  1. Your HXF got your frogging "needs" covered. I'd go with a 6'9-7'0 ML-F or ML-XF to dropshot/nedrigs and a MH-Mod or M-Mod for cranking duties. I don't dropshot much but I use the nedrig a lot. That being said, I mostly fish for smallies as there are no largies close to home.
  2. *** Spelled it [One-3] without the brackets and hyphen
  3. I so much use a tube I forbade myself to use one this season unless its a tournament ! I wanna get efficient with other baits/presentations.
  4. Love those heads, what are they ? Edit : was already asked but still mines are called mushroomz by zman but are more cylindrical than yours.
  5. The extra fishing Time is true when doing tournaments. I'd say an ML spinning Rod for nedrig and dropshot. If you want something nice, cheap and good for cranking, I can't suggest enough the Fenwick Lunkerstik. On another note I thought peace treaty was signed with *** ?
  6. Thin Fin are still avail in my neck of the woods
  7. Would I have to buy a single Rod, I'd probably opt for for either a Mojo Bass Casting 6'8" MF or Mojo Bass spinning 7'1" MF as both fish halfway between a medium and a medium-heavy...
  8. FYI Probond is exterior grade vs standard Elmer's
  9. They start offering the X5 at one of our local small tackle shop and I like it so far. Spooled a few baitcasters with it. It is also cheaper than other brands. I'm actually trying to find a chinese bulk replacement with large spools so it gets even cheaper
  10. Did you sand it afterward ? I'd guess yes, but which grits ?
  11. Frogs with at least 1/2oz wt cast great on the SLX. Btw I still own it but bass is closed here so cant use it till mid June... I was walking the frog on the snow in the yard lol
  12. I own the SLXC72H for a few weeks and tried casting with it a little bit in my yard. I frogged with a Quantum Team KVD 6'10" before and I think thats the lenght you should be after (6'8"-7'1") if you really Wanna see the difference
  13. For my better understanding, the two others being?
  14. Just bought a Shimano SLX 7'2" heavy/fast and they also make it in 7'5" H/F if you prefer longer rods
  15. I call my combos my precioooouuuss !
  16. I always thought it would be the opposite with action ?
  17. All of this? I swapped some of mines and like them but one of the recent el-cheapo chinese reel I ordered had one lighter than the aftermarket one for the exact same lenght so I kept it.
  18. I'm looking at the water temp there daily. I am pretty sure LMB will not bed but it might be just enough to trigger smallies to do so.
  19. Awesome article ! I am fishing your area next week-end and they might be bedding depending on water temps. As a Canadian, I pretty much know nothing about spawn/pre-spawn fishing as it is closed here till mid June...
  20. I am tempted at either FishingSir, KK or Piscifun braid as well... Will likely their smaller spools of 20 and 30lbs to test it.
  21. That's pretty much my experience so far I own a few Kastking (baitcasting and spinning reels) a few Piscifun (baitcasting and spinning) and a Johncoo JC-200 (Assassin's clone) and a FishingSir Aegir. I feel they all fish above their price. The Aegir I paid 36 CAD and it really impresses me for the price paid ! I also had to use KK customer service. Been a little slow to get an answer to my taste (a few days) but it ended with a return of Spartacus Plus that had a paint problem that made the spool grind on the overpainted area.
