 1 Iowa master angler qualifying largemouth in August. Through late June and July, my son and I had several amazing evenings trolling cranks for big crappies. Seeing his satisfaction was the most rewarding. I have 4 Fridays off in October/November and I hope to hit the bucket mouths hard on those days before the snow flies.
  7. My 110 gets a few more bites over the 130, but I'd go with the 130 if I only chose one size.
  8. Lions got ripped, there should have been a delay of game which would have made it a 71 yard try. They probably would have just had a hail mary.
  9. How bout those Eagles looking to spoil the NFC East party! I still think they'll get torched by Dak and his WR's.
  10. I have trailer bearing issues so I haven't had my boat out since mid-August. I haven't had it in me to shore fish. Got bearings and whatnot on the way, so hopefully I'll have the trailer ready to roll again soon.
  11. I also recommend a Sammy. They cast very, very well.
  12. You could go with two regular flukes and then a super fluke in a contrasting color, kind of like what's done on an A rig.
  13. This is how I show em something different.
  14. Love 'em. They've been my favorite popper for years. Especially deadly for me at gravel pits in the bullfrog pattern.
  15. I love Z Man baits for lake/pond fishing, but if I'm on the river, I'm way more likely to snag up and lose my jig than wear a bait out to the point of replacement. If I want to Ned rig at the river, I'm slicing a Stik-O or a Dinger in half. Regarding budget baits, I have had great success with the discontinued Berkley Havoc line. Great value with those, especially the Pit Boss and Grass Pig.
  16. They've been awesome for me as a jig trailer. I haven't used them for any other application, but I'm always tempted to T-Rig one. I tend to rig up larger baits for T Rigs, though.
  17. Rigged the regular way, with the 'boot' pointing down.
  18. I also like to do this, although I tend to try more new places for ice fishing than summer bass fishing.
  19. B Fish'n 2.45" Pulse-R
  20. I think they do lose much of their scent after extensive use. But just because we can't smell it anymore doesn't mean they can't still taste it once inhaling the bait, and maybe giving you the extra second to take a swing.
  21. I am 100% sure that I've lost fish I could have landed over the years, but it sure is more fun to use lighter gear to put the odds a little more in the fish's favor.
  22. I tie my own. I like a 1/8 oz head, 1/0 hook with about 3" to 3 1/2" rabbit strip tail, with some bucktail or arctic fox tail hair around the collar for a body. Sometimes 1/4 oz with 4" tail. Black seems to be my best color. If I use a pure bucktail jig, I sometimes will use a small swimbait trailer.
  23. That's what insurance is. A pool of money for everyone to use when they have a claim. Technically, everybody pays more for home insurance because idiots insist on building houses in extremely high risk areas, just like smokers and cheeseburger addicts cause health insurance to be higher. Loss trends throughout the nation affect everyone, even people in the low-risk areas, because insurance companies have to buy reinsurance for themselves, which dramatically rises when there have been catastrophic loss events like wildfires, hurricanes, derechos, tornadoes, etc. I'm pretty sure my wife would have to take a vaca from me if I tried cold turkey. I am afraid I'd be an ass, myself.
  24. I've left the ramp, leaving my cigs in my truck on accident several times. Most times, I have turned around and gone back for them. I hate myself for that kind of stuff. Believe me, non-smokers, you don't need to give us any s**t for it. We give ourselves a hard enough time. I'm pretty sure no one who's smoked for years still wants to do it and "chooses" to keep smoking.
  25. Ride the Lightning is my favorite Metallica album. I once knew how to play all the rhythm guitar parts from start to finish. Cut my guitar playing teeth on that 80's thrash stuff.
