  6. I've been told some places will let you try different props before buying it til you find what works best. If you have that opposition that's what I would do. A 4 bllade prop gives you better hole shot but you lose some top speed. A 3 blade gives you more speed but doesn't get on plane as quick. If you increas your pitch your outboard rpm will drop, less pitch will increas your outboards rpm. Since you're only getting 5200 rpm I would go with a prop with less pitch to get the rpms up. Idk what to tell you about going with either a 3 or 4 blade prop. I would stay with stainless if you can. Hope some of this helps you out. Also, the pitch should be stamped on the prop. My prop is a 10 pitch and has 10p stamped on it
  7. Those are the lessons you don't forget
  8. Do you know the rpm range of the outboard?..what's the pitch of the prop on outboard?..
  9. If the good Lord is willing and the creeek don't rise, I will be completely out of debt in 2021..no mortgage..no truck pymt..then I'm going to have to do some hard thinking about a boat..when you get out of debt it's hard to go back in debt..
  10. That is why I don't fish on Sunday..if it's going to happen to me, it will on Sundays
  11. Seeing your rig Goose makes me think I should just keep my boat and just set it up the way I like. I could do that far cheaper than buying another boat. That's kinda why I started this thread, to get an idea of what other fishers would go with.. My boat is a simple 1542 Tracker flat bottom with a 20 hp Merc..thinking seriously of just setting it up..idk..
  12. Nice fish!! Atta boy..
  13. All of us has a funny fishing story to tell, please share yours. Here's one to get this ball rolling. My grandpa always left his rod and reels in his boat because he'd fish just about every day. My 2 cousins climbed into his boat one day while he was at work. One would cast the line into the yard and the other would free it when it would get hung up in the grass. The youngest was waiting for his brother to free the plug and as soon as he did, he set the hook!! Caught him in the nose with a treble hook. To make it worse, he reeled him in all the way to the boat. Fighting him as you woulld a bass. This is only funny because it didn't happen to me
  14. I called my local tracker dealer about this boat and was told it's a pro 170..
  15. If your next boat was going to be your last boat, what would it be? I would delet this if I knew how..lol..
  16. Good advice from Mobasser. I'm an avid worm user. Try black/blue tail, tomato colored, and especially luck-e-strike ringworm..Always had good luck on ringworm. Welcome to fishing!! You'll be an addict like the rest of us soon...lol

  19. Around Gainesville Florida. Best of both worlds,, close to some good lakes and you can be on the Atlantic or the Gulf in about an hour. Plus you're far enough north to be out of the way of hurricanes. Not as crowded as south Florida either.
  20. Double tail grub..agree with ScaleFace..looks like smoke flec..
  21. Mr. Champ, I wish I knew where to get them. They're hard to find around here.
