  1. You must have a ..... coupon. They have $10 off $50 purchase, maybe better ones. They usually have them in those community coupon books that are fundraisers. Ask around..... Senkos, Daiwa Peanuts, Zoom Plastics , Rapala DT cranks ...... wait for a sale .... something is always on sale.....
  2. Been on a Zoom lizard kick lately. Been tearin em up...... Watermelon, black flake, chartruese tail
  3. Zillions are coming out in a 7.3 burner......new wave of stuff from Daiwa and Shimano should be coming out mid to late July. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwazillionhyperpreview.html Man, that thing looks sweet. Thanks for serving our country BassinSoldier. I'm sure you can't wait to get back to the US for some real feeshin'.
  4. Daiwa ....... upgraded Pixy to be exact, due to versatility. Steez is also a pleasure to fish.
  5. Ika = Palm Tree. They might offer them in a few different colors....
  6. I know bigger is better at night for visibility. Anyone ever use like a shakey head or drop shot at night with a 4 inch worm? The bass get pressured due to all the night tourneys. Just wondering if that may be something to try....
  7. So as the name implies....do you just slide it on the bottom generally or do you pick it up off the bottom or whatever works? Thanks
  8. What applications are they good for and what do they do?? Thanks
  9. Add a stick/senko type bait in watermelon or green pumpkin. Rewards cards are like those discount cards you get for the grocery store....keep on buying and one day, you'll get $10 of rewards... Think you could consolidate some of those finesse, shakey worms. Stick with zoom....some kinda frog would be good too.
  10. Hey Matt. What did you mean by "swing"? Like a side hookset? Thanks for the advice. Next time I go to the big lake, that's all I'm throwin'. I did try one yesterday at a farm pond but there is like zero cover and the water was a bit muddy.
  11. 6 inch senko watermelon, 10 inch zoom ribbontail in tequila sunrise(works everywhere), shakey head 4 inch zoom finess worm green pumpkin on a spot remover. Caught most of my fish in the past 2 months on these. Biggest ones on the 6 inch senko.... I gotta get back to the jig myself. Too many baits, so little time....
  12. 4/0, 5/0 EWGs for me.....I like bigger hooks.
  13. More of a baitcaster guy myself so this is good info for me. I do have one spinning outfit which I plan to use more of this summer. Gonna get some braid to try it out...... http://www.insideline.net/weeklynews/08-0529.html I have heard that you don't get line twist with braid and that is my #1 gripe with spinning gear. Thoughts?
  14. It actually sinks pretty fast compared to a senko. I think 12 ft is fine with this bait really but I am not the expert......I only hooked up once and just began to try it out.
  15. I voted senko but like the swimming senko too. I tie those on usually when I lose patience with the senko....
  16. I think it is better to match the finesse rod and reel together. A Medium Light to Medium rod with a finesse reel. Throwing an 1/8 on a finesse reel vs regular, you can probably tell the difference. I have a Daiwa Pixy which I switch between a ML and Med rod depending upon the situation. That reel is friggin awesome. With upgraded drag, it really has a wide range + is a pleasure to fish. Doesn't meet your price range though....
  17. Those look very similiar to the zoom trick worm. Do you think it is the scent or does it feel different or act different er what? What the hey, I'll try one.....
  18. One question that may help us newbies. When you swimbait, do you guys mix it up with your "arsenal" or do you kinda focus on that one bait for long periods of time? I haven't had luck with swimbaits as I tend to jump around to different baits while on the water....usually fish plastics more than anything. Next time, I may just take my swimbaits....and one shakey head. Thanks
  19. To clarify, more like a hookset, reel, pull, reel, pull kind of action while keeping the line tight. Not really a 2nd, 3rd literal hookset. I had a rash of bass getting off this spring so just trying to improve. Do you guys think, generally, that the fat ika catches bigger fish than a senko?? The weight of those Alabama spots is pretty impressive. Don't think I've seen one more than 3 around these parts of NC.
  20. I've used the bait a couple times and plan on trying again this week. I hooked up with a good size bass, pond fishing by a lay down on a green pumpkin/black. I was trying to keep the bass from wrapping up as it was trying to get back into the tree so may have not set the hook well. It got off after about 10 seconds and was a bit bummed about it. I was using a 4/0 EWG Gammy.. Ever since, I've been working on double, triple setting as I work a bass in. I may try a 5/0 next time just for confidence..
  21. For me, I'm a casual-for fun-fisherman and don't do tourneys much. I'm in it for the journey and high end stuff makes the total fishing experience more enjoyable even when you ain't catchin em' . in my opinion. I grew up with crappy equipment and now being almost 40, I can treat myself with some nice gear(as referenced by Alpster). Plus I plan on keeping the good stuff until I die so should get plenty of mileage out of them.maybe I'll get a matching gun metal Steez casket with TiSic Handles Comes in at 6 lbs. not trying to start any casket wars or anything .. RW is da man
  22. 5.3 lb spot. man, you grow em big over there. congrats. what size hook were you using on the ika?? what kind of place did you catch em(point, rocky bottom, etc)?? thanks.
  23. I have one for my spinner reel. Like the blank thru on the foregrip which is the perfect balance point on mine.... and can't beat the warranty. I think it is a great rod for the price.
  24. I don't know if you live close to a Bass Pro but mine has the 700 series on sale for 49.99, reg 109.99. Add $10 rebate, final price $39.99 .....DEAL. I got mine for SW.
  25. Yep, throw a bait of choice on a rod and hold on. Right after the spawn sort of sucks as they recover but they should be gettin hungry right about now. I'm sure I'll be throwing the arsenal at em soon....maybe I'll just put my tackle box on a hook....
