  1. My god that's a giant! Looks like it could be the same to me.
  2. Secret river in northern WI wading for 5lb smallies and big Muskie. No one else on the river and camp all 4 days.
  3. I had shoulder surgery last December and I have to say it was nice to miss 0 fishing time up north. I would ask your doctor about it and what he/she thinks about fishing with a torn cuff for a season or if they want you to do it now.
  4. Great week of fishing during Thanksgiving break. All fish came on an A rig, which is one of my favorite ways to catch lake fish. Best 5 all week went for 19.5, and best 5 in a day went for 17.5lbs. I had a 5-6lber come off as i was flipping it which would have put us over 20lbs easily.
  5. NICE FISH BABY!
  6. As a fellow Illinois wader they will pull out completely as far out as they can. I am coming back for thanksgiving break and hopefully will get on some toads but we’ll see.
  7. JDM I see… been wanting to get my hands on those for a while now.
  8. North ? But Scott is not wrong those rivers got em.
  9. Dude I got the same thing. Those smack in cold water. I prefer the pro blue red pearl color though.
  10. Now that’s a TOAD!
  11. Lmk we’ll smash em!
  12. DO NOT USE MONO. Mono stretches so there is such a low chance you will get a good hook in those fish
  13. Nice fish! Love northern WI! Did u happen to get a weight on it? It looks massive for a river!
  14. Get a tranx. You won’t regret it. Great reel for swimbaits.
  15. Yeah hard to beat an 843 but it depends what you want to do with it.
  16. I sure hope so! Thanks everyone!
  17. First Club Tournament for Purdue. We fished Racoon Lake in central Indiana. It is a really tough fishery due to a 16" size limit. I do not have a partner so I was assigned a boat driver. We fished from 7:20 to 3:30 the day after a big USA Bassin Tournament. How: Junk fishing- He was getting numbers on a waky rig with a split shot so I played around trying to get some over 16". I played around with a tail spinner, jerkbaits, flukes, drop shots, glide bait, topwater, and underspin. We ended up winning the tournament with 3 fish for 8.2lbs. YES HE ACTUALLY CAUGHT A 4LB BASS ON A 5'9 ULTRALIGHT TWO PIECE ROD! I did not see the win coming at all! There were only 4/11 boats that brought in keepers and we caught three out of the six! Not a bad way to introduce myself to the team! I imagined winning my first tournament but did not really think it would happen due to my lack of knowledge and experience on the lake. *Also fun to note we would have won the USA Bassin event the day before as well!
  18. I have used 1/2 oz in my rivers a few times, however, with the rock I seem to go through them too quickly for the price to be worth it. I’ll stick to other baits for rivers.
  19. Also if your river has crawfish please do yourself a favor and throw a Ned rig. It is the best bait for catching numbers in a river. Also make sure to cover water. If you aren’t getting bit or seeing fish after a few casts it is time to move on.
  20. Yes. Always wade upstream and let the current bring your bait to the fish. It’s the most natural way to present a bait to them. Keep in mind you may need to reel a little more to keep up with the current moving your bait more than you plan.
  21. Sick combo!
  22. I am looking to buy a janky bass boat for a couple grand in the next few years for use in college tournaments and fun trips in the summers. Not looking for anything fancy, it just has to work! I have never owned a boat, only been a coangler. I don't know the exact model yet I am currently looking at facebook groups and I'll see whatever comes up. What do I need to be aware of from boats made over 20 years ago? Any other general tips on buying a used boat? Thanks!
