Are you careful with your gear?
I baby the heck out of all my gear (hunting and fishing) to the point I don't enjoy it as much as I should.

Do you mainly fish from the bank or boat?
I prefer to fish from a boat but since I do not own one that kind of limits it down.

Do you keep your reels on your rods or have many rods and one reel?
I hope the title made sense. My friend has six different spinning rods but only has 2-3 reels. He picks the rod and attaches a reel and he's off. I have a dedicated reel for every rod. How about you guys?

Does anyone retire/sell a rod due to age?
I have a few rods that are 10-20 years old. They're in great shape and fish like the day they were new but I was wondering how many guys sell/trade rods age they get a little age on them for something newer?

@BradH, I totally agree with your internet comment. Too many people believe everything they read.

Shimano Stradic FM vs Lew's HyperMag
I agree with what others have said about the Stradic. Been using Stradic's since 2000 and no issues!

@jitterbug127 , I totally agree with your first sentence!!!!!!!

Do you want the latest greatest?
About 4 years ago I bought 3-4 top of the line rods. A SC LE, LX and 2 NRX+ rods. I wanted "top of the line" for my bank account. Now my SC Legend Xtreme has been replaced with the LX2 I believe. I'm done trying to keep up with the Jone's. If I can't catch 'em on what I have well too bad.

Do you want the latest greatest?
For several years I liked purchasing the latest greatest rod, reel, bow, phone, etc.., however in the last 2 years I have decided to just be happy with what I have and quit the buying and selling of 1-2 year old equipment to fund the purchase of the latest thing. How about you guys?

Old reels
99% of my reels are spinning and my oldest is a Stradic FG 2000 (white model with the wood handle). I believe I purchased it in 2000? The majority of my spinning reels are "older" Stradic Ci4+.

So I just learned a huge lesson....
I've heard great things about DVT!

My thumb bar has a sticking issue that I have tried to have repaired a couple of times. Anyone else have this issue?

Round reels vs low profile
Had a Shimano Calcutta 400 TE for musky fishing. Sold it and bought a Tranx. Like the Tranx but miss the 400 TE.

My old school Stradic meets my new Stradic lol
I've been using Stradics since 2000. My first was the pearl white FG 2000 with the wooden handle. Loved that reel. Gave it to a buddy of mine and he is still using it. Bang for the buck, ROI, whatever you want to call it I think the Stradic is the best reel.

If you could have one reel.
My 20 Metanium XG for BC and a 2500 size Stradic ci4+ or Vanford for Spinning.

$100-150 Rod Options
Last summer I purchased a Shimano SLX 69 MA spinning rod for around $ 100.00 and I have been very pleased with it in every way. For the money it feels like a much nicer rod.

What’s your favorite rod manufacturer ?

Most Durable Spinning Reel on Market?
Since 2000 I have had probably 20 Shimano Stradics all the way from the white FG with the wooden knob to the Vanfords and have never been disappointed!

Top 6 HIGH-END Rods
My high end rods are NRX+ and Legend Elite's.

What’s Your 2025 Rod Arsenal?
I have probably a 4:1 ratio of spinners vs BC. However, the more I am using my BC's the more I am grabbing one of them. I bank fish a lot and like a SC LE 6'6"-7'0" with a 2500 Stradic on it. If I'm using a BC I like my old AVIDX 7'1" with a Curado DC on it.

Shimano SLX dependability
@Craig P, that's quite a testament to the durability of the SLX!!!!

Saint croix 7'1 MHXF
I have this same model in Mojo Bass, Avid X, and Legend Elite. I use it all the time for multiple species and multiple baits. It's my swiss army knife casting rod. I obviously really like it.

A little suprised. 92 views and only 1 response. I would have thought this has happened to others too.
