  1. It's right here on the KastKing website. https://speeddemonelite.kastking.com/optin32512270?utm_source=crowdfunding&utm_medium=speeddemonelite-baitcaster&utm_campaign=crowdfunding&utm_content=sandy20191010
  2. Broke 8 lbs on a LMB. That was a milestone for me. Next goal - double digit bass. I got a feeling.......
  3. Definitely Keitechs. They are so soft they move with the slightest movement. Bass Pro Shops Speed Shad are very good as well at a lesser costs. I just tried some of the new Churro swim baits from 13 fishing and was please with their fish catching action. Caught quite a few on them. But, my confidence swim baits are the first two I listed.
  4. I use the lightest heads possible to reach the depth I want to so I can SLOW DOWN on the presentation. That has been my biggest challenge fishing boot tails, fishing too fast. Also, certain swimbaits work better with certain hook types, whether it be jig heads, belly weighted weedless, or under spins. You'll have to experiment a bit. But, that's part of the fun. And don't be afraid to go big or really small. A 2.8 keitech is deadly on a 1/0 Dirty Jigs Matt Stefan Guppy Head. On the other end of the spectrum the 5-7 inch versions will catch 2 pounders as well as big ones.
  5. War Eagle runs straight and fishes well until I catch several fish and then the wire gets loose in the cone shaped head. That doesn't stop me from fishing them, it's just a let down. One of my favorites in this brand is the Mike McClelland finesse. My all time favorite is the Stanley Wedge Plus series. Best, longest lasting non-titanium wired spinnerbait I've ever used. Tough as nails and gives off great vibrations. Favorite color is Blue Shad...
  6. In times past Megabass was excluded on the advertisement but was included at checkout. Seems they can't advertise a discount on certain brands but will give the discount at the point of sale. This works on several brands at TW.
  7. If there is a severe drop in temp bass will often stop hitting surface lures. Once they adjust to the new average temp they will go back to actively feeding and start hitting your topwater lures again. So, don't think it's over just because a cool snap has blown thru. Give it a day or two to level out and you can probably catch some on your favorite topwater presentation again. At least until the water temp cools to the point that they quit hitting topwater altogether. Being from the south I can't give you any predictions on that, LOL!
  8. Troll Tamer!! I've never given that trolling motor lock any thought. The way you use it has intrigued me! My Ultrex isn't the easiest to get out of the locked position. The way you use it is brilliant. I imagine deployment is much easier and faster! Thanks for sharing.
  9. Well, I throw mine on braided line. I don't think that makes a difference. The knot certainly doesn't make a difference. It seems to me that if both baits are exhibiting the same problem then it could be corrosion on the shaft of the WP and in the swivel of the Toadrunner. Could you have gotten moisture in your tackle box? Try spraying the swivel and WP shaft with a lubricant. Even line conditioner may help. WD 40 even. That beats ruining your line and fishing experience.
  10. I love these things! They work really well with crank baits, jerk baits, lipless cranks, and most topwater baits..... I have never had one bend out or break. And I caught my PB this year (8lb 3oz) on a jerkbait while using these..
  11. I've caught fish in muddy water that were bleached out. After an hour in my live well their color had turned so vivid that it appeared I had caught them in crystal clear water. Bass are somewhat like chameleons in that they can change colors rather rapidly to blend with their surroundings.
  12. What size WP are you fishing? My 75's will spin if I speed my retrieve up too fast. The 90 spins horribly for me. The larger ones work just fine. On a side note, the Berkley Choppo 90 works like a charm and sounds just like my WP 75's. The hooks aren't as heavy but I caught a 15 lb grass carp with no bend out... I've not tried the larger ones.
  13. Palomar for ALL lines....period.....end of story...... I never have a Palomar slip on a spinnerbait. But, again, it's got to be tied correctly.
  14. InvisX 20% off at Tackle Warehouse. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Seaguar_InvizX_Fluorocarbon_Line/descpage-SIF.html
  15. Bass and catfish in SALT WATER? That's a new one on me!
  16. Seaquar InvizX 20% off at Tackle Warehouse. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Seaguar_InvizX_Fluorocarbon_Line/descpage-SIF.html
  17. 14lb Red Cajun Line.... Handled two (albeit small) bass in one retrieve.
  18. Another thread resurrected! It is timely, though, as the shad are headed shallow and the bass will herd them against the banks for a buffet! Due to their ability to come through cover and the fact the look like a small school of shad fleeing spinnerbaits rule this time of the year. I have caught hundreds of bass on a spinnerbait and have never had an issue with fish hitting the blade only. Especially if you have some sort of trailer that the bas focusses on after the blade draws his attention. The only issue I've ever had was making the blades match the hatch, so to speak. Often times bass will short strike or follow and turn off a bait if the blades aren't the right configuration or size. Which is why I only have a handful of colors but a lot of sizes in those colors. Speed of retrieve is even more important. And the bass will educate you on how fast or slow they want it.
  19. Bought a couple and was not impressed. They do work......sorta. They will move water when you jerk them, but it's not a good pop or burble. It's not much different than trying to pop a crank bait on the surface. Then, when you reel it straight in to "prank" the fish it's a very lazy wobble at best. Poppers are my favorite way to catch fish. That said, I gave my Pranks away. They're not a good popper nor a good crank bait.
  20. I have done really well with the Bagley Rattlin' Honey B Squarebill. It's 1-1/2" long and 1/4 oz. But it fishes just like it's big brothers.
  21. That solely depends on your iCloud storage.....
  22. The first question is why do you want THIS brand? There are several brands that have quality reels <$300. So, what draws you to Daiwa? I own some and can tell you why it draws me....the SV spool on the Tatula's. There are several threads on the forum talking about that spool. The T-Wing, I can take or leave. No big deal there. That said, if Shimano had an SV spool I'd own some of those as well. And I DO own a Curado K. Nice reel... And the DC has some good advantages on long casts as well. But I love the SV spool on the Tatula. That's why I use Daiwa. I've heard the Zillions with the SV spool are even better. I don't know that since they're above my pay grade. I use a Tatula 8.1 for frogging and jigs because you can skip either one like a boss. I use Tatula's in 6.3 and 7.3 for other applicants. My Tatula's are the SV TWS reels. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DAIWARELLS.html?from=basres So, again... Why are you wanting Daiwa?

In most cases the fish is wanting something different. They'll blow up on the Jitterbug, but the action, color, size, or something just isn't sitting right with them. That's when you have to swap to another type of topwater like a buzz bait, popper, walking bait, and the like. If they STILL just blow up on it then they're feeding actively and you need to present something just under the surface, like a fluke, Senko style bait, spinner bait, crank bait. The fish are talking to you. You just gotta listen and try other things until you dial them in.
  24. If I tried that I'd walk backwards right off the deck of my boat! Of course, I guess then I could just swim to my snagged bait and get it loose....
  25. I knew this was coming, LOL!! Those that have mastered the Palomar knot usually prefer it over any other knot for strength, ease of tying, and lack of slipping. I use it on ALL lines regardless of diameter or type. And it doesn't fail. However, the knot the OP showed might work better for drop shotting. I'll probably never know as I stick with what works for me......the Palomar....
