Avid Was Roland Martin the one who endorsed the helcopter lure? Don't forget about ...... The Rocket Launcher. I had a Spro frog, an older model. Didn't catch crap with it.

I read somewhere that there is actually a shortage of quality cork right now. Might have something to do with it, maybe. I guess you can always make foam .....

G. Loomis question
There is a pretty sick deal on ebay for new GLX 803s right now....like $250 shipped. But that is more of a worm and jig rod vs all round. Still, a nice deal......

Castaway Rods
For real man. I try to respect other peoples opinions+views because that is what boards are all about. As long as people aren't hating on one another. Get enough of that in the real world. I like TackleTour too..you take what information you want from any internet site it's the individual's choice on what he wants to believe or what sites to visit. I just like to read and post about fishing stuff..don't matter if it is here or there as long as people respect each other... Let's all wish for whirled peas. I'd like to get a Puls-R one of these days so I for one hope the Airrus rods don't go down the tubes as stated earlier

best reel match for rod
Shimano or Daiwa or just about any reel for $250 is a good choice. Mg, Zillion, Revo Stx, even Ardent are all well liked by folks on the boards. You may even be able to find a TD Z on ebay for $250....love my Z.

i Like Shimano
Love Shimano, Love Daiwa. They are like your kids.....can't really say you like the one more than the other...but deep down....like the Daiwa a tad more.

New US Rods ??
You are right man. Probably can't go wrong with any of them. So, I have a bid on ebay on a particular GLX model that I've been wanting for a long time. If I don't get that....I'll pull the trigger on the 7 2" Puls-R..... Thanks
-
New US Rods ??
I made a left turn on my next rod application wise. I "logicalized" it to a new crankbait rod to go with my TDZ 103P. New Mg goes on the Loomis... Still wanna go US rod.... Now looking at Puls-R 7'2" Med Med, Powell/Dobyns 704CB or Loomis CB(not new but in the running) No Airrus or Powell/Dobyns around Charlotte, NC so won't be able to feel them before I buy em. You guys have any advice on which rod from the finalists?? Thnx

Need some rod selection help!
I have a Shimano Compre and it is a very good rod for right at $90. Lots of guys like the St. Croix premiere too and you can get that one for $100. I think they both have the actions you are looking for...... You may want to get a medium or medium light with a fast tip for the grubs and maybe a crankbait rod for the traps and the spinnerbaits. Good luck.

New US Rods ??
Thanks magic and thanks badhabit for your composite analysis....excellent. Very helpful.

New US Rods ??
Hey badhabit. Couple of questions, if you don't mind. How does the weight of the Ultra XL balance with your reel?? What reel you have on it?? I'm leaning towards a Puls-R. I think that rod is around 5 ounces and my reel will be 6 ounces. Overall, still a lightweight combo but the weight is something I am considering. Unfortunatelyno retailers have it around Charlotte NC so may be purchasing without the chance to feel it in my hands. So, you think the Airrus rod composite is better(or not) than graphite in terms of sensitivity, feel, etc?
-
New US Rods ??
Shirley, someone has one of these new rods. Time to try out some new stuff fellas. I've read some nice things about the Airrus Puls-R, Powell 683c and the newly released Dobyns 683c. Monkey gets agitated just thinking about it. Was hoping someone on this board had some first hand knowledge. And don't call you Shirley. I'll stop posting to myself now.better than talking to myselfor thinking to myself..sometimes it echoes when I think to myselflike right now..

New US Rods ??
Can anyone shed any light or real experience with any of the new US rods out there? Airrus, Dobyns, Powell are the ones I am interested in getting more information foradd Kistler LTX II cuz I am sure someone has that one. Sensitivity, Action, Weight and Most importantly, FUN factor. Getting an updated Shimano Mg reel so looking to match it up with a worthy fishing partner. Thnx

Loomis expeditor service.
One last question before this one goes to the thread graveyard. Do you need a receipt to use the expeditor service?? I have a receipt on my 843 but wondering about if I pick one up on the buy/sell boards......like an 842, then an 844.... I'll have Daiwas and Shimanos on them. In my fishing world, there is harmony and peace....and a whole bunch of mixed up tackle.
-
In your opinion what is the best rod/reel/combo?
The answer to your question just boggles the mind with all the good equipment out there..my brain processor is burning up right now.

Too many Rod choices?
I think having lots of rods and reels is ok. Having them ready to go on your boat deck is nice.just pick a lure with the proper rod + reel and throw it depending upon real time conditions. I think that is why most folks have a gazillion set ups.(or at least their reasoning) Oryou can spend the minute to re-tie a lure you want to throw, which would cut down on the number of set ups, immensely. I'm in the market for a rod right now and in general..there are a lot of very good options out there. Can drive a man crazy thinking about it. d**n that monkey!!

Loomis 842 - Anything Similiar Out There?
I think the 842 only comes in GLX so looking at some dinero for that one. One day.... Shimano Crucial drop shot seems a bit lighter but heard that was a fun rod too. Not sure if it compares.
