Fuego Ct, Tatula CT type R, or Tatula R
Thanks, Is that considered an upgrade or an option? The only Fuego's I own are OG's been away from fishing for a while, trying to get caught back up.

Please help me identified lure brand. Thank you
Those hooks are I believe intended to protect the hooks from salt water. Yozuri uses a similar hook on its pin minnows. Probably others just the one I can think of.

Bought first baitcaster (FuegoCT) - setup, line, out of the box tips?
Interesting, you find this to be different than most other reels? Can you name me a couple, been away from this for a while. You talking older reels or newer?

What is the reason for setting the magnetic control to 0 prior to setting the side to side play of the spool? Also can you explain why changing line type would require readjustment of the spool tension. I just want to be sure I understand, in your instructions we are setting spool tension by the amount of spool side to side play and not adjusting the spool tension based on ROF.

I think I still have a couple of the Type-R around here somewhere, thought maybe they had really changed things up.

Tackle upgrading
Certainly tough without handling. You do a little research and you will find no shortage of praise for Gary Dobyn's and his rods. He has always been one of the nice guys in fishing, you can call his shop and most likely either He or his Son will talk with you. They have always been very gracious to Military Members and Veterans and offer a discount if you contact them with your information. A lot of great rods and companies to work with out there, but I would put these guys on my short list for sure.

Is exposing rods to the cold bad for them?
I run over a few of mine when it was cold outside and they broke.

Tackle upgrading
Believe it or not the first ones that I purchased came from Academy Sports. Can't remember the year for sure, but close to 2007. Champions, 703C and a 734C. Dobyn's Rods were crazy popular 8 -10 years ago.

Which 5-7 lures should I spend this upcoming season 'dialing in'??
Jigs, Plastic baits on the end of a T-rig or F-rig, learn to perfect the walk of a top water bait, master the differences between a swim jig, a chatter bait and a spinner bait. Mix in a little finesse like the different cadences of an effective ned rig, or read up on AMart and the drop shot. Get bored and want to try something new that is old, make yourself a few Jika rigs and give that a go. Lot's of fun. That will keep you going for a while.

Tackle upgrading
Dobyn's Rods been around for about 15 years or so now. Gary Dobyn's worked with Powell on their line of bass rods prior to that. Been a household name for quite a while now.

What are your fishing goals for 2019?
No goals, I try not to mix business with pleasure.
-
Do you consider "live" bait cheating?
I have consulted the official fishing for fun rule book. It says, the most important thing is that you have fun, there are no rules when fishing for fun.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
I noticed that also, not sure why, maybe better adjustments by the other team. I was really nice to see Berry on the field, he is an inspiration to his team mates. I don't want to be to critical because it was his first game back, but I think the number of tackles he made might have a little something to do with him struggling a little with his coverage. In other words he had to make the tackle as a result of allowing the reception. Maybe we will make a little noise it the playoffs this year, that would sure be fun.

Wiggle wart Questions
If you are really interested in the wiggle wart, I would suggest you talk to the men that fish on the clear lakes of Arkansas. Beaver, Bull Shoals, Table Rock, and Taneycomo. The men there are masters of the wiggle wart, they will flat out give you a lesson, make you spectator and net holder.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
You nailed it. Just need to keep the team together, work through the free agent market and make wise draft picks. Think with our fantastic QB it will be much easier to entice top talent. The future looks good, amazing season.

That KC defense has to improve, been saying it all year but they were really bad tonight.

Top water and frog rod all in one?
Use them for what you want, make some adjustments with line choice. It ain't always about having the perfect rod for the technique. Sometimes you just use what have, the fish don't usually mind.

8:1 vs. 7:3:1 Gear Ratio - What applications ?
Got it, makes perfect sense now. Would take some time and effort but a person could certainly develop a chart that would show the change in IPT from full spool, to 20-30-40..... yards of line off for specific models and spools. Not sure how much practicality it would have, but would be interesting none the less. It's all good Brother, we make this all of this fishing stuff sound real technical sometimes when it really should be about having a lot of fun.

8:1 vs. 7:3:1 Gear Ratio - What applications ?
Thanks for the help. I am sure that it will not change with the difference in the amount on line on the spool. RPT seems in this case to just be another name for gear ratio, 7.1:1 or use what your comfortable with. 7.1 rotations of the spool to 1 complete rotation of the handle. Help me out if I am missing something.

8:1 vs. 7:3:1 Gear Ratio - What applications ?
Tom, I am trying to pick up what your putting down, but I am not sure what RPT is an acronym for and it would seem to me that regardless if the spool was full or empty the gear ratio would remain the same. Help a Brother out, give us a little more information to work with.
