this is good all around rod, why don't you start with braid? keep the breaks max to start for now, also don't cast it as you cast spinnerbait(weeping), just do casting very smooth and you'll be fine. watch this couple video and I am sure you'll be happy with your choice.

I have some court/white skirt and Churt Jig head and I want to make my own Jig with it for Dam fishing, the color and weight are specific for that condition(the jig less getting snag in lighter weight). so I can turn something to use while I am waiting for my reel to deliver. I don't know if I use small zip tie or I use fishing line to fit the skirt up there. anytime I want to try the skirt will not be in order and all of it will be in one side and I cant get it around the hook shaft even. Any idea or suggestion?

sometimes it is not the weight, it is the situation and technic. but if we look at it from the weight point of view, I call 4lb plus as nice bass. but you know honestly I am going to bed every night(it is true), thinking of two digit large mouth. I am praying always amen.

But for me I cast with right hand and retrieve with left, So I am lefty when it comes to fishing.

I meant if there is no way to remove the hook, and in that case I think hook is way down there, going to read it again.

So if you cant get to the hook from under the gills, just cut the line and let it go, stomach acid will do the job, thats what I would do.

That was the topic I was discussing few days back when I changed my mind about getting Metanum MGL, what happened to me I used Metanium DC all day and make about 200 cast against the wind (the go home wind), and I never had single backlash let alone bird nest. in my idea if you can use the same reel with braid and fluorocarbon leather if applicable and it will change your life. it is my idea and I would like to share it with you. you can still play and use adjustments to your reels but that is what works for me. Yes I tried but when I didn't get any just put them in my sons tackle box LOL. But this time I am going to go for it, whole day jigs, till I catch on it, also as it proven you'll catch big ones on it.

I am here to confess that I never catch any Bass(any fish), on Jig and Drop Shot. I know you will think I am crazy, but at first when I start I had no chance with this two technics, and I left it there. for me I'll get my hard baits especially jerk bait then crank baits and I'll get back to you with Bass. But I never, Ever had on Jig which is crazy. So last week I got some jigs from TW and now I am watching non stop tips about them and I am going to do it till I master it. Is there any technic that you didn't catch bass on yet?

Yes I believe it happened in some situation, ive had that exprience in Thailand and Philippines,if you throe anything with that hook you'll catch fish. but ive personally see the color diffrence, one day I was casting seiko 297 to spot of lake I knew there is big bass there, I didn't have any chance, I change that to another seiko same size but gray color, and immediately I got bites, few short strikes then I add treble trailer and I land her. I mean it is really about the situation.
