Just bought a new Bass Boat so I'm stuck throwing bobbers and worms for awhile ?. 12 rounds with the bait monkey and lost every round.

I'll take that advice. Wife and I are staying in Knoxville Monday night and will launch a boat into river at Harriman Tuesday...... will watch for floating logs

Just yesterday was talking to my Boat insurance Rep and told him about this thread. He said that there are approximately 10 claims per day submitted regarding outboard damage, props, lower units etc.

In the clear water I fish, seem to do well with Bone or a semi transparent body with blue on the back...... suspending that is.

If you have a robust sense of humor like I do...... this post has to make the Bass resources Hall of Fame. Clear image to boot.

Simply have in your arsenal the appropriate weighted hooks to match the swimbaits you want to throw. I have 3 different size Keitechs and have 3 different size weighted hooks......1/8 being my preferred but occasionally downsize to 1/16 in shallow grass. Yes, I use the lead weighted hooks, harmony.

Every electric only lakes I've fished in VA - WV allow an outboard, trimmed up.

I've not watched the News or read a newspaper in over 30 years. Every now and then the wife will let me in on some craziness and I always reply. " Ain't that something " ?

I don't dislike sonar, I use it, just not much. I'm all about visual structure, lay downs, standing timber, grass, pads, rip rap, rocks and stumps. The more time I spend looking at sonar the less time I spend casting.

My fishing partner and I had a long conversation about sonar and how it influences the way we fish......it really doesn't. He has (2) hummingbirds on his boat and I have a Garmin on 1 boat and a lowrance on a boat I'm buying. Water temps have a great effect on the way I fish pre-spawn but other than that, I don't see the significance of sonar. My fishing partner and I have caught a total of 3 bass offshore in the last 3 years on structure we found using sonar. The wife and I stayed on one of the biggest lakes in VA " Smith mountain" for a week and every fish I caught was on a dock. This is perhaps a knock against a popular device on a Bass boat but I've not seen where offshore structure trumps bank fishing at anytime. Yes, give me water temp.

I use 8lb Sunline Snyper to 15# braid on spinning ....... dropshot, Neds, suspending Jerkbaits and small Keitechs mainly. Been using nothing but an Alberto knot.

Years ago my buddy swamped his Hydro sport. He simply removed all the batteries in the rear compartment and drop a dehumidifier in and closed the lid. I'd be curious to know how all your flotation became saturated. In my mind, it would have to be submerged for quite awhile.
