  1. oooooooohhhhhh, I'm so scared! I don't know which would be worse, the stick or the senko ;D Guess it's a good thing I'm hundreds of miles away Think I'll just hook to the boat and go fishing! Maybe I can stay out of trouble out there Then again, maybe I can't ;D ;D ;D
  2. No worries! I certainly took no offense. I was just trying to relay my sincere thanks to all you guys! You have truly helped me. No only in fishing but in filling in some tough times! Fishing is my "escape" from the realities of life. The stressors and when I can't be out there, you guys help trememdously!!! I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of such a great bunch of people! I just hope you don't get too tired of my pics and posts! deb
  3. Guys, as a "newbie" I'm sorry if I/we seem redundant or boring. It's really not our intention. Although I've been fishing for several years, I'm learning on a daily basis thank's to you "old timers". Please don't give up on us. I enjoy reading lots of the forums and articules included on this GREAT site! Even some I didn't think I'd really be interested in at the start. Please don't give up on us. I'm so thankful someone took the time to instill a love of the water, an enjoyment of fishing (bass in particular), and a thirst for knowledge! Also a huge THANKS to my son, westpalmdude for putting me onto this site! deb

From the Kentucky girl, welcome! Nice to have another she-male on board. We are definately in the minority here but it's a wonderful site.

Sorry, for years I've called them blue heron. Last week I was talking with a guide and he informed me they were grey heron. Go figure...Anyway, I think they're neat to watch! Just wish they'd understand they don't have to fly just cause I'm around. :-/
  7. Hands down, the choice is clear...Austin. Here are the cons of being in Nashville... 1. You'd be too close to Mom. 2. You might have to endure more of Mom's cooking. 3. Mom's 160 lb rottie might figure out he's been mistaking you for a "good guy" and turn on you. 4. Your Mom might have heart failure from seeing you more than once or twice a year. 5. You'd have to endure the ENDLESS Buttkickings bass fishing your Mom would give you! ;D ;D Now that I've thought it out more...NASHVILLE is the ONLY OPTION

We were out fishing Monday evening. The bass seemed to have developed a severe case of lock-jaw. As usual I was watching for wildlife. In the back of a small cove came a cracking noise, of course I looked. Just in time to see a snake falling from about 20 ft up in a tree just as an eagle came soaring over us. I wasn't quick enough to catch it on camera, shucks! We continued with our almost fruitless search for bass. One of those large gray heron was on the bank, there's lots of them here. I watched it creep up the bank, slowly. I was expecting to see it pluck a fish from the weeds but no...check out what he had for dinner... You just never know what you'll see..First time I've seen that!
  9. Wow, what cool pics. I loved the ones of the fish in the water. Your daughter is adorable too! Keep the pics coming.
  10. Sure won't catch one sitting at home! Go and catch a bunch or none, at least you'll be out there!

Kentucky Lake, more specifically, Blood River.
  12. After reading all the imput from the guys, thought I'd give my .01 worth. Yes, be yourself. Don't get handzee. Be a gentleman. It's ok to flirt but not to far too fast. Don't worry about living with your grand parents, it's much better than under an overpass! Easy on the cologne, lots of females are very sensitive to the stuff. Triggers migraines. Yes, females like to feel like the dude is paying attention and we will "test you later". Believe in yourself. Looks are only skin deep we all have our imperfections. Even the "best" looking are self concious about something. Relax. Enjoy. Have fun! When it's time to have that special person in your life, she will be there. Remember till you find her, there's always fishing!
  13. Oh no, I didn't know they could tell who I was . Now everyone knows how dumb I am! Well, I'm almost that bad....

I almost exclusively use c-rig. Sometimes t-rig. Usually lizards, but I've just acquired a HUGE box of assorted plastics so I"ll be trying those. I'm trying some topwater stuff but with NO success. So far this yr I've caught (boated) 76 bass. I've lost alot too. I fish alot (understatement). After big time back surgery I found that c-rigs hurt the least plus I seem to catch fish. First bass I ever caught on a lure was a wiggle wart. That was about 13 yrs ago! Obviously, I'm Hooked!

No such luck, had to settle for 40 Ky Lake bass instead. ;D Besides, I can't go to Florida till I get his furniture built. Problem is, I can't build furniture cause I'm always fishing. I think I've missed 5 days on the lake in the last 3 weeks. It's only a coffee table and 2 end tables that he's requested, shouldn't take too long but I've got a couple of other projects in the works. A queen size cedar bed and two runs of cedar fence. I may have to bump his stuff up to the top of the list. He does have connections! I surely do want to catch peacocks!
  16. Have you ever seen such an UGLY smallmouth? Believe it or not it weighed 3lb. I was happy for my husband. It was his largest smallie in his short time bass fishing but man what an ugly fish!!! I did catch a 2 1/2 lb humpback largemouth. I'd prefer to stick with cute ones like this 4 lb largemouth!

Thanks, can't tell I'm proud to be a Kentuckian can you? About my personal statement, hopefully if you live long enough, you learn. I hope no one has to learn how to live the way I did. Those are almost the exact words my daughter said when telling me how to go on without her. She was 17. Thankfully, we knew and had been living life to the fullest (as much as her health would allow) for the last few years of her life. She was a great teacher!
  19. Have you ever made the first cast and caught a fish and felt like this is it, NO more fishies for me? That's what happened yesterday afternoon. A tiny little largemouth, but a fish non the less. (complete with squirrels in the background) We kept fishing with my hubby catching one and I caught 2 more including this 3 1/2lb largemouth Then, nothing so of course I start singing my goofy little song...No more fishies for me but I was adding verses like, cause I keep casting in a tree... when I caught this... Not huge but a pretty 2 1/2 lb smallmouth! That's twice I've caught a fish while singing that silly song. Think I'll try for three!
  20. From one fishing female to another a great big Yeehaw! Tell her we said congrats.
  21. The name of the restaurant in Louisville is Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse. I bet his prices just went up!

I did it!!!! I splurged and spent $1 on a powerball ticket, if we win tonight, I guess I'll have to split it with you. It's only bout $30 million, you couldn't use half could you???
  23. Ok, wpd, truce! you've wounded me too deeply. You know it's my dream to catch peacocks! Mom may never be the same. :-/ LBH, sorry no squirrels for me. We only saw two other boats and they were very well behaved but I'm always on the lookout for them. They sometimes appear out of nowhere. Who knows, I may catch one on camera one of these days. I'll be ready for them this afternoon when I get back out on the lake. (if the storms hold off)

Hey Avid, would you consider picking out some lottery numbers for me? Congrats! And here I thought I was lucky catching my cutie bass yesterday. Remember, send me some numbers...... deb
  25. Thanks for all the compliments guys! In defense of wpd, mom has had a lot of years fishing and he's not been doing it all that long. I started learning from a pro, my dad. No not a pro bass fisherman but a very hard working dad that put in many long hours commercial catfishing. He instilled a love of the lake in me and inturn in wpd. So yes, I sometimes beat him and as you can see we love to tease each other but believe me, I have great pride in my son and the man he's turned out to be! Enough of that mush...let's go catch another
