Left vs Right Handed Reels
Thank you for that great explanation! I know exactly what you mean. Unfortunately, at this stage, I just don't get out enough to perfect my cast enough to where I don't worry about backlash. With the dc reels, I haven't had to worry about it and provides a much more enjoyable experience and am able to do more fishing. Hopefully down the road, I'll be able to have more days of fishing where I can have time to appreciate a beautiful piece with such tight tolerances... It kills me to pass up on a good deal... Thanks again!

Left vs Right Handed Reels
Please forgive my ignorance, but what's the advantages of a reel like this over a dc reel (eg slx dc or curado dc)? I am always up for buying higher quality, but have just been really impressed with the dc technology. I have never used a high end reel...so looking to learn. thanks

Recommendations for battery setup...running two helix 7, power poles...
Ok so planning to go with adding one deep cycle AGM 31 for the electronics and keeping my current 24 as a crank battery. That sound like a good idea? I talked with the local service guy and he recommended a "jump switch" which sounded similar to the blue seas acr...is that correct? Anyway, can anyone recommend a good agm battery? Also will install a dual charger...any recommendations on that as well? I hate to have two separate chargers, but I guess I can just use two separate electrical cords. Thanks again everyone!

So are you saying two batteries in back for crank and electronics? If so, both deep or one deep and one crank? Thanks

Recommendations for battery setup...running two helix 7, power poles...
I already have a dual charger up front for my tm batteries. Should I get a separate dual charger for crank batteries? Should I go two crank batteries or deep cycle?

Recommendations for battery setup...running two helix 7, power poles...
Hey everyone, I had a thread going about how to protect against a dead battery. I have had issues with my crank battery and I have decided I need to revamp my setup. I have some power poles coming, so I thought now is a good time to do it. I have a robalo 21' with a yamaha f150 motor. I am running two humminbird chirp/mega 7 inch units on the crank battery, as well as the power poles. I have had some issues lately with one of the helix units, and I think it might be due to the low voltage on the crank battery. So can you recommend what you would do for a crank setup if this was your boat? Should one battery be able to handle all of this (8 hours on water with power pole use and helix units use). I just want to not have to worry about any of my batteries. Right now I have a group 24 marine master 12v battery for crank. Should I get a second crank battery for just the peripheral units? Should I get a dual charger for the crank batteries? Thanks again for all the help!

Love or regret power poles/talons?
Ok thanks. Man it's a tough decision, but I've had way too many recommend going with pp just for the sake of customer service and repair. I spoke with a dealer today who sells both; he said he has a friend who is a minn kota service center and there are always a ton sitting around needing repair. But, I know there are several out there who swear by the talons. But in general, seems like percentagewise...people with pp's seem to be more satisfied and have less trouble. Now to just try to find a good deal on a couple.

help: Humminbird mega imaging not showing up on finder
You might be right. I've been having issues with my crank battery (which is what this is connected to). I'll try to figure out a way to test it...or just get a new battery ha

Oh really? That included two 8’ pp’s and the motor mount plates and install. Is that not a decent price?

When do you Texas rig aa worm/senko?
Thank you! Great response

Love or regret power poles/talons?
Do you feel like talons have less things that could go wrong? I think they are about the same price right?

When do you Texas rig aa worm/senko?
Thanks everyone. I always like to post these questions, just to hear everyone else’s options. Obviously I have my methods, but never hurts to hear other’s perspectives. I have found that I haven’t been fishing a trig as much, so thought I would get everyone’s thoughts. I have a tendency to throw shakyhead, jig, and wacky senko more. but great to hear other views. I know there are some diehard worm fans out there

This is what I am wanting to hear...time and place for when you decide to use a worm over a squarebill/spinnerbait/crankbait. Which conditions. Love the responses so far!

When do you Texas rig aa worm/senko?
Seriously? You two really use it that much? Strictly straight trig worm? Senko?
-
When do you Texas rig aa worm/senko?
Thanks! Do you use it mainly if you aren’t getting bit on moving baits (cover-squarebill, spinnerbait...) or do you lead with it?

Love or regret power poles/talons?
Well that’s one for Talons. I have read a few people having issues with talons...that’s why i was leaning more towards powerpole...sounds like pp customer service is really good. Just trying to get any more thoughts

Looking at possibly getting a set of pp. quoted around $5k for everything. Just trying to talk myself into it. What has been your experience? Any tips? Thanks

What conditions/situations do you look for to decide to throw a t-rig?

How do you protect against a dead battery?
So I had brought my battery home and charged it on my charger. I used a multimeter to check and it read 12.1 after it said full charge. So took the boat out and went on a trolling motor only lake. fished for about an hour with just running my radio and humminbird h7 (on deck) both are on crank battery. went to start motor and wouldn't turn over. Used battery jumper and that did the trick after waiting for a few seconds. Later I started the motor up and let it run for quite awhile. Anyway, what do you all think? Should I just replace this battery??

How do you protect against a dead battery?
Do you connect straight to your battery or go through a battery charger? I have a 12amp battery charger connected to two 27group deep cycle batteries. trying to figure out how to wire it up. The batteries are connected in series I believe since the tm is 24v. I'm looking to get this setup https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PWK9Z7Q/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza thoughts?

help: Humminbird mega imaging not showing up on finder
Hey everyone, went to use my front finder today and noticed that my mega imaging downscan wasn't working. I couldn't see anything at all on it...just a black screen. I called the humminbird customer service and she recommended me switch to HW+MSI but that didn't do anything. I switched it back to mega (under sonar) but just got these images Any ideas what is going on? I also noticed that my depth was way off. I checked with my navionics app and with my other helix 7....it was showing about +15-25ft off at some points. This unit and sensor are only a few months old and they were working fine I believe. Thanks

Fishing new lake-what would you throw to cover water?
So went today, didn't get a lot of time to fish...but man, I tried everything. Squarebill, spinnerbait, jerkbait, rockcrawler, keitech fat on an underspin...nothing. Got a phone call while I was out there, so while on the phone I took a drop shot and threw it out...3.5lb LMB! LOL Then next cast in same spot 3lb bass. Go figure

Going to a lake with no map-What’s best way to record with Humminbird?
Ha obviously I hadn't had a chance to watch that video before I asked this question. Do you have to have the zero lines card in order to record? Just you just record onto a blank SD Card?
