Special thanks to FishTank!
A special shout out to @FishTank! I was torn between two different models of NRX+ spinning rods and Eric was so nice that he went out and tried the baits/lures out on his rods that I plan to use to see what would be the best choice (as you all know NRX+ are $$$$$). Eric if you're ever in N. IL I have a cold beverage waiting for you!

NRX+ 842 Help
Thanks @thunderblack. I'm only concerned that I've heard that the 852S JWR is GL's best all purpose rod??? At the price GL is asking I do not want buyers remorse.

From reviews I'm torn between the 842S SJR and the 852 JWR. What you you get?

NRX+ 842 Help
@Hulkster, I'm looking for a 7'-7'1 rod. The 7'5 and 7'6 are just too tall for me to comfortably transport in my smaller car but thanks for the information.

NRX+ 842 Help
Guys, I'm about to pull the trigger on a new NRX+ Spinning Rod. I want something that is very versatile. It will be used for walleye and bass fishing mainly. I have several baitcasters for the larger lures but liked the MF of the 842. I'm normally a SC guy and a 7' MF is kind of considered the swiss army knife of spinning rods. Is this true with the NRX? I called G. Loomis and the recommended the 852 MXF instead but I would think the F would be more versatile? For bass fishing I would be using weightless senkos (wacky style) and inline Mepps spinner bucktails.

A Tough Little Zebco
I think most of us caught a ton of fish on a Zebco. I remember in Jr. High I started mowing lawns for $$ and one of the first things I bought was a Daiwa GC80 spincast reel and a Eagle Claw fiberglass rod. I thought I had a Shimano Stella and Loomis NRX+ at the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I caught more panfish on that GC80 and my Zebco that all my nicer reels and rods today!

Anti-Reverse switch?
In all my years of fishing (>50), I've NEVER used the A/R switch. I actually prefer them to not be there. Too many times I have accidently turned it on and mess up my line.

Feedback Requested - St. Croix Legend Tournament Series
I've been a SC fan since 2000. I purchased my first "nice" rod a Premier. Since then I have bought probably 30-40 SC rods. Having said that I continue to grab either an AVID, LTB or Legend Elite 99% of the time. I bought 4 of the Legend Extreme's when they came out and still have 1-2 I think. I wasn't as impressed with them as others may have been. IMHO it's just hard to beat an AVID for the money.

Feedback Requested - St. Croix Legend Tournament Series
I have five or six SC LT rods both in spinning and casting. They are GREAT rods, American made and have an excellent warranty!!!

How do you sell your rods?
I've had good luck selling to friends or FB Marketplace. No bad experiences.

Anybody else struggle with living in the past/nostalgia?
I'm opening myself up here but I've struggled for most of my life with living in the past (I'm 59). If anyone needs a pair of rose colored glasses I have the best pair in the world. The sad thing about all of it is that I've truly had a blessed life. Two great sons, a good wife (we've had/have our issues) so I really don't understand why I'm geared the way I am. For example, I try to maintain friendships with people I used to work with 20+ years ago and guess what? I'm the only one. The old co-worker/friends have all moved on. And now that my wife and I are empty nesters it's easier to look back and wish/dream. Anyone else?

Need help in choosing a 1000 size spinning reel
Guys, I'm sure this horse has been beat to death, but what spinning reel (either Daiwa or Shimano) in the $ 80-130.00 range do you recommend? I'm torn between the Sahara, Fuego, Legalis and Miravel. The reel would be going on a SC 64LF Panfish series rod. Of the four reels mentioned what would you get? The combo would be used primarily for crappie and bluegill. Thanks in advance, Randy.

What was you're best lure and set up last year?
I had good luck with both senkos and #3 Mepps bucktail. The rod was a SC Legend X 610mlxf spinning rod with a 2500 Shimano Vanford.

Advantages of a shorter rod?
I'm 59 so I remember when shorter rods were all that people used!

Shimano Nasci vs Miravel spinning reel
Thanks guys for the responses. Looks like I'm buying a Miravel.

Shimano Nasci vs Miravel spinning reel
Looking to purchase a 1000 size spinning reel and both are similar priced. What is the best reel?

Vanford vs. the new Stradic
I have both and to me it's a toss up. I've been fishing with Stradic's since the FG model and I believe that came out in '98. NEVER and issue with the numerous models I've owned.

Remember Pearl Harbor
I wonder if in 50 years anyone will "Remember Pearl"! It seems that kids today aren't taught history w/o some kind of spin associated with it. Today's generation blame the US and Truman for dropping the bomb. Easy to say 78 years later.

NRX+ 853C JWR or 843C MBR for a versatile bass rod
I throw a lot of bucktails and Rapala rattle traps, and some top water baits

NRX+ 853C JWR or 843C MBR for a versatile bass rod
So @FishTank, what is a more versatile rod in your opinion the LE or the NRX+?

NRX+ 853C JWR or 843C MBR for a versatile bass rod
@FishTankI like the 7'0"-7'1" because they fit in my Subie failrly easily. Anything longer has to go in the front seat.

NRX+ 853C JWR or 843C MBR for a versatile bass rod
Forgive me guys if this horse has been beat to death but what NRX+ bass rod would be comparable to a SC 71 MHF or MHXF? I looked at G. Loomis' website and the 853CJWR or 843CMBR looked like one of those might work. I'm looking a an "all around" bass rod. TIA, Randy
