when I first open box, also feel stiffness in everything, After few researches I open and lube it up and it became really smooth and good reel. My suggestion just return it and get another one to make sure if it is an option, If you cant do that, Please lube it and put it back together.

For frogging you dont need anything fancy about the rod, I use curado rod for that application. What is important is the reel, You want a reel with higher gear ratio(I use 8.5), you choose anything 8 or higher is fine. And most important is solid aluminum frame for frogging. my combo is curado XH(need to be XH for SoCal), And my reel is Curado 151 DC.

Two hours each way, total of four hours for overnight trip.

This rod is so light: it is going to stay in truck forever for any sudden fishing trip and emergencies when the big swimbait bits are on. If I had this rod last Friday, I would cast it for all day, Not like other heavy rod that I just used for two hours because it was heavy. I paired with my Abu Toro 3 with 80lb test camo braid and 50 yards of 25lb InvizX top shot.

I was watching Drowning Mona last night, A movie I watched because I am Danny Deviate's fan, I like him so much after I watched his movie Twins (1988), And I loved him when I meet him in person on a movie I was working with him. Anyways in movie last night I saw how some actor carry the spinning combo, And I remember maybe it is 3rth or 4rth times I saw they doing this in movies. Isn't there someone in entier cast and crew to tell them they shouldn't hold that fishing rod that way?

What is the difference between Dobyns Champion XP DC 806 HSB-LH and DC 806 HSB? Both of them have exactly look alike in everything. Except that LH, It made me think it is Left Handed rod which I never seen.

I am in SoCal and I must go XH for frogging, But I think on your area H will do the job.

Today I was out and cast with it, It is perfect combo, Casting BBZ, Baitsanity, Deps 250 and etc.... Very good all around for 6oz to 16oz. Only thing you need to know the rod is heavy 11.1oz and head heavy, so it is not balance even after putting the reel on.

Something like that but there is so many changes, All my bass combos are in my home and ill take them only when go fishing, But the rest are there, Also I have LED lights set up for my night fishing.Going to take new pictures in day time, Right now I am going out try my new combo and cast some large swimbait.

Junebug 5" senko weighted TX rig (Brass and Glass). Weight depending on cover I am fishing it.

Everything starts when I couldn't fit my Dobyns 908 SB rod in my truck. So I decide to sell it and buy shorter rod. I sold it $220 to a college student($260 was listing price). And bought Veritas Toro beast SB rod, Why? Because my reel is toro beat as well. When the rod arrived Except the heavy weight I love everything about it, But it was WHITE, And you cant get whiter than that. Here all crazy stuff starts, From looking for reel custom painters to look for new Toro S which is white and will be match with rod. Finally I bought the reel and I am going to get it in mail by today. And now I still had the Gray Toro Beats that was match with my Dobyns Champion 908, So what the hell I purchase a Dbyns 807 last night to match with the Gray Toro Beats. YES I f*** up, And add another swimbait combo to my arsenal just because I couldn't fit that 908 in my truck ?. Thats the whole story and I wanted to share with you.
