  1. Thanks to everyone for the feedback. Has anyone tried the Berkeley Max Scent Flat Worm?
  2. I have a Dobyns FR 705CB paired with a a KK Assassin. I like it very much. I use it for anything with treble hooks.
  3. Very interesting article on rod failures. May answer why your rod broke https://northforkcomposites.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Rod_Break_Article.pdf
  4. I am looking for some recommendations for drop shot baits. I have narrowed it down to Strike King Dream Shot and Roboworm Str Tail.(open to other suggestions) I know there are many other companies that make these. My fishing is done from the bank in both clear and slightly stained waters. I was looking for the size and colors that are preferred. Putting together my holiday wish list.
  5. Welcome
  6. KK has a decent line of rods and reels that will fit into your budget. They also have some combos at a decent price. Also look at the Dobyns Colt and Fury Series.
  7. Thanks for sharing your video. The names don't matter all that matters is they catch fish.
  8. I use braid for frogging and braid with FC leader for my NED rig. Everything thing else is copolymer. Going to try FC next spring.
  9. I have a few KK rods and I am very happy with them for the price point.
  10. Look at the Kast King Crixus line, rods are under 50 bucks.
  11. Remove the line and start fresh. Some birds nest are easier to clear then others. Decide what lures you will using and spool up accordingly. I use braid and co-polymer lines.
  12. It keeps the electrolyte from freezing if not properly charged. https://www.optimabatteries.com/en-us/experience/2012/09/how-does-your-marina-maintain-your-batteries
  13. I was always told to remove, store in a cool dry place, so that they don't freeze. Also to put them on a piece of wood.
  14. It is not a rumor https://dailymemphian.com/article/8029/Strike-King-Lure-Co-in-Collierville-files-notice-of-layoffs
  15. May just have to try the 3/0 since where I fish most of the fish are small.
  16. I went out just before sundown (it got dark pretty quick) with my spinning combo, 10#test, 4/0 EWG and X Zone whiplash shad(T Rigged). Didn't catch anything, but the combo worked well, was able to cast a nice distance, nice action with the bait and no line twist.
  17. You got that right
  18. I have the tackle to nose hook, that is another option.
  19. 1. Bait caster or Spinning 2. Mono,FC,Copolymer or Braid 3. Swivel or No swivel 4. Treble Trailer Hook, size The reason I am asking after reading articles and talking with fishermen. I am now totally confused. My setup now is a spinning set up, with coploymer and swivel with a about a 10" leader. No trailer hook. Don't know if this is a correct setup.
  20. I your local store doesn't carry them. Amazon has them.
  21. Maybe you want to try a stinger hook https://www.gameandfishmag.com/editorial/frog-hack-add-a-stinger-hook/334798
  22. I have been robbed a few times. Boy does it tick me off. My house was broken into while my family was sleeping, car broken into a few times. It just sucks.
  23. Just because it is inexpensive or used doesn't mean it is bad. As long as it serves the intended purpose and works for you, that is all that counts. Fish don't know if it is a $30 rod and reel combo or a $300 one.
