  1. No I don't think they are going anywhere. I have caught lots of hybrid and white bass that are hitting surface baits or are feeding on shad on the surface. Those other "lazy" bass are also there. They just don't expend the energy to chase stuff. They tend to lay below the action and feed on the injured baitfish that flutter down. Use a sinking lipless crank, spoon, or other type bait. If you can get it past the agressive fish you should be able to hook up with more smb and lmb. However, it is a lot of fun to catch those hybrids on any kind of bait.
  2. I have been keeping a data base record of all my fishing trips for several years. I track about 20 items with the moon phase being one of them. I have found that there is almost no correlation between numbers or size of fish and the moon phase. Now lake levels are a whole different story.

Hit a few garage sales and get you a $5 toaster oven. Mine only cost $2. You can use it to heat up the heads, then bake on the finish.
  5. E-Z Lap pen style http://budk.com/Brands/Eze-Lap?sourcecode=GONBBK&gclid=COex_ZOYmaICFQ0M2god6T7YXA
  6. I have several HMG rods. One finally wore out after 10 years of hard use. I found the Lifetime Warranty very satisfactory.
  7. Jigs, single spins, tubes, worms Spots close to where I'd fish during the day. I try shallow after it has been dark for a few hours. The bite usually drops off after 2 am until close to daylight so I normally pack up and go home or tie up and sleep for a couple of hours.
  8. Custom molds can run from as little as $100 each or as much as $500 depending on design and amount of cavities. I order my stuff from Bear's and Lure Craft.
  9. Lots of times you have to help the line spool on evenly by applying side pressure as you are winding the line on.
  10. Have you tried a google search?
  11. Yes you can melt them down. If they contain salt, throw them away because salt sinks and it troublesome. You can make molds out of plaster of paris, silicone, bondo resin, aluminum, etc. or you can buy them from lots of sources. Go to www.tackleunderground.com and spend a couple of days researching and reading and you will get more than your brain can process. Good luck
  12. If the stuff is on the back, that is where I'd start. Mineral spirits, acetone, etc. Put it on paper towels and try small areas to see if it will clean and do no harm. If worse comes to worse, get on tackleunderground and ask for some help. There are a lot more bait makers there than here.
  13. What are the molds made of, aluminum, resin, silicone?
  14. I don't use trailers on spinnerbaits unless it is a trailer hook.
  15. Lots of times those big old girls move out and suspend in timber after they have done the motherly thing. Zara spooks in the tops of cedars have worked well for me.
  16. I have yet to use a braid that didn't lose it dye and turn white after some time. I have yellow gunk since I use the Hi Vis yellow.
  17. I use 1/2 oz to make a 5" so you should get close to 40.
  18. Around here tubes are the best sm baits I have ever found. 3 1/2-4" are what I use. I fish them as deep as 50' in the winter. I just go for a heavier head as the water gets deeper (1/4 or 3/8 oz.). When deeper than 25' I like to use a braided line with a fluro leader to give more sensitivity.
  19. If your lake is Beaver the spinnerbait bite may be like up here (not good anymore). I go with jigs, senkos, and tubes. I have them in many sizes so I keep trying until I get the size that allows me to fish the way I want to. You also should be able to get up some of the streams and lessen the effect of the wind. I mostly fish Stockton and some days you can not get out of the wind no matter where you go.
  20. If by falling apart you mean the skirts, get some wire from a hdw store and put those suckers on where they will never come off.
  21. Check your owner's manual and see what it says. I hauled bass boats for lots of years with only a bumper ball.
  22. For all but cold weather, BPS 100 mph gortex by far.
