Quantum Tour Edition Spinning Reel
I can say that the Quantum PT reels are awsome. I have owned 2 energys and a catalyst and liked them all. I know alot of people bash Quantum and I will admit from top to bottom they are not the best company. There low end reels are junk. But the PTs are awsome reels. I just wish I could get my hands on one of the new tour edition spinning reels before I buy one. The closest BPS is about 2 hours away. Long drive to just pick something up and feel how it is. But they look awsome and are lighter then all the other Quanutm PT reels. Plus they look bad *** as well. Match that on a 6'3" ML X-Fast St. Croix Avid series spinning rod and that should be an awsome all around spinning combo for the collection.

Need lure suggestions for river Smallies
I would try maybe throwing some bigger baits, try something like a smithwick devil horse at sunrise or sunset. and maybe try a few swimbaits or some bigger crankbaits and if all else fells and you don't mind fishing live bait. a good size salamander always did the trick back home on the new river in wv. good luck and hope you lay into a good one.

Ultralight Reel?
Thanks for all the ideas but I should have mention that I use mostly size 10 spinning reels to bass fish, both my energy's are size 10s and my catalyst a 20. a size 30 to me just feels to big and heavy. I would consider maybe going with a size 10 catalyst and use it but I would perfer the true ultralight spinning reel. I fish alot of trout here in the mountains when there is nothing else to do and I enjoy the fight any fish gives. I loose some bass cause I don't use 15 lb test on a 7' flipping stick. But every fish that has have broke off has always been my fault in some way or another. I love catching big bass but catching a 8lb bass on 6lb test makes it that much better to me. If anyone has had any experience with the bps micro lite ( the one that has 8 bearing ) or any other trure ultralight spinning reel that has done them well, let me know. thanks again for trying to help everyone.

Ultralight Reel?
CK14, Out of all the reels I mentioned the trion did last the longest. I could probally clean it up and still use it but I wasn't all the way satisfied with it. The quantom i ended up buying from a fake quantum dealer, I guy opend up a tackle shop around here and was very shady. He fed me some real bs when i tried to order a quantum energy spinning reel from him. His best out of the four or five lies he told me was. You can only buy that reel from bps and its only sold on a combo, so he was waiting to have bps cut the reel off the combo just for him. I got lucky and got my money back when it was all said and done. but the ultralight reel was a peice of junk. I know he serviced reels and I wouldn't doubt it if he messed with it, it was missing a washer when my buddy took apart for me. but anyway i would hate to buy another one just like it and end up not being able to stand fishing with it after a year of use. And has anyone tried the BPS MicroLite Surpreme Spinning Reel. I only was able to read the two reviews they has on basspro.com about it.

Ultralight Reel?
I've been looking for really 2 years now for the perfect ultralight spinning or underspin reel. I've went threw 3 reels last year. The higher end quantum ultralight spinning reel, the pflueger trion and a daiwa regal underspin. None them are worth anything after less then a year of fishing. My buddies son has the pflueger president ultralight spinning reel, it felt nice on the few casts i made with it. But I was wondering if anyone knew of any other high end reels I could use or try. I will be matching it up on a 5' st. croix triumph UL.

BPS Pro Qualifier Rods?
I like the avids better then I do the premiers but the premiers are awsome rods. I like all the rods st.croix makes, even the triumph series makes an awsome ultralight setup for the money.

white bass lures
1/16 oz Road Runners are probally the best bait for them, I catch all kinds of fish on road runners and most of the white bass i've got in my life have came on them. Also try small crankbaits like little bombers B03F and RC 0.5 cranks.

Falcon LowRider?
I'm thinking about buying a new spinning rod for my Quantum Catalyst 20, I'm pretty much a st.croix guy minus a few catfish rods. But I found a place that is selling the falcon lowrider spinning rods for $79.99. I'm looking to buy a 6'6" M action rod. But I wanted to know if anyone has used them and are they a litte stiff like st. croix rods are.

Which creature bait works the best for you?

Spinning Reels
I like my Quantum Energy's and my Quantum Catalyst. I know most people on here are shimano guys which is fine, shimano does make awsome reels but I've always for some reason wanted to fish Quantum Reels, must have been all the Bill Dance and In-Fisherman shows I watched when I was little. They both fished nothing but quantum reels.

Odd colors for Lucky Craft Pointers?
I have a Sammy 85 in the brown trout color and I just picked up a sammy 65 in ghost rainbow trout today. I wish I could find a pic of what the walleye pattern looked like, I saw could order one from bass pro shops, but they don't show what it looks like.

Pro Qualifier Reel Deal
I'm pretty sure I picked up the same baitcast setup at the atlanta spring classic. I love the combo and for $70 bucks marked down from 170 its hard to beat. I got the MH 6'6 rod and on a scale of 1 to 10. I will give it a 9 at least. for the price you can't beat it. I might pick up another one before the sale ends. I just wish they had a ML casting rod.

Lucky Craft G-Splash
I'm thinking of putting a order in for a few lucky craft g-splash's. I never hear anyone talking about them on this board or any other one, i think they look like a great topwater bait. Just wondering if anyone fishes them and does well with them.

Anyone Ever Use This?
Cephkiller, I know I got lucky I found it, i told my buddy about what else they had and like 2 days later everything was gone, and thats odds here in the mountains of western north carolina. if its not a zebco 33 and rooster tail, not very many people know what your talking about. But I did get lucky and find a great deal, i've tried it for a few min. and i like they way the rod feels so far.

Anyone Ever Use This?
Justfishin, That was the only rod like that they had, it had been mared down probally 4 or 5 times, they also had some catfish rods marked way down and a few quantum rods for like 10 bucks. I lucked out on the one i found. I hope you find some killer deals at your local wal-mart.

Need a spinning rod for 1/8 oz lures ????
I agree with roadwarrior, St. Croix Avid AS60MLF, I like the 6 foot rod, cause i also do alot of wading and float trips for smallies.

Anyone Ever Use This?
I just bought a fenwick venture 6' M action casting rod at wal-mart for 5 bucks, it was makred down from $49.96. I've never used fenwick rods, all i have is st. croix and a few ugly sticks for my catfish setups. but i coudln't pass up a decent feeling rod for 5 bucks. I have an extra shimano cardiff 100 that I keep as back up reel in my bag. I plan on putting that on it and messing around with it. Has anyone else used theese rods before?

Spinning rod help
I never hear anyone ever mention anything about the quantum catalyst, i own two energy's and love them but the catalyst is only $110 and i really couldn't tell you the differnce if I couldn't see them. and for rods i have nothing but st. croix rods on my go to spinning setups. i like the avids the most. but the premeires are nice for $100 bucks.

BPS Extreme Ex
I just picked up the Bass Pro Shops Extreme Ex Combo at the Spring Classic, they said it was marked down from $169.99 to $69.99. Now I like the combo and what i'm going to use it for its perfect but I tried to do some details about it and i can't find anything about the bps extreme ex reel or rod on the net or in the catalog. If anyone could tell me why this is and if the combo was really $169.99 I would really apperiate it.
