Stradic FL or Ci4+
At this point I'd wait till the Vanguard comes out. I have several Ci4+ (2500 and 3000 size) and several different model regular Stradic's. No problems with any of them just like the lighter weight of the Ci4+ especially on long days.

What G. Loomis NRX would be like a SC LE 68 MXF?
Thanks for everyone for their replies. I'm still on the fence about the NRX purchase. I hate spending that kind of money and not really noticing much of a difference. Thanks again. @FishTank, I would be using it as a bass rod (spinning) for plastic worms. I've had a lot of luck wacky style.

What G. Loomis NRX would be like a SC LE 68 MXF?
@Heartland, @FishTank, @thunderblackI'm a little torn in that I currently own a few LE's, Xtreme's, and a Legend X. I believe you when you say the NRX is more sensitive but I also know from going from a SC IV to a SC V graphite the ROI is getting pretty slim. I wish I had a buddy with a NRX I could try. I just hate to spend the $$ and realize that with my 55 YO construction hands I can't tell a difference. Hope that makes sense.

What G. Loomis NRX would be like a SC LE 68 MXF?
@thunderblack, I have SC buddies that also have NRX's and some of them feel the LE's/LX's/ and Xtreme's are on par with the NRX.

Hey guys what model NRX would be like a SC LE/LX/Xtreme in the 68-610 MXF size? Thanks in advance, Randy

I miss the black also. Looks like they're going up in price too.

Which G. Loomis NRX Spinning Rod?
@FishTank, how does the NRX compare to the Legend Series from SC? I have a few LE's, X's and Xtreme's and wonder how can it get better??

Which G. Loomis NRX Spinning Rod?
Most of my rods are SC Legend series. My buddy is a blue light special fisherman. Spends $ 50.00 on a combo. He loves it if we both go fishing and he catches more than me. Like a lot of guys here I thankfully can afford some of the nicer rods/reels but I don't golf, drink, etc... so it's my hobby and I enjoy the feel of a higher end rod and reel.

Daiwa Fuego LT 2500 D-XH Spinning Reel
Well I bought it and put some braid on it. It seemed like it laid the line down ok which I was concerned about. Some folks worried me about the flexing but I guess we'll see.

Daiwa Fuego LT 2500 D-XH Spinning Reel
@Hammer 4, I have never used the anti reverse. My older Shimano's have it but as I said never felt the need to use it??

Daiwa Fuego LT 2500 D-XH Spinning Reel
Thanks for the reply @Vilas15. I'm a huge Sahara fan but I thought for the price I would try this Daiwa.

Daiwa Fuego LT 2500 D-XH Spinning Reel
Thanks @Bassjam2000 for the reply. I thought for the $$ it seemed pretty solid.

Daiwa Fuego LT 2500 D-XH Spinning Reel
Guys, I stopped by a local pawn shop and they had a NIB Daiwa Fuego LT 2500 D-XH spinning reel that I can get for $ 50.00 OTD. I examined the reel and it does appear NIB. I'm primarily a Shimano guy but do any of you guys have this reel and what have your experiences been with it? It would be paired with a SC Avid 68MXF spinning rod. TIA.....Randy

I'm getting carried away with these spinning rods
I think I have 11 spinning rigs and 4 BC and 3 of those are musky rigs. Most of the time I'm throwing senkos or lighter weight lures and the spinning rigs excel in that area IMO.

Shimano Curado DC 150 Gear Ratio
Thanks guys for the comments.

Shimano Curado DC 150 Gear Ratio
Guys, looking at buying a 150 size Curado DC but wasn't sure what gear ratio. I want an "all around" reel so I was thinking the 6.2:1 would be the best choice. Do you agree?

What’s in your hands and in the water most of the time?

Ever been pleasantly surprised?
I bought my son (not an avid fisherman) a Daiwa Revos 2500 LT and paired it with a SC Mojo Bass to use when he goes fishing or if one my friends need to borrow a reel/rod. I've had the reel for a couple of years now and I personally used it for a long weekend of fishing recently. Wow, I was very surprised at how much I liked it. I've been a Shimano Stradic guy for over 20 years and until last summer have not even bought a different spinning reel (I did purchase the Diawa Tatula and Ballistic which I didn't care for). For less than $ 50.00 the Revros felt like a much more expensive reel.
-
What is your cut off point/price on rods and reels?
I'm a SC and Shimano guy for the most part. My least expensive rods are Avids and my most are the LE's and LX's. I was using an Avid yesterday with an older Daiwa Ballistic and thought how good it all felt. A couple of years ago I bought a Daiwa Revros 2000 size and was VERY impressed with it. Makes me rethink that it has to be a Stradic Ci4+.
-
What is your cut off point/price on rods and reels?
I have several $ 700.00 combos that I have purchased over the years. Usually $ 400-500.00 for the rod plus a $ 250.00 reel.

"All" purpose casting rod
@WRB, sorry for the confusion. For the majority of my fishing I use spinning rods. I only have one casting rod/reel for bass and currently it's an AVID 66MHF with a Shimano Chronarch 200e7 reel.

Spinning reel wacky rig line set-ups for 2020
I guess I'm the oddity but I use 8lb Suffix 832 straight no floro/mono leader.

"All" purpose casting rod
@WRB, a casting rod. I have plenty of spinning rods but just one bass casting rod. A SC Avid 66MHF.

Thanks to everyone for their great comments!!

"All" purpose casting rod
@Teal, I use spinning gear for two reasons. It is what I like and I can throw very light baits with it easier.
