  1. I can testify to that I've had yellow perch attack big swim jigs and chatterbaits before, even 4inch worms.
  2. Please speak of these "tips" to another angler in need of learning lol
  3. I currently have a Enigma Ippon 6:6:1 baitcasting reel I need to send in for repairs, more specifically the reel won't engage anymore after casting due to dirt I just simply can't reach it and tried my hardest to keep it maintained, does DVT still repair reels for forum members? If not do you guys know anyone else I can send this in for repairs so my reel will engage again?
  4. IMO there's better alternatives on the market instead. No hate to the Googan Squad but their entire lineup is dedicated to their teenager audience who are just getting into the sport, I'm young myself (early 20s) and I don't even use their baits unlike my fellow age peers who seem to be obsessed with their products. One style I do like though from the googan line up is the Trench Hog, it gives that long worm style body and some added action. Pretty cool design IMO. Missile baits D bomb >>>>> What ever Googan baits has to offer.
  5. I'm surprised the fish there have pigment with the water clarity, that bass you caught looks like it could be caught from a clear lake. My bass are gray or light green in the pond pictured above.
  6. Have a look at some more pics of the pond, most people fish in the openings as pictured and on the dock in the second pic, myself included. Usually do pretty well near those trees in the first pic on the right side. Also most of the casual anglers that fish here go after bluegill with bobbers and worms, many people do throw spinnerbaits and wacky rigged worms.
  7. What type of texas rig baits would you recommend for pea soup water? Everyone here throws the wacky rig and usually has some luck but most of the time when the water clears a bit more up.
  8. I usually do pretty well here with my chatterbaits but it's been a grind. I feel like the fish are getting used to it. They'll bite soft plastics that usually have a lot of action like the pitboss and rage craws. Besides the chatterbait what else would you recommend throwing there?
  9. How would you guys fish this pond? I usually do pretty well here with worms and bladed jigs but now since this algae popped up heavily than before because of the heat the bite went downhill. I've only been able to get the occasional reaction bite but nothing else has worked. It's a park pond but it usually produces nice cookie cutter size fish and is only 6 feet max at one spot. Bottom is mostly mud with little vegetation and some rocks, and yes this place recieves heavy pressure. How would you fish it?
  10. Anyone fish with these brand of baits? Heard a lot of good things about them, I personally only use the sweet beavers right now but i'm interested in some other plastics they have, I really like the design of the pocket rocket worm they have.
  11. It's funny you say that because from the 25th of May to around the 8th of June I was also on a skunk streak, it's like the bite shut down hard right after spawn.
  12. I Love those things, favorite color is sun perch. Probably the only spinnerbait I throw around here alongside some night time colorados. (Pond fisherman here)
  13. Definition of getting skunked means no fish at all during a trip. This could be 15 minutes or 6 hours. No fish at all = skunk.
  14. I'll start. 6 months. I'm also currently on a 3 day skunk because of the hurricane we had.
  15. It's funny you bring this up because you actually sold me on them A-Jay, I made a similar thread about a year ago and I managed to get my hands on a few and love them now. 6th sense makes great products I personally love their swim jigs and crankbaits.
  16. 6th sense divine hybrid jig. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/6th_Sense_Divine_Hybrid_Jig/descpage-6SDVHJ.html
  17. We needed this storm in NJ... hopefully the water cooled down because of the rain and the bite picks up again. Not only that but some parts of our state needed the rain.
  18. Same man! It's been an amazing season for me!! Got on some nice sized fish this year!
  19. For me it's been good considering the situation I'm in as I can only fish certain bodies of water and I fish from the bank, I keep track of all the bass I caught this year compared to 2019, by the end of 2019 I had 48 bass logged in fishbrain and in total I probably caught around 50 without logging a few, this past sunday I logged my 101st fish on there. My first bass this year was caught on the 8th of may and I've caught 53 since then and the season isn't even over, in 2019 I started late and didn't really catch any until mid july and was on a hot bite until mid november then it started slowing down, if I play my cards right and manage to get a hot bite again which has been non exist recently (thanks heat wave) I'm hoping to log another 50 or so before that late fall period comes around. Definitely upping my numbers compared to last year. If I was in your shoes Mr Jedi I would take 200+ fish every year!! Lmao!
  20. I had to deal with a very crowded pond this past friday night, it got so bad that every opening on the pond was filed up with karens allowing their kids to throw rocks in the water and casual anglers who only throw inline spinners crossing me constantly. Eventually one ******* kept crossing me because I was fishing next to a overhanging tree I guess he thought fish were there even though he could see my line going out 15 feet to his left (bushes blocked us so we couldn't see each other) I eventually snapped after getting crossed for the 5th time and picked up a giant log behind me and hail marry it into the water where he was casting.. I wanted to say to this jerk from around the bushes "wanna act like an *******? Okay now have fun catching anything after that." but I decided not to be confrontational.
  21. New Jersey angler here, I was thinking the same thing, hasn't been great here either for the past two weeks. We had a nasty heatwave roll in a week and a half ago and it killed the fishing basically, we're expected to get this rain either tomorrow or Wednesday, I'm really hopping it brings a sense of "fresh air" back to the fishing here. Some parts of our state are considered to be "abnormally dry" because of the lackluster rain. One of My local lakes has had it's water lowered because of this and I hope the storm brings it back up to pre summer levels.
  22. I haven't caught a bass on a slow moving bait like soft plastics since a week and a half ago. All my fish have been reaction bites by burning baits and nothing else. My last actual bass was caught this past Tuesday. The dog days of summer are here. If this continues where they don't want nothing to do with finesse/slow baits it's gonna be a tough month of fishing.
  23. Thunderstorms are nasty, I'd definitely try to go before, post front conditions are awful to fish, despite what ever "youtube fishing experts with tips" say, we're getting storms tomorrow afternoon but I'm fishing today and tomorrow morning. Hopefully should get on some myself.
