What high end item is worth the extra cost?
@Swamp Girl Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe you and @bulldog1935 are both running Stradics on St Croix glass crankbait rods🤔 Beautiful setup btw.

What high end item is worth the extra cost?
@FishTank I hate to admit this but I received a Megabass vision 110 jr and a JH bladed jig when I purchased a couple reels from Japan Lure Shop and I’m actually paranoid about using them even though I know both lures work based on the results posted on here😬 I will also add @Swamp Girl my Stradic is mounted to my most expensive rod which is a St Croix Avid Panfish series 7’-0” rod and I really am glad I purchased both.

What high end item is worth the extra cost?
@Swamp Girl I much like many on here have a budget I stick to for both my rods and reels and will say my highest end reel is also a Stradic that I bought based on the many reviews full of love for this reel on this site. A handful of members have spoken about the same thing that @FloridaFishinFool is referring to about the trickle down effect from the Stella to the Stradic 2 of them being @bulldog1935 and @FishTank and if I ever decide on a high budget reel it will be a Shimano Vanquish which both of the aforementioned members own and speak highly of. And if I ever get super serious about fishing I’m calling up @A-Jay as I love both your boat and the truck you tow it with.

New state record Muskie in Wisconsin
I just heard on my local sports station a new state record musky was caught verified and released measuring 56” with a 25” girth. It was also reported it was a stocked fish from the Wisconsin DNR. My apologies if this has already been posted and I just didn’t see it.

So after a few seasons dipping my toes into the bfs game I finally got a few albeit small fish yesterday after work. My setup consists of a Piscifun reel that came with a shallow spool in addition to a regular spool and my rod for now is a older Mitchell Fulcrum 6’-0” medium powered rod spooled with 6pound Suffix 832. I’ve been getting a lot of advice both from the general community on here and personal advice from @bulldog1935 and I will say I have a different perspective about those of you that really get involved in this style. My first hook up was a 12” or so bass that came unbuttoned when he jumped out of the water and man that was addictive to say the least and has me thinking about trying out a bfs specific rod next season.

What crankbait rod.....
If you’re looking to stay around $100.00 13 fishing offers a few different crankbait bait specific rods ranging from $60-$100.00 that should fit the bill for you. Although I don’t own this specific rod I do have a $80.00 rod from them that I really like. Here’s the crankbait specific rod. I will also add BPS has a crankbait specific rod in their in house lineup also for $80.00.

Reel Parts for Bass Pro Reels?
Although I believe you said you don’t have a BPS close by if you bring it in they have you fill out a service card and they take care of shipping it to the service center for you and at least for my experience the reel technician called me prior to starting the work which was above and beyond my expectations.

Reel Parts for Bass Pro Reels?
I sent an older model pro qualifier spinning reel to BPS’s service center and I was really pleased with the service. They even sent a 1/2 of a spare frame.

What is Your “Cadillac” Reel?
@new2BC4bass So at the time I responded my Tatula 80 was and still is my favorite reel due to both the braking system and the compact size. I have mid sized hands with plump fingers and I really appreciate the size of the frame which is the same size as an Alphas if you’re looking for a SV spool. I also like the fact that although it’s compact it holds plenty of line regardless of whether it’s mono or braid and lastly the fact it’s an Aluminum frame and available for a little over $100.00 currently makes it a great reel that can be used for a variety of presentations in my opinion.

What is Your “Cadillac” Reel?
Oh I’ll try to tomorrow if @PhishLI hasn’t already by punishing his with 30 pound braid on a medium heavy rod and fishing weed choked waters that are highly pressured pulling out some of the nicest bass seen on this site.

I’m wondering if Daiwa is planning on an upgrade? No matter what I’m definitely keeping my eyes open for the deals as I’ve been wanting to upgrade either my Tat CT or my Tat 100 (previous version) with a current version Tat 100 but there’s just something about it that’s not as comfortable for me as many other reels including the aforementioned Tatula 100 and Tatula CT. I also love reading you have yours mounted on a medium heavy rod as I know you fish way more weed choked waters than I do and aren’t afraid to put it through its paces with 30 pound braid.- Road To The Superbowl 2026
I’m sorry to say this but he either needs to be traded for his own safety or somebody needs to find that man some offensive lineman that can offer protection. I say this as a Joe Burrow fan btw.- Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
I finally got out today😃 It was only 30 minutes between thunderstorms but hey I’ll take whatever I can get at this point. Both caught on my BPS 5’-6” ultralight paired with a Tica Cetus and a 1/32 ounce jig head and a crappie tube. Thanks again @bulldog1935!- Road To The Superbowl 2026
Mike you are seriously my rock in this storm of a season so far and for that I thank you 😃- The latest sale thread
@Banned User That had me laughing out loud. On a serious note I have the exact reel you bought and mine is spooled with 10 pound Suffix Advance Monofilament/ Co-Polymer and it’s seen action on 2 different 7’-0” rods a medium/fast and a 7’-0” med+mod fast rod and mainly threw bladed jig Mini Max’s and or a Strike King Bitsy Bug Mii Jig in 1/8 ounce and I absolutely love this reel henceforth why I’m so sick I can’t take advantage of this deal currently but I’m keeping an eye on this site for future purchases 😬 Oh and currently I have the Tatula 80 mounted to a 6’-10” med fast KK Speed Demon Pro Attached to a Vision 110 Junior waiting for the weeds to die down a bit with the upcoming cooler weather.- Road To The Superbowl 2026
@Mike L I don’t want to jinx anything but wow it’s like watching a completely different team this week 😬- The latest sale thread
Im not going to lie I didn’t need it either but it appears as of now that it was/is too good of a deal to pass up in my opinion. Also a great deal in my opinion is the deal on the Tatula 80 that @Columbia Craw posted and if I could I would definitely grab one. Also in regards to CC’s post they have quite a few deals on fishing gear and I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on them for future purchases. That stinks and I’m sure hoping this has a good ending as in you receive what is rightfully yours and not some lame excuse.- Latest,Rods & Reels Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
