  1. Great, Thanks! Thanks for pushing me into the monkey's clutches once again.
  2. I think the RCSB 1016 g1 SV, is for steez. Capacity, RCSB 1016 g1 SV spool - 16lbs 110m RCSB SV 1000 Deep spool - 12lbs 80m Best I could do.
  3. Only smallies I've caught have been off of a spinnerbait and jerkbaits. I really like fishing the jerkbait, feel like I'm working for the fish. Love manipulating the bait to get the fish to commit. Love when they follow my bait to shore, kill bait... twitch... BAM!
  4. You mock us? No likes for you, come back one year. You Monkey, you!
  5. I put finger on top of line at reel. I also don't have any problems with leader not passing though T-wing. Honestly I cant see how leader knot would get stuck, that opening is bigger that any I have seen on any reel.
  6. I do, yellow. Really helped with weightless/slack line presentations.
  7. I've been using CLP. Acetone bearings and applied one drop of CLP, was amazed with smoothness and increased casting difference. Felt great denying the Monkey, can find it anywhere and is cheap.
  8. Why, didn't I think of that? I never even considered swimming a "worm", so much to learn.
  9. Just when I thought I had lightened my load. Goes to trash can, digs out baits! Just when I thought I had lightened my load. Goes to trash can, digs out baits!
  10. I have several neighbors that ask do I still enjoy fishing when I don't catch(I fish daily), my response is fishing is the cake, fish are the icing. The hunt is fishing for me, I love surveying the water. Lately fishing has been tough and to add to that the canal I am fishing is constantly in flux, constant water level/current change as farmers order water or not. The low water has reveled to me where I'll be casting my baits come spring and summer. Rock/wood/holes that I had no idea were there. Its the learning that I like the best, developing techniques that will give me a shot in the unique conditions that I fish in. And when all of those ah-ha moments, come together. Priceless!
  11. Without a doubt! Was a jerkless fisherman until LMB shut down, threw a jerkbait for first time and BAM smallmouth. Boring? Not! I love manipulating these smallmouth with a jerkbait, they will often follow bait to shore, pause it there and give a twitch and they attack. In my opinion one of the more rewarding ways to catch fish.
  12. When it comes to fish, I speak no bull. Honest! Thanks, I'll look into it.
  13. Thanks guy's. State, Fed, Fish and game contacted. EPA, waiting on call back.
  14. No, not the flying type. Snow birds are dumping their RV tanks in our local ponds, lots of floating fish and the stink. Apparently the local govt doesn't care (money), so I'm looking for Ideas on how to solve this problem for the part of our community that does care. I have a group that is willing to go on a You tube shamming blitz with me, but I'd like to know what agencies I could contact about this? DFG seems to thin in our area as far as personnel to enforce this. How else can I make a big stink (pun intended) about this problem? I am completely prepared to be a complete you know what about this (think James o"keefe). I am willing to go to whatever lengths necessary to put a stop to this disgusting BS that is ruining one of our fisheries.
  15. Yep and up to 499.00 from what I have seen. I took that 500.000 and bought a bandsaw, bench sander and some supplies. Rather pay myself.
  16. The fish will let you know. No fish something has to change. Everything we do is to adapt to what the fish want, this winter speed with a jerkbait has been king for smallmouth in my area. I found this out by progressing though what I believed the fish may want. Come to find out they didn't want slow with pauses, they want long casts with ridiculously hard/long jerks of the bait. Not a problem with 7:1.1 to pick up 6 to 8 feet of line, an 8 ratio would be even easier on me. I think its easier to have a faster reel and slow down than have to speed up a slower reel.
  17. I am so sorry for your loss Tom, God bless you and your family.
  18. I thought Dick's was a clothing store, that dabbled in sporting goods.
  19. Like half of a big/giant TRD?
  20. Man I gotta second this. These are not your run of the mill articles and many of them are more like the best of threads. I say start with fishing lures/jerkbaits. Seriously helped me up my game.
  21. I'll be, this afternoon I had a dink smallie follow my bait twice, both times right at the bank he'd pull off, I'd kill the bait give a twitch and bam he would attack. Aggressive little guy never found a hook and I never felt a d**n thing. Maybe I was too entertained with his antics to feel it, but he was defiantly trying to eat my jerkbait. Certainly in keeping with what Tom posted earlier about missing strikes on treble hook baits.
