I keep seeing an advertisement for this Ned Head and I am intrigued because it looks incredibly weedless but I am worried the angle wouldn't pin the fish very well and cause a lot of fish lost before landing them. Has anyone tried these? https://www.ebay.com/itm/232586002629

I have two - the only problem is I installed bearings in them rather than bushings. I hope that is ok. Are you sure they fit on the current reel knob shafts? If not, I have the reel handle I can send you too.

But the thing is, they can show us the product, prototypes, some finished product maybe, but there will be no product to sell. With everything shut down the companies are not getting any products produced or packaged...

I thought the wraps were cool but I question how they would change the buoyancy and the action. Must have made a hell of a mess and noise to break one clear in half!

I remember the days when I used a ~5.1:1 baitcaster with 30 lb braid on a medium 6' ugly stick for everything. And I mean everything; Spinnerbaits, frogs, worms, buzzbaits, crankbaits and even some musky lures like bucktails and suicks. I don't seem to remember missing many fish and I seem to remember catching a lot of fish. If you get used to it, you can pretty much learn to use a rod for anything - just have to learn the nuances to make it effective.

You could buy the 6 inch zoom lizard and cut off the head.

I got a bunch of it on clearance at wal mart last year. I also read the negative reviews but tried it anyway and so far, as long as you check the line for abrasion it is pretty fantastic.

Not at all. These lines are so thin and casting distance is the goal, so I stay away from a knot going through the guides that would decrease distance.

I stay away from Fluoro due to weak knots. With line that thin you dont have any room for error. I found fireline in 8# or gliss in 10# gave the best performance on a BFS setup.

Top water? Man, that was so long ago, I don't remember... lol. For the ones you asked about I usually use 30 or 40 lb braid to a 10# or 12# mono leader.

Of anyone I have ever watched, he is the most infuriating. He attacks people in the comments and he is truly terrible at using baitcasters. He obviously has very little understanding of how reels work.
