Well, I learned a valuable lesson with braid today
I pretty much exclusively fish braid and have never broken a rod in 25 years while fishing. I did break one in a car door and I step on one but never broken one while fishing...

But where is the rat l trap? Is this clickbait?

Anyone else not fish for bass very often?
I didn't buy all these jackhammer's to catch carp.

Travel rods
I have a travel spinning and a travel casting. They get the job done for what they are... Both are telescoping because I dont like the idea of multiple pieces. I got the Kastking Blackhawk II models. Spinning Medium Power, 7'0" Casting MH Power, 7'1" I would recommend them.

Daiwa Tatula CT Handle and Levelwind Bushings to Bearings
I got mine off ebay from the Ukraine. ABEC 5... I think it cost me 35 dollars for 20 of them shipped.

Daiwa Tatula CT Handle and Levelwind Bushings to Bearings
4x7x2.5 mm. Takes 2 per knob. 2 for the levelwind. Edit: I upgraded all 6 of my CT and CT type R's.

Lucky Craft Pointers gone bad!!
I dont think the pointers use any sorts of magnets - It's a weight transfer system. I would guess Scott is correct and through stress and age, water got into them and caused rust or the transfer system isn't working due to stress fractures. Either way, if they arent working properly, it may be time to retire them.

What knot do you use for mono
Palomar, Uni, Pitzen, Clinch or San Diego Jam. I switch it up all the time so I don't forget the different ones P.S. I also have an app on my phone so I can look up any knot

wacky rigs
Depends on what size senko you are using. I use casting gear for 5"+ but anything smaller and a few of the skinnier ones, I use spinning gear. When bank fishing walking stealthily, casting your shadow away from the water and standing well back from the shore - short, accurate casts are often better than bombs

To fish?? Or not to fish.. ??
You southern boys acting like 50's is cold. 55 - I would be fishing in shorts and flip flops.
-
wacky rigs
Almost always weightless - any weight kind of kills the action.

Help identifying this bait?
Sounds like a floater. That's important if you are trying to get the same one - also important with rip baits that small to have the same size/type line on and the way you have it rigged up to keep the action the same. But sometimes you may want to change up the action... Looks like the color you are looking for is Baby Brook Trout. https://www.ebay.com/itm/233560694821

Fluke info
I use owner twistlocks - 4/0 size I believe. There are a lot of options though - you can use a wacky style hook and nose hook it, a regular offset hook and thread it on...just depends what action and how you are going to fish it. I like to do the donkey rig with two flukes a lot of the time in the summer. Edit - I would like to add, I rig mine weedless and "upside down", if you will

Help identifying this bait?
Looks like a Yo Zuri Pins minnow to me. Does it float, suspend or sink?

Reeling in fish with FC line, kind of weird
I started on braid with a baitcaster 25 years ago and have never looked back. I have no problem using straight mono or fluoro but still prefer the feel and control of braid. I employ leaders for the most part, anywhere from 6' to 30' depending on what I am doing. I have always felt braid was especially made for baitcasters as it is way easier to handle and you dont have to worry about random knots/loops forming like on spinning rigs...

Shaky Head vs NEKO
With a neko I find myself using a floating Wormz from zman and an open hook. With a shaky head I am using some sort of trick worm and hooking it weedless. So basically what team9nine said is spot on.

ARCHIVE OF MONEY WINNING BAITS?
And just because the pro is using said bait, doesn't mean it is the production model available to us... Companies make special runs for pros...and oft times you cant trust the information at face value.

Vision 110: Table Rock SP vs. (FX version) GP Pro Table Rock
I have a couple of these and the problem I am having is the front treble hooks on the line far more often than any other jerkbait. TBH I don't notice a huge uptick in casting ability with this version over the original but the action is great. Has anyone else had the front treble hangup more often than others? I have had this occur with the stock hook and replacements. I am using a 10# fluoro leader more often than not.
