  1. Yes buy it especially if it's less than $100 that's an easy fix on that corner.
  2. Porter Cable DA look at chemical guys website they often have very good sales. I bought a new PC DA on sale as a kit came with extra pads and what not. I ran a detail shop for years and still do it on the side and for the money PC cannot be beat. Now onto the important stuff I highly recommend collonite 845 insulator wax for anything and everything you own. Polish with a DA and a light-mild compound then use the insulator wax boat will look new. With that wax you only want an extremely thin layer, like can barely tell it's on thin. Make sure it is 100%dry or you will play hell removing.
  3. There are. My pb bass which is from.my homestate of Ohio was 8.4# came from a small pond maybe 1 acre total in size just deep. Also caught multiple 7s from same pond. Just have to find where the big ones are. You can't catch what's not there. Hell at portage lakes in two tournaments their was bass over 7# weighed in and multiple 5 and 6# fish. I live 15 min from the lake and don't mind it at all
  4. My deep cranking rod is 5.1:1 I also use it for chatterbaits. My topwater squarebill and jerkbait rods I use 5.3:1 my flipping and frogging rods are 7.5:1 and 8.3:1
  5. Depends on th size of the bait. For your average size creature baits I say 3/0 flippin hook. I found out the hard way during a tournament once. Kept missing fish that should have been hooked. Dropped to a 3/0 and hooked and landed every fish and yes on the same bait
  6. Bandits in rootbeer and redcraw will deffinately not I repeat NOT crush the smallies just don't even waste your time
  7. Just say what happened. You set the hook and it broke. Short sweet to the point. I will no longer buy St Croix products after having two expensive rods break on their first trips out on separate occasions
  8. It was in response to the O.P but if you go east this weekend look for them on beds and rig a short dropshot. There should still be some fish on beds If not just throw cranks
  9. You could ferry out to the islands and fish jerkbaits cranks jigs etc... Or go out of east harbor and paddle out the channel to the main lake and fish all that area with cranks or jerkbaits. You will catch big smallies and largemouth there. Just be on the lookout for boats and youll be fine. I fish that area with a 16' tracker and a buddy of mine fishes east harbor weekly with a kayak. Just be safe and Smart and you will be fine!
  10. Head an hour south to portage lakes and beat your PB no need to travel all over the country to catch a largie over 5#
  11. From my experience I agree with you, fish your bait moving with the direction of the flow. But under certain circumstances I have found that working against the current will out produce.
  12. John penguin where are you located at
  13. Don't know about the slx rods but I fish my frogs on a 7'3 heavy or med heavy depending on cover and have no issues
  14. Hard to beat a pop r or small buzzbait
  15. What is the name of the company you started
  16. That's called a horny chub. Yes that's correct. They get them horns during spawning season
  17. I'll chime in on this. We have zebra mussels here in Ohio. One lake I thought was going to stay nice and stained and not get them in it. I go there yesterday and BAM clear as can be. Instantly see the zebras everywhere you can see bottom and on every piece of weeds or a stick you reel In. What I thought was a lake that was going to be spared is looking like it will be the worst one around here. I caught absolutely zero bass in the typical spots I catch them in Everytime I fish this lake. Smallies benefit from them no doubt. Largemouth I'm not so convinced.
  18. Not sure of your location but here in Ohio it gets so hot around august that oxygen levels start to diminish and the big fish in our lakes will push to super super shallow water at the hottest part of the day. My biggest bass last year was 5.75# on a day in august hot enough to choke you with water temps pushing 90°. So I guess any advice I could give you is fish big worms on weed edges and big jigs in the nastiest cover you can find. I started fishing magnum worms 2 years ago and the average size fish I catch now has probably increased by close to a pound but the numbers have not dropped by a noticeable amount. You will still get a number of small bites so your not only catching one or two a day like happens with giant jigs sometimes. Also if you throw a buzzbait or frog at high noon that can also produce some giant hot water fish. Good luck in your hawg hunting. Think outside the box sometimes and the big ones will come
  19. Let's see a picture of this monster

Crunch both slices of bread to seal in the jelly only way to do it. Also build a seal out of the peanut butter to help keep jelly in. We call them peanut butter and helly when it gets on the boat carpet
  21. Woahhh **** don't know if I would rather get hit by truck or the wrecking ball that hit me! Regardless modern medicine and surgeries are pretty good, two big rods and bunch of screws in my back and two plates and pile of screws in left foot and hours worth of rehab I'll be good as something when I'm healed haha
  22. Can't you still fish for them just not keep them?
  23. Is he busted up too
  24. Long story short I'm lucky to be alive let alone fishing this year as back in February I had a very bad work accident got hit with overhaul ball on crane broke 5 vertebrae and a pile of other bones including left foot and right ankle. Although I am not a religious person at all I feel I have been rewarded for working hard with therapy to recover from the surgery's and going through physical therapy and being in a hospital for 21 days. So far I have a 4.75 and a 5.39 for my two biggest so far this year as well as one other one over 4 and quite a few in the 3# range. Almost forgot to add these are Ohio fish
  25. That's about a 4.5+# smallie congrats! Try to look a little happier though!
