Jerkbaits for smaller lakes and ponds
I've caught some pretty big fish out of one of them. Pic below was a 3.8lb on a zoom baby brush hog with a 3/16oz tungsten weight last September. Both ponds are ran by the same park officials who restock it every 2 years with baby bass and catfish to keep it in check.

Jerkbaits for smaller lakes and ponds
My bass aren't that big though. Most are 1 to 2.5lbs are a dozen or more 3 to 4lbers that bite every now and then. Wouldn't the jerkbaits just rise up aswell? I'm not really knowledgeable between the floaters and normal JBs

Jerkbaits for smaller lakes and ponds
I've tried glidebaits, bass don't like them very well but around here the pickerel attack them like crazy. My ponds are both subdivision and treated with stuff that kills off excessive grass. Plus I only plan on throwing jerkbaits in the spring when it's not as bad. I've heard about the cutters, what colors would you recommend throwing in slighty to mild stained water? The only color jerkbaits I've had success on in the ponds are clown and some type of firetiger/shad patterns.

Jerkbaits for smaller lakes and ponds
What are some jerkbaits I could throw in smaller lakes and ponds? So far I only throw the Rapala Husky Jerk and xrap around my waterbodies but I'm interested in buying new jerkbaits down the road before the spring begins. Any recommendations?

Today's Bass Fishing YouTube influencers
In regards to OP I would recommend showing your kids content that would help them become better anglers. I'm 22 and that's all I watch on the fishing side of YouTube. No "20 dollar walmart challenges" just videos on how to become better fishermen, also introduce the kids to the bassresource channel. Great tips for almost anything related to bass fishing.

Green pumpkin or green pumpkin fleck
How are some of the Tackle Warehouse exclusive colors for certain baits? I always wanted to try out the special zman chatterbait TW exclusives they had on there. No idea TW also had some SK stuff.

Green pumpkin or green pumpkin fleck
Which version of the color do you throw and why? Normal green pumpkin or GP with some form of fleck? (Green/purple etc) For me I love green pumpkin purple fleck, It's a staple in my tackle bag for almost anything, works really well in stained water. Green pumpkin blue is also a close second. I Just don't have many bites with standard GP unless I'm fishing clearer water. Berkley makes a great color of GP purple for their pitboss.

Do bass feed more aggressively after a bad winter?
This^ but for crappie!! Best time to catch em is when ice is gone but the water is still too cold for bass! Already have an ultra light ready to go hahaha

Do bass feed more aggressively after a bad winter?
That's the basics of the argument really. Bass who are trapped in freezing temps will eat much more when the intial ice out in warming temps around late March/Early April (at least here in the Northeast) compared to it being a rather mild winter with a cold and wet spring. Last year for example we had a very mild winter with some days being 60degrees in February. I think the bass prematurely went shallow and started to feed instead of doing it in April, because the spring bite sucked last year and the fish went straight from winter mode into spawn. I'm under the impression Southern bass pretty much feed all year long, I don't know what part of the country you're from but I'm guessing down south? Is the recent cold weather badly effecting the fish down there?

Do bass feed more aggressively after a bad winter?
This argument probably goes more towards the Northern Strain Largemouths and Smallmouths.

Do bass feed more aggressively after a bad winter?
I hope so, as I'm writing this we just got hammered with 6 inches of snow today. Spring can't get here any quicker.

What are your favorite Shallow Water Cranks? Brand, Style, Colors?

Do bass feed more aggressively after a bad winter?
Yeah I was starting to lean towards that. Maybe because the fish have more feeding windows during a mild winter? This topic is really interesting hahaha

Do bass feed more aggressively after a bad winter?
I remember hearing this story a few years ago at a tournament up here that if there was a bad winter with plenty of snow and cold temperatures the bass would feed much more aggressively in the spring to follow compared to a mild winter. How much truth is this? Fact or just a myth? Always wondered this question but especially more this year with all the bad snowstorms the country is getting at the moment.

What ruins a fishing trip for you more than anything?
Late to the party here but getting a wicked backlash on the first or second cast which results in me getting it out for 15 minutes ruins any trip for me even if I catch a bunch of fish big or small. I hate backlashes.

Jerkbaits and suspending strips
How does water temperature work in all this? I heard if the water is at 48 degrees or lower you'll want to use more of the strip vs when the water temp is higher because the suspension changes. Also what color HJ is that? Hahaha

Jerkbaits and suspending strips
Hey BR, this year I really want to up my jerkbait game but I'm conflicted on using suspend strips. My main jerkbaits of choice I plan to throw in the early spring is the Rapala Husky Jerk 10 and Xrap, now these baits are already listed as suspending jerkbaits but I've noticed they rise up quicker than I want them to. How would I go on to make my jerkbaits suspend slower? Would suspend strips work? Or would it be better to change out the trebels or get new split rings? I only fish shallow water 2 to 5 feet for the most part in smaller lakes and ponds.

Finesse jigs on baitcasters
I was thinking about getting this one, what colors would you recommend for stained water? also would any of those trailers work in the cold weather? i was thinking more of a smallie beaver type bait to put on the back of it.
-
Finesse jigs on baitcasters
What are some good finesse jigs I could throw on a baitcaster? I have no intention of throwing any normal sized jigs until the water really starts to warm up around here (NJ) My bass are pretty finicky until April but smaller profiles will produce bites until then.

Does red colored lures work in ponds?
I plan too hahaha, but I wanted expert opinion before hand lol

Does red colored lures work in ponds?
If I was to throw a fire red crankbait or maybe even a red chatterbait like the fire craw jackhammer (in a pond with no crawfish) in Early Spring would I still catch bass? Would they pay any attention to red lures?
