  1. @NavyToad , is there any difference between the JDM Stradic vs the model I would get as BPS?
  2. Back when I first started making decent money, a good friend felt the Shimano Stradic paired with a SC Avid (spinning equipment) was the best bang for the buck (1998). I still somewhat feel that way.
  3. Like the question asks, what price point due you consider the ROI/DR is? I'm roughly $ 350.00 on reels and rods. I own a couple of NRX+ and SC LE rods that were way more but I really don't notice that much difference between my SC LT than the LE's or NRX+'s for the major difference in money. Maybe just me????
  4. Thanks guys. After doing a little more research I think I might be too high. I'll keep for for $ 115.00 though.
  5. My fishing club is having its annual garage sale and I have 2- Shimano Stradic 2500 Ci4+ reels that I'm considering selling. I baby my equipment would rate them at a 9.5 out of 10. I could almost sell them as NWB. I know the Vanford's are around $ 250.00 new. Is asking $ 200.00 out of line? TIA, Randy
  6. I've only broken two SC rods and they were both my fault but SC replaced them anyway. I have used SC for over 30 years and have not had any other issues and I've owned over 50 SC rods during that time frame.
  7. I baby the heck out of all my gear (hunting and fishing) to the point I don't enjoy it as much as I should.
  8. I prefer to fish from a boat but since I do not own one that kind of limits it down.
  9. I hope the title made sense. My friend has six different spinning rods but only has 2-3 reels. He picks the rod and attaches a reel and he's off. I have a dedicated reel for every rod. How about you guys?
  10. I have a few rods that are 10-20 years old. They're in great shape and fish like the day they were new but I was wondering how many guys sell/trade rods age they get a little age on them for something newer?
  11. @BradH, I totally agree with your internet comment. Too many people believe everything they read.
  12. I agree with what others have said about the Stradic. Been using Stradic's since 2000 and no issues!
  13. SC Victory is in that price range. Nice rod, good warranty and American made.
  14. @jitterbug127 , I totally agree with your first sentence!!!!!!!
  15. About 4 years ago I bought 3-4 top of the line rods. A SC LE, LX and 2 NRX+ rods. I wanted "top of the line" for my bank account. Now my SC Legend Xtreme has been replaced with the LX2 I believe. I'm done trying to keep up with the Jone's. If I can't catch 'em on what I have well too bad.
  16. For several years I liked purchasing the latest greatest rod, reel, bow, phone, etc.., however in the last 2 years I have decided to just be happy with what I have and quit the buying and selling of 1-2 year old equipment to fund the purchase of the latest thing. How about you guys?
  17. 99% of my reels are spinning and my oldest is a Stradic FG 2000 (white model with the wood handle). I believe I purchased it in 2000? The majority of my spinning reels are "older" Stradic Ci4+.
  18. My thumb bar has a sticking issue that I have tried to have repaired a couple of times. Anyone else have this issue?
  19. Had a Shimano Calcutta 400 TE for musky fishing. Sold it and bought a Tranx. Like the Tranx but miss the 400 TE.
  20. I've been using Stradics since 2000. My first was the pearl white FG 2000 with the wooden handle. Loved that reel. Gave it to a buddy of mine and he is still using it. Bang for the buck, ROI, whatever you want to call it I think the Stradic is the best reel.
  21. My 20 Metanium XG for BC and a 2500 size Stradic ci4+ or Vanford for Spinning.
  22. Last summer I purchased a Shimano SLX 69 MA spinning rod for around $ 100.00 and I have been very pleased with it in every way. For the money it feels like a much nicer rod.
